Man, I’m so sorry to hear that.

This thread is so confusing.

It’s crazy how localized weather can be. We’re just a couple of miles from there - and didn’t even really get heavy rain. Hope everyone made it through okay.
-
I hope the OP will take this as an opportunity to step back, be thankful this didn’t have much more serious consequences, and maybe think about carrying in general and his approach to it for a while. He got really lucky. This could have ended a lot worse.

45-70 all the way. .44 Mag is fun in a lever gun, too.

We’re going to need to see pictures of any game taken with that thing. -

Glad to have you back around!

There's going to come a day when you can't get this stuff anymore and you'll wish you had stocked up back in the day. Just sayin'...

I reached out.

See if it’s better now.

It may take a day or two. Let me see if I can see what’s going on.

Where I've Been and Where I'll be (2020 Early Edition)
MacGyver replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I'd love to see a study that looks at provided valet parking at hospitals mapped against positive patient outcomes. Dollar for dollar, I bet it's some of the best money they spend. If you think about it, if you've been sick enough to have just spent time in the hospital - the last thing they need is you wandering around outside in the cold for 30 minutes with the added stress of not being able to find your car. David, give me a shout if y'all need anything. -
Just a friendly regular reminder that time spent training with people like @Cruel Hand Luke who know what they’re doing is really worth it. Spending a day or two with some good folks, working on *correct* execution of drills you can bring home with you, and getting to put some rounds down range load testing your actual carry setup is so worth it. Really. Seriously. If you’ve never done it, take a defensive pistol course from a knowledgeable instructor. Randy is a great instructor, and we’re so thankful to have him on TGO. But he’s also a professional who has suggested good trainers in other areas to a whole bunch of folks over the years. Get some training. It’s worth it.

I’d probably choose the Charter Arms Pitbull. I’d pick the Ruger 10 times out of 10 over the Taurus. If you’ve not shot one yet, I’d probably encourage you to do so - and work through some combat reloads. I wouldn’t be surprised if the has an effect on your final decision.

Good to hear you had such a good experience. I had no idea that's how that treatment worked.

Thinking about selling my .22 suppressor.
MacGyver replied to Grayfox54's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Unless it has some specific niche usage/history - there’s likely not a can on the market that’s going to bring more than a couple hundred bucks on the secondary market. Rimfire cans are regularly given away in promotions for purchasing another product - buyer just pays the tax stamp. That makes the secondary market on rimfire cans pretty shallow. Have your boys shot the suppressor? About the fastest way to get someone on board with shooting suppressed is to let them shoot suppressed. -
New Muzzleloader Design from Shot Show 2020
MacGyver replied to KahrMan's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I expect the breech end is at least a few thousandths narrower than the bullet diameter to prevent breech loading, no? Their diagram doesn’t look like it - but surely there’s a rim or something. -
I think this is actually a feature in their case - not a bug. In 2020, I think you have to make a choice - either you optimize for brick and mortar or you optimize for online. PSA's store seems to be a holdover from their pre-online days, and is more of a convenience to their local customers. I can think of some stores that were like this in the catalog days - the old Brigade Quartermaster store in Kennesaw, GA was really underwhelming when you went in - even though they could get you anything in the catalog if you asked. I recently had a similar experience walking into the new Duluth Trading store down in Franklin. Mind you, I think they've pivoted a bit in their model, but I was underwhelmed in their store - and used to love getting their catalog. The alternate example might be SMKW. They historically really optimized for retail and knew they'd get $20 out of everyone who walked through those doors. I'm sure there are cases of companies that do both well - but I sure can't think of any off the top of my head.

I’m surprised an inspector didn’t catch it - either when the home was built - or when you bought it.
