I can speak to the homeless here in Nashville. We’ve had several cases - and some deaths. Luckily we’ve got some truly great non-profits here that have helped that population manage it like the rest of us have had to. I’m on the schedule to spend the night next week as a part of one of those programs - so I guess you could say I’ve got reason to keep up with the data.

ad-closed Glock 20 10mm - Emergency Must Sell

Y’all can count me in. -
They make some amazing hips these days. I sure wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but my prayers are that she’ll be better than new in no time. Jamie knows this - but do every bit of the PT. And keep it up from here on out.
-
Prayerful for you, Michael. That’s great news for Lisa. If y’all need anything, feel free to shoot me a message

I was off the grid all weekend, but you were in my thoughts a lot. Get well soon my friend.

My prayers are with y’all.

I would suggest current generation whichever form factor you ultimately decide upon - they seem to last a long time - and future proofing yourself as much as possible by spending a few extra bucks is worth it. The current generation iPad is a great value - especially when you find one on sale for a few bucks off. Were it me - I'd start looking at the Black Friday ads. If you use other Apple products like the iPhone - checking their News app and allowing 'Apple' news always seems to have a roundup of who's got them on sale. The newly refreshed iPad Air is more expensive - but a truly great device. It may be more than she necessarily 'needs'. I love the iPad mini. I've had one for 7 or 8 years. I'd probably wait until the first of the year before buying one if that were the form factor she prefers, as it's due for an update soon.

I am signed up for the vaccine trials. My thought is that I’m healthy with no health conditions of note - so I figured It was a pretty minimal risk. I’ve not been called - though severaL of my colleagues have. I’m able to isolate a bit more than some - so by all rights I should be the last one selected. I’ll certainly take a vaccine when it’s available and my doctor recommends it. Vaccines don’t save lives. Vaccinations do.

The virus is the economy right now. Full stop. I expect we’re heading for another shutdown - whether we like it or not. We’ve had 100k plus cases every day for the last 6 days. 170k yesterday. A month from today, 3000 of those folks will be dead. We lost 2,977 Americans on the morning of September 11 - and it has changed so much about our day to day lives since. I sincerely hope I’m wrong about this. But this time next month we’ll be losing a 9/11’s worth of Americans every single day. It’s going to suck.

Yes.

Call any CEO of any hospital in America. Pick any one. I assure you that any of them would rather be back to the elective surgeries they were doing before. A knee replacement is probably 10x as profitable as COVID treatments. I’m sure they’re available in the press - I’m on mobile so I’ll have to link later - but our biggest system in middle Tennessee took double digit percentage pay cuts all spring and summer. They’d all rather be doing anything else.

If you do more pregnancy tests - does it result in more pregnancies or fewer pregnancies?
-
Yes. They’ll try to route people elsewhere - but you can’t stay there because there’s no space. Staff is taxed to the breaking point.

Tennessee doubled the number of adult ventilators in its stock last week. ICU capacity in Nashville is currently at 6%. Rutherford county facilities are on diversion. Y’all stay safe.

It's hard to imagine .22LR having enough power to reliably work a Luger action. I bet that was something to shoot.

I can recommend Blindspot by WNYC. It details the intelligence and lead up to 9/11. We missed/failed to take action on so much. You also get the sense that it could have been much worse. As someone who was active in that space at the time - and was in 1WTC that morning, I can say that it's an accurate account that most people would really learn a lot from.

Their assets were bought by JJE Capital Holdings in the Remington bankruptcy proceeding last month along with AAC, H&R, Parker and a couple of others. They're a private equity firm that has an ownership in Palmetto State Armory. For what it's worth - while AAC's basic site is functional - their online shop is now behind a misconfigured login page. Sounds like some bills aren't getting paid. https://huntsvillebusinessjournal.com/lead/2020/09/29/hearing-today-in-bankruptcy-court-on-remington-break-up-sale/

I am seeing a lot of masks everywhere I go. They seem to be the most effective tool we’ve got. 97,000 new cases today. 2500 of those folks are likely to be dead a month from now. Something to consider as the air gets colder and drier - and a respiratory virus will hang in the air a lot longer. The actions that we were comfortable with during the warm weather months may not keep you safe now.

There's not a better single stage made than the Forster. It should treat you well on some of the wildcat stuff you like to load. If you see Blake out there tell him we said hey and he can come back anytime...

That's a gorgeous old watch. I hope you can find someone who will appreciate it in these digital times.

We’re about to be in a bad way again. Y’all be safe and make good choices.

It's certainly an understood business model at this point. While you could have some insurance premium related to reloads - that's something that's easily remedied in the policy language. It's much more likely that commercial ranges understand quite well the LTV(lifetime value) of a customer - and know that customers who reload are likely going to use the range a lot more often are actually going to have a much lower lifetime value and cause a lot more wear and tear on the equipment. To put it bluntly - most indoor ranges actually don't want members who are going to use the range on a weekly basis. They add a bunch of cost. So, they filter on (reloading == hardcore shooter who's going to be here a lot.) Take away the ability to shoot reloads and you filter out a bunch of those customers who are going to make you have to service your traps and your air handlers and all that stuff more often.

What a loss. He was a true legend. First Guy Clark, now Jerry Jeff. Luckily both of those guys inspired so many, and there’s some great music coming out of Texas these days.

MNPS just paused their school reopening “until further notice.”
