  1. I'll shoot just about anything. But, I think I might think twice before I shot that.
  2. Oh, I hate this. We’ll keep her in our prayers.
  3. We’re probably in for a couple of bad weeks. https://asafenashville.org
  4. If anything, that timing is likely to help the GOP more than it will the DNC. I think this gives weight to “they’ll take your guns” and some folks might vote Republican who might otherwise be kind of blasé this cycle.
  5. Things are not getting easier for the NRA. Air your dirty laundry in public - turns out somebody might notice. https://www.npr.org/2020/08/06/899712823/new-york-attorney-general-moves-to-dissolve-the-nra-after-fraud-investigation Regardless of what you feel about the suit on its face - the NRA kind of walked into this with their lavish spending.
  6. If y'all are seeing 1-3 days, that's way better than it's been in other parts of the state. At 8-14 days to get results back - I'd argue testing is worthless.
  7. With an average of 8-10 days to get test results back - any employer is going to tell an employee to stay at home while they await the results. Because of the delay - you pretty much have to treat the interim time between getting the tests and getting the results as a presumed positive result. I'd love to see the actual text of the letter - because I expect it says something to that effect. It sucks. And, it's a solvable problem. But here we are.
  8. Nashville is no longer the epicenter in Tennessee. As of this afternoon all counties are reporting community spread. Couple that with the number of rural hospitals we’ve lost in the last decade and this gets worse before it gets better. Y’all keep your heads down.
  9. For a blade under 2", I might go with a Kershaw Scallion or Chive. Those are both assisted opening - and can be had for under $40 out the door.
  10. 14C28N hasn't been universally well received. It was developed for Kershaw who wanted something with corrosion resistance. It doesn't have the best edge retention qualities. Honestly, if I were going to go with an automatic - I'd probably stick to one of the known brands to avoid disappointment.
  11. I'm obviously a Swiss Army knife fan. But, I love some of the classic slip joints that Great Eastern Cutlery has been issuing over the last few years. One of my current favorites is their #62 pocket carver: https://www.dlttrading.com/great-eastern-62-farm-field-pocket-carver-natural-linen-micarta-526 My all time favorite of theirs is a reworked sodbuster that Smith and Sons regularly puts out and calls the mudbug: https://smithandsonsknives.wazala.com/category/available-now/ Those are both 1095 carbon steel - so they're pretty easy to get blisteringly sharp.
  12. He’s had a tough few years. His videos provided a lot of information when web video was still nascent. He’ll be missed.
  13. Man, I might throw rocks before I paid $0.43/round for 9mm.
  14. A hurricane in the midst of the pandemic has the makings of a worst case scenario from a first responder’s perspective. Here’s hoping they dodge the worst of the weather.

    MEECES!

Don’t forget the NAA minis. They might be tiny - and reloads are out - but they’re well made pistols.
  16. That’s weird.
  17. The double sided clip may be the greatest addition to flashlights since the LED.
  18. We almost always use these holographic spinners from Walmart that come in a 5 pack. It’s the only place I’ve ever seen them. But they work.
  19. We’ve had some good luck trout fishing in the Harpeth this season on rooster tails. I’ve even caught a few in the creeks off the Cumberland of all places. Just be careful in the high water. We lost a prominent local business leader here in Nashville last weekend when he lost his footing fishing the Duck and got pinned under a tree.
  20. There are very few things I love more than some good high speed camera content. Those were interesting results. Cutting shape aside - what I really want is the one I have to change the least often.
  21. I’ve got the Dewalt flexvolt blower and trimmer. They’ll last longer with a 9ah battery than you will. I run a Ryobi 40v mower on my 3/4 acre lot. The 5ah battery is typically *just* enough. I bought an extra 2ah battery for when I’m slow. The Lithium ion batteries have a much better life cycle than the old NiCads. They’re typically rated to have at least 80% capacity remaining after 40 charges.
  22. Physics being physics, you should probably reasonably expect a .40 caliber pistol to wear faster than a 9mm. That said, if you put 35-40K rounds through one to accomplish that you've probably earned a new one.
  23. I think the KME is the best buy in the sharpening business. They make a great product that will sharpen everything you've got. If you're looking to spend a little less, a Spyderco sharpmaker and a decent strop will serve you well. Frankly, for S30V - so long as you're not abusive - you should be able to keep it popping sharp with a strop so long as you keep up with it.
  24. It makes me nervous every time one of those comes after my lure.
