  1. Really only my right front pocket feels like it's out of control sometimes. The front left with the NAA Mini and multitool is less bulky than a few Leatherman's I've had over the years. That's why everything in there has been changed multiple times as things have gotten smaller over the years. The hard thing about it is that once you are used to having it, you actually use the stuff. Minus the pistols, I use everything in my pockets multiple times each week. Some of them multiple times a day. One of these days I'm going to CNC some tools based on my own experience.
  2. Nice response. You articulated the position of a responsible gun owner well.
  3. I've had it for about 2 years, and love it. Last count I'm into David for 4 holsters and two belts. He makes great stuff.
  4. We are the Land of the free because we remain the home of the brave. I am so sorry for your family's loss, and will keep them in our prayers.
  5. Here's my EDC. It has changed over the years, but these items have remained consistent. Left front pocket Gerber Crucial Multitool NAA 22Mag Mini-Revolver Both in a "prototype" pocket holster that was really a proof of concept, but has lasted for about 2.5 years now. Right front pocket Keys + mini prybar Lip blam Space Pen Lighter Flashlight - Maratac AAA Spyderco Paramilitary - plain edge 4-5 o'clock - Walther PPS in a DM Bullard Tuckable Right Rear Pocket - iPhone Left Rear Pocket - Wallet Marathon GSAR Watch
  6. I've been wanting to pick up a Curahee.
  7. Those are nice!
  8. Sweet. Congrats.
  9. Seems like if that was the case, the OP would know about it and wouldn't be posting here. Something seems not quite right about this. He seems to have PM'd more than one of us asking the same thing as his original post - after he posted it here.
  10. You're a bit far from Nashville, but if you are ever in the area let me know and you're welcome to shoot my P99AS or my PPS.
  11. Wow. You know it's bad when you're getting schooled by Mulder
  12. SR22 is an awfully nice plane to fly into a building.
  13. A Walther PPS is my daily carry. Before that, a Walther P99 was my daily carry - and still is about one a week or so. It is a great pistol. Great trigger, a pioneer in user selectable backstraps, and a great shooter. Mine currently carries a Streamlight TLR-3 and rides in a Raven Concealment Phantom LC holster. You'll love it.
  14. That's awesome.
  15. It's a great pistol for the price. Be forewarned it will only serve to knock you down the path to more 1911s.
  16. I'm interested in your results on the P238. Please do post them. I haven't picked up a P238 yet because frankly my PPS backed up with my MicroEagle usually fit my defensive needs just fine. So, while I don't need one, I do want one. Let us know how it likes the different ammo. It may speed up my buying one.
  17. His email address is at the bottom of the article. By all means, the man deserves a note of thanks.
  18. Don't forget this shirt. Doesn't hurt to warn them early.
  19. And minty flavored to boot.

  22. Yeah, in the interest of full disclosure, I've got a RC-3MIL as well. It is a great fixed blade knife, and very durable. Same S30V steel, so it holds a great edge. It is currently shipping with a great kydex sheath with multiple attachment options (as are all of their RC series). To me, though the RC-5 is the essence of what a combat knife should be. Full tang, multiple attachment options, good scales, easy to sharpen well, maintains an edge and will take just about anything you throw at it in stride. Not to knock any other knives mentioned here, though. I've never cared for the LMF series, but not because they're not good knives, they just don't fit my hands very well. I'll also second the Bark River option above, though they can be expensive. I've got a Bark River Golok that I consider the perfect machete. It's a great tool - though Bark River's reputation has suffered a little in the last few years from some QC issues.
  23. In my line of work, I have the benefit of getting to work with our military and other branches of government without actually being employed by one of them. One of the things that consistently stands out to me is the overall level of knowledge and professionalism in today's military. I think it is a pretty common liberal misconception to look at the military as a job of last resort for "poor kids who can't do anything else". I actually had someone in a university setting say this to me recently. If we aren't careful, that mentality creeps across political lines and others start paying some credence to it. The irony is that this particular professor had no idea that a couple of his best students were actually military. Anyone who thinks that today's volunteer army is a bunch of "hood rats" is either misinformed or are not capable of seeing the military for what it is. Maybe both. Either way, they are dead wrong. Today's military is comprised of some of our best and brightest. I know it's disheartening to hear that you can't be accepted because of indiscretions 20 years ago, but the heart of the matter is that they can afford to choose who they want enlisting right now. There are ways that have been discussed above to potentially get past the moral waiver issue (at least some of them), but at the end of the day, they can be picky.
  24. This is kind of like the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act... someone would have to be willing to take on a lot of risk to be the one to step up and test it. Where's Hex when you need him?
