Goodness, I hope he's well. As the son of a Vietnam vet - I pray for all of them as they get older.

Get a blanket over that thing fast!

I mean… that’s wrong on so many levels. And. I don’t hate it like I think I should. I’d probably shoot it.

Truly one of the greatest stories ever told.

How does one dress for an Air Supply concert?

I’ve had one for every phone I’ve had since the 7, think. It works great with MagSafe. I’d even works with the spotty wireless charger embedded in my desk at work.

Sounds to me like you either need a new gunsmith or a new extractor. Maybe both. -

Are these fired or unfired rounds that make the action difficult to operate? If they’re fired, some pictures of the brass would likely be helpful. -
I’m just thankful we pivoted from the original product. Otherwise the suggestion of a “let me see your Nutsac” meetup would just be weird.

They’re all over Nashville. We pass one regularly on the way to school that has been polished to a mirror finish. I’m surprised the driver is still allowed on the road. When the sun catches it right it’s absolutely blinding.

Just a quick mod note reminding everyone that posting politics just to post politics should go in the political forum.

I expect many picnic hams will be similarly slaughtered for this class -
Update - we finally made contact with my friend in Black Rock. They lost their house and a bunch of their things - but they are safe. Thankful to put one more person on the safe list!

Got a friend in Black Rock that none of us have been able to make contact with. We *think* he should be okay - but we’re really hoping to hear from him soon.

Typically inside the bag. Yes they’re sealed - but it’s not uncommon to see some leakage over time when you’re talking long term storage. It also helps with the fact that often we seal in bigger than single meal quantities - and we need something to help with what’s left when we roll it back down.
-
Don’t forget to add an oxygen absorber if you’re planning on long term storage.

It doesn't have the twist lock mechanism - it's much more streamlined with the magnetic attachment it uses. If I was going to be on a mountain bike or something like that, I might choose something like the Rokform. But, for day-to-day use, I like how the magnetic strips just blend in. They're neodymium - so they're super strong. I have them on the boat, in the car, there's one in my closet, etc. But the magnets in the case are strong enough that when I bush hogged a couple of weeks ago, I just stuck it to the side of the roll bar. I bounced around 15 acres of old corn field and it stayed put the whole time.

For my money the Magbak classic case is the best phone case ever invented. Like many things - it excels when you get the whole system squared away. It's a great case by itself. The integrated magnets means you can stick your phone to anything ferro-based. It's surprisingly handy in the gym and in the kitchen. It ships with tiny magnetic strips that will let you stick it about anywhere - so this works great in the car. I also use the wallet that's perfect for holding about 3-4 cards and a little cash. https://magbak.com/products/magbak-for-iphone-16-series?variant=41908780367953 It's a bit more than the generic Amazon case - but I think it's worth it.

On the subject of .32s, I’ve always had a soft spot for them. There are plenty of better options these days - but it wasn’t so many years ago that there weren’t. I had a friend kill a hog with a .32ACP Seacamp. It wasn’t a giant - maybe 125lbs. We were ready with the rifles - but dang if it didn’t drop it after about 5 steps.

If any TGO’ers are directly affected and this community can help - please reach out to me via DM. We might not be good for much, but we’re good at pitching in and helping out.

There’s a reason those places haven’t been built up. They’re basically salt marsh - and they’re used to regular flooding. Most “houses” are cinder block inside and out. It’s not uncommon to see furniture up on cinder blocks when people aren’t there. Places like steinhatchee and cedar key are more built up - but the general architectural style remains roughly the same.

Prayers for sure. I’ve got people in Keaton Beach and elsewhere in the Big Bend area. We’re expecting a total loss event.

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear this.

I really like the fact that the fishing specific sling bags have a smaller 3-point strap that really locks things in when you’re moving - but unclip it and you can bring the whole rig around to your chest to get at whatever you need without taking the whole bag off. I think you don’t really realize how useful it is until you use it. I think some of the “tactical” bags miss on both of these points. They’re a marginally smaller bag with one strap. When you load them down they bounce around and are uncomfortable. And, you have to take them off to get at your stuff. They’re great for a “grab it quick and go” type bag - but they’re definitely limited.
-
Also, FWIW - the sling bag is kind of a specialized bag with a few applications that it really excels at. Fishing is one of those. They're big enough to hold gear to compliment fishing in the backcountry - and yet stay comfortable all day long. Don't sleep on the sling packs made by Simms, Orvis, and FishPond. I've run all three. I like all of them because they're big enough without being overwhelming - and they'll hold a water bottle too. Since you're in middle TN - I expect you could go down to FlySouth and put your hands on examples of all of them.
