  1. Saw this on the DRMO site earlier. Don't know what the fees would be, but current bid isn't bad for 1300 lbs. of lead 0001 - Uncategorized at Government Liquidation
  2. I use the 95gr Cor-Bon DPX in my MicroEagle. Seems to work well, even though I haven't dug it out of anything to test its expansion.

    New plinker

Nice plinker. Have fun punishing cans for crimes they didn't commit.
  4. Not in a hundred years. The judge would be impractical for everyday carry. If you want one, then go ahead, but I would keep the 642.
  5. Welcome to TGO
  6. That's interesting. I definitely think of my multitool as just that, a tool. However, I also carry a Spyderco military or paramilitary, and while those also are tools, I definitely think of them as secondary weapons.. I would be comfortable deploying either of them in a defensive role, but can't think of a situatioin where I would go for a knife over my pistol. I'm interested in where, and how you carry that knife. Maybe those of you who do carry can also include how and where. I don't have the option most days of going untucked, so I would either have to conceal it behind something or broadcast that I've got a knife. I would either have to keep my jacket on or find somewhere else to carry it.
  7. You carry all those? You're like that guy in the beginning of Mad Max III.
  8. The RC3-Mil version is a plain edge. They're shipping now with nice kydex sheathes as well. I picked one up from BladeHQ recently and have been really impressed by it. It's not my get out of trouble knive like my RC5 is, but it is nice for most uses. I really like the finger choil on it. It makes choking up on the blade for delicate work really easy.
  9. I carry one in the truck as well. I'm really interested to see how many actually carry one on their person.
  10. I've been suprised after looking at several of the Everyday Carry Threads and Everyday Blade threads that have been going around recently to see how many fixed blades are out there. I have a bunch of good fixed blade knives, but consider them specialized tools for the most part, and hence don't carry one everyday. How many of you carry a fixed blade knife on a daily basis? Feel free to post pics.
  11. Good to hear you like it. You're right. It definitely doesn't have the best blade in my collection, but it does have a better one than the Leatherman it replaced. Come to think of it, I don't ever really use the blade, but am always using the pliers/screwdrivers. I like that the blade is a sheepsfoot design, but I really wish manufacturers would get over these half plain edge/half serrated blades. They both have their pros and cons, and by combining them, you take the pros of both away while gaining the cons of each. Give me a straight plain edge, or a full serrated one. I'm smart enough to make the choice on my own.
  12. Welcome to TGO.
  13. That dude is the reason your mom told you that you would put your eye out with a BB gun.
  14. Nice. Welcome to TGO.
  15. Talk of the Nation is covering it right now. Consensus seems to be that after the arguments - 5 justices seem to be in favor of striking the ban. It's funny to hear a pro-gun discussion on National Public Radio.
  16. Good for you JG55. Keep it up.
  17. I carry Federal 147gr HST's exclusively. Anything I've ever dug that particular round out of out of has shown great expansion characteristics and weight retention. I like the fact that they stay subsonic, are quieter and have less felt recoil in my particular weapons. YMMV. I think a lot of the stigma surrounding the rounds are due to the early adoption of first generation rounds for purposes other than that which they were intended for (subsonic SMG's).

  19. Have you tried animal control? You've likely got some more justifiable options at your disposal that don't involve an angry neighbor retaliating against you for shooting his dog. And, if the dog really is a threat, you can take action before it bites somebody.
  20. You know...my wife is a member of the NEA because she's a teacher and the county requires it. We get all kinds of mailings from them that send my wife into orbit. That said, an organization doesn't necessarily speak for all of it's members. I would be more concerned if I saw St. Judes on that list directly. Also, like Bo and yourself you have to recognize that both St. Jude's and LeBonheur do phenomenal work in out community. I'm all for supporting them (mostly regardless of their stance on 2A stuff), and applaud SafetySouth for doing so. I eat lunch on Sunday after church with a variety of pacifists and conscientious objectors. I might not agree with their stances personally, but can look past that to see that there is plenty of room in the community for all of us.
  21. That's awesome.
  22. To the OP, try updating your browser - or using a different one. While delays due to shared server usage have been mentioned above, this forum is using the same software that is used by hundreds of other forums. If it was breaking browsers and hanging computers, it would be doing it to a lot of them. Plain answer is very simple. It's your computer or something on it.
  23. Will do. Maybe I'll pick one up and do a giveaway or something attached to your PIF Christmas Thread this year.
  24. 1977 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. Bought if from a guy who had it sitting under a tree in his front yard down in Florida. Drove it for years. Got pulled over in it one time going up Monteagle when I was in college. Officer told me he paced me going 80. I joking told him the only way that truck would do 80 would be to drive it off the cargo ramp of a C-130. He gave me a ticket. Wish I still had it, because today I could do one heck of a restoration.
  25. Sweet. Keep us apprised of your progress - when you can, of course. Though, I bet coverage on the trail is a lot better than it used to be. If you are thinking of thru hiking, my guess is you've got a lot of experience. That said, if you need any recommendations on gear, approach, etc... feel free to shoot me a PM.
