I’d be willing to bet there aren’t 1000 dual-illumination RMRs out there with more than 100 rounds on them. They sound like a great idea - and they are within the right use case. But they really don’t solve a problem that the regular RMR and a pair of backup irons doesn’t. It exists to sell on GSA contracts and to folks in the private space who’ll spend more if you show them how.

I think this is related to the fact that really good barbecue is specifically about a really good pit master. It's like asking Picasso's kid to carry on painting like their dad - it's just not going to be the same. Any restaurant with BBQ on the sign ought to be able to do reliable, decent pork shoulder as sort of table stakes. But, two things will kill it - one is a pit master who doesn't eat, breathe, and love the art of barbecue. Second, and directly related to the first - the moment you open that second location you've got a heavy lift that's going to be hard to do reliably. It's just hard to scale good barbecue. That's undoubtedly why the best barbecue is in single location restaurants in places where the rent is lower.

Squirrel Hunting with a .410 in Middle Tennessee!
MacGyver replied to Sidewinder's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I think if I had a reloading setup, I’d skip .410 and go straight to a gentleman’s 28 gauge. On the question of 2.5 or 3”, the easy answer is that you can kill any squirrel with a 3” that you can a 2.5” - the same isn’t true in reverse. Once you get outside of whatever that effective range is - the efficiency of the 2.5” is going to fall off a lot faster. The more nuanced answer is to pattern both and be cognizant of missed shots in the field and really ask why you’re not knocking squirrels out of trees. I expect you’ll wind up with 3” loads. -
Squirrel Hunting with a .410 in Middle Tennessee!

I'd pattern #5, #6, and maybe even #7 1/2 in 3" shells in whatever gun you're going to be using. Since most single shot .410s aren't choked - I'd go with whatever puts the most pellets into a paper plate at 30 yards. Grey squirrels aren't particularly tough - but it's still a numbers game at the limit of the shotgun's useful range. -
Check the barrel. It's stamped with what caliber projectiles should be used. Like others said, it is probably a 5MM. Note - that this applies to actual firearms as well. Please, please, please check the designation before loading a round.

A spammer jumped in with a post that was later hidden. I expect that the software still sees the new post even though it's hidden when it pulls new content. I noticed the same thing yesterday when I saw this thread at the top of my feed.

Something for your next trip to Smokey Mountain (SMGA)

That’s pretty neat. -
I wonder if it was either Silver Spoon's Cafe (that's what we had in Georgia) or Mozzarella's American Cafe (same company here in Tennessee)? They were both heavy on the brick and I remember both using those flickering bulbs. The one in Green Hills Mall was the first place I ever recall seeing those open strings of decorative bulbs suspended from the ceiling - but that was later - earlier they both used the flickering bulbs on the wall and in the fixtures.

I know it does. I’m fortunate that in both our families of origin and the family we’ve chosen, we’re around people who get along and love to spend time together. I hope our kids take that with them.

It was enough for fish tacos - and my personal favorite - old Florida style smoked fish dip. The thing about it I love the most is all the kids that we’ve traveled with all the years have come to love the evening when we have a giant dinner of fish tacos with all the fixings. It’s cool to hear them pray and give thanks and really understand God’s blessings.

I fished the surf in the Outer Banks last week. Water was still right at 70F, but good redfish bite and about all the whiting you could want to keep the kids busy. My 12 year old has a formula. She says one whiting equals three fish tacos. We like fish tacos.

Thought about just using a fire pit from the local big box store? They’re generally big enough for months of household mail - and they’ve generally got screen covers that will keep your flaming bank statement from taking flight and burning down the neighborhood.

Goodness. Y’all will be in my prayers.

I bet if we ran a poll, the number of people on here who’ve sized a gas port with a hand drill is way greater than those who’ve used a drill press. And both of those are way bigger than the number of people who’ve ever even seen much less actually used a reamer.

What a shame. There’s no one who’s done as much for the 1911 since John Moses Browning.

Careful… Pretty sure the gates to hell are in Daytona Beach somewhere.
