  1. I can text him.
  2. That reminds me of those cheap Rambo copies from the back of Boy’s Life in the ‘80s. I remember a buddy of mine tried to whack a wild grape vine with it. He was so disappointed - and we laughed so hard when the blade just broke off the handle because it had no tang. It didn’t even really do any damage to the vine.
  3. Here’s hoping for a full recovery.
  4. Watch out for that green dot model. Once you try it, It might have you putting all those red dots up for sale
  5. Being social media “influencers” and running a non-profit at the same time is going to draw attention. Have NPR produce a podcast series about your alleged scams and dig into the details is probably their worst nightmare. When you’ve got pro-2A Republican lawmakers calling them carpetbaggers, there won’t be a lot of folks lining up to help them in an investigation. You can search “No Compromise” in your favorite podcast app if you’re interested.
  6. Non-adjustable. If it’s going on a fighting gun, you’ll want the bigger dot.
  7. It won’t surprise me in the least if the Dorr brothers go to prison before it’s all said and done. They’re about to get a bunch of press - and some very unwanted scrutiny is likely to come along with it.
  8. For my money it’s still an RMR. But, there are some great sights out there. You ought to try out more than one if you get a chance - everyone’s eyes are different.
  9. Sounds like and awesome trip and a great outfit.
  10. Man, that look like a great time.
  11. Prayers for both of y’all. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
  12. Hey, congrats! Glad everyone is healthy. Love that smile on your older one.
  13. Yep. The scenes of Broadway last night were less than encouraging.
  14. Nashville, encouragingly has been going in the right direction - cases in the double digits daily for the first time since June. Masks are pretty much 100% in stores.
  15. Are we talking an heirloom or a nicer daily use blade? A Spyderco PM2 gets my vote in the latter category. In the nicer, but reasonable pocket knife space, I recently picked up a Lionsteel Best man’s knife - mostly because of my love of all things M390 and sheepsfoot: https://www.dlttrading.com/lionsteel-bestman-slipjoint-single-blade-sheepsfoot You might check out some of Great Eastern Cutlery’s stuff if the more traditional folder is your thing.
  16. The state of Mississippi has dismissed all charges against Curtis Flowers: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/04/us/after-6-murder-trials-and-24-years-charges-dropped-against-curtis-flowers.html#click=https://t.co/j5T4TTZxUF
  17. That's cool.
  18. Oh man, I’m sorry to hear this. You often hear that nobody will love you quite as fully as a dog. But, I’d say both of your dogs have gotten pretty lucky, too.
  19. To quote @DaveS - who I hope is enjoying his retirement in Florida, “hogs aren’t particularly hard to kill.” You should use a caliber large enough to reasonably ensure a good ethical kill commensurate with your skill and experience. For some folks, .300 win Mag wouldn’t be enough. For others, .22LR is plenty.
  20. There president of Meharry Medical posted this study on the mounting evidence for Vitamin D maybe being of help (especially to folks who are older, overweight, or black). https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(20)30268-0/fulltext#.X005agRPJE4.twitter
  21. Every story needs a bad guy, I guess. I find the most interesting criticism of California comes from within the state itself. I mean, if we really look at the states as a collection of experiments within the nation - California is a unique data point. I'm glad I don't live there. With Covid prompting a lot of remote work - and housing being so expensive on the coast and around the Bay Area - you're likely to see a lot of Californians moving to places that offer a better cost of living. When you think about it - you can buy a 1 bedroom/1 bath mason block former married officers barracks for about $1.5M. Think what that will get you in Memphis or Chattanooga or Nashville?
  22. Man, 4 years next month. I think of him regularly. When I do, I say a prayer for those of y’all who are still here. And I say a prayer that one day our country will have as much zeal for taking care of our vets as they do for creating new ones.
  23. Also. I know sometimes that members passing aren’t necessarily public. We’ve got some members who’ve had a hard go of things and have been in my prayers for years. If you want to PM David or me privately, we can add people to the list.
  24. @Randall53’s stepson lost his fight with post traumatic stress a couple years back. I don’t know that he was a member here - I’ll send him a note.
  25. @Mikefite passed a couple of years ago in an accident.
