  1. that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for the pic.
  2. Nice work. It feels good to get it apart and get it clean.
  3. I have never been a huge fan of Robin Hood. That said, I saw the preview when I saw Green Zone, and thought it looked okay. With Russell Crowe, it could go either way, though. He is one of those actors that I have a hard time watching onscreen because I think so little of him offscreen.
  4. I think this is kind of the American story in a sense. Once you've been here for a while, you kind of get fat and happy - and start slacking off. Hyundai and Kia both seem to understand keeping costs low and delivering value. They really seem to have gotten their quality control dialed in, and are set to be significant players for some time to come. Hyundai especially deserves credit for their Purchase Assurance program last year where they would buy back your car if you lost your job. I heard an interview with their President in which he said they sold 435,064 cars in 2009 and bought back 109 of them. Marketing genius.
  5. Man, I don't know what they do to some of their blends of coffee. It's like they roast them with a blow torch or something. I think I could leave my coffee in the pot for a week and not have it come out that bitter. I'll give it to them, though. They took an admirable stand for a Seattle based company recently when they publically said they wouldn't post their stores. I'm not an open carrier, but am glad I'll be able to continue to go to coffee with friends on Friday morning without worrying about them posting.
  6. We need to see some pictures sometime.
  7. No. In fact, I'll admit to feeling a little uncomfortable when the guy at starbucks repeats the order for my wife's caramel machiatto on Sunday morning and corrects me by saying "Oh you'd like a care-ehhh-mel machiatto. Would you like whipped cream with that."
  8. I'm quite certain of the correct way to say it. Not that there's anything 'wrong' with saying it the other way. Some of my best friends say it the other way...
  9. You know what the hardest thing about debating how to say caramel is? . . . . Telling your parents that your gay.
  10. I hope you at least cleaned it for me afterwards...
  11. It's surely got as much science behind it as global warming
  12. Now that's a great looking 1911! Can't wait to get my hands on it (hopefully this week).
  13. If there has ever been a thread that is useless without pictures, this must be it! Be safe out there.
  14. Awesome pics. I bet that was a great event.
  15. You know, the part of this that really gets me is that I know so many people struggling to have kids of their own. Going through all kinds of hormone treatments, en vitro, adoption, etc... just to try and provide a safe place for a kid in the world. Yet, scum like this can have kids, and treat them worse than unwanted animals. I don't do so much of it anymore, but our forensic team used to do a lot of child protection work. Everything about those cases absolutely sucks. You go home somedays just weeping for these kids, and you can't come to any rationalization of it because these sickos are truly broken. You can't understand it because it can't be understood. It took a lot of counseling for my team and I to come to grips with that. One thing made it worth it, though. Sending those dirtbags to jail, knowing that they wouldn't hurt anyone else. Man...this thread has my blood boiling. I hope they bury this guy.
  16. This. You don't have to blow a 0.08. You have give the officer suspicion that you are intoxicated, and then blow anything. You might get it tossed out of court, but I wouldn't want to take that chance.
  17. I'm not even a Glock fan, and that still made me want to cry.
  18. Maybe you need this: ScareCrow Motion Activated Sprinkler Deer and Animal Repellant - CRO101 - 20-CRO-1013 - SmartHomeUSA.com You could water your garden at the same time.
  19. Man, not my airgun. The Crosman 760 Pumpmaster I had as a kid was relatively quiet, but some of today's offerings are hard to differentiate from their real steel counterparts. I've got a GAMO -something- that not only is the report from the weapon loud, so is the sonic crack of the pellet going downrange.
  20. A couple of thoughts. Since the restaurant carry bill was overturned in the fall, we can't legally carry in restaurants that serve regardless of whether we are drinking or not. Sometimes the best way to stay out of trouble is to avoid situations that potentially get you into it. Since it's you locking up the firearm, you have just added a step to accessing it. You've not removed your access to it. I wouldn't drink at all in public if you have access to a weapon. It's just asking for trouble if you ever get stopped. If you still choose to do so, I would unload the weapon and separate the ammunition from the weapon, so that you have several step of separation - just like a non-permit holder needs to do if they are going to the range to shoot.
  21. Nice work! That's a good looking rifle.
  22. I've carried every time I've ever been there. Seems like to unarm you'd be the only one without a gun. I don't drink, so no problems carrying in a place that serves. I heard the police were giving people who carried a pretty hard time in the Quarter a few years back - even demanding to see bills of sale. I've never had an issue.
  23. I've never seen this done before...I'll have to keep it in mind in the future.
  24. Nice looking rifle.
