  1. It's great with the tuckable clips as well. I just haven't converted them out yet. I think that makes 4 D.M. Bullard holsters and two belts for me. I have been really impressed with his work. And, he seems like a heck of a nice guy to boot.
  2. That's nice.
  3. Definitely let me make clear as well that Hero-Gear exceeded every expectation I had, including delivery time. I ordered one the day after shooting one late last summer. I got the first serial number they released, and knew going in that it was going to be a while. Frankly, I didn't expect to see it until sometime this summer. Jeff was great about reaching out regularly with updates. When he did get ready to build, he reached out to make sure that my weapon was exactly like I wanted it. It's the reason I go out of my way to do business with Joe and those guys. They deliver a great product, and really strive to exceed expectations. The range bags are great. Joe, I don't know if you borrowed the design from someone else or came up with it on your own, but the shock cord added with the velcro straps is a great idea. I love the pistol.
  4. Well, the initial wait was long, as they had to get all their paperwork in order, and had to get Caspian to run with the Hero Gear serials. I think I ordered around the end of last summer (fully expecting it to take a while). Jeff told me the other day that now that they are up and running, probably around 30 days. I'd give him a call directly to check. edit: Joe answered above 4-6 weeks
  5. Came with the rug and three Wilson 47D mags. One of my main reasons for ordering one (after shooting one at a get together last year) was to support folks here in Tennessee. I figured that as long as I was doing that, I might as well go ahead and get it with the roll marks. I kind of like it. I think it was well done.
  6. Well, I'm glad to see you had a legitimate reason for me missing you in the store today! Looks like you guys had a good time.
  7. Well, like Jason I also picked up my Hero 1911 today. Jeff Meister puts together a great pistol. I cannot speak highly enough of his work. If you have wanted a custom 1911, but have been hesitant, here are pictures of the pistol and a range report. I can definitely say that this gun is capable of more than I am as a shooter. Shown with a D.M. Bullard Dual Carry I picked up in expectation of its arrival Three shots - supported - 25meters - The two showing outside the sticker are the outside 2 rounds of 5 shots from 25meters unsupported. 9 rounds from 15meters supported. The flier there occured when the people in the lane next to me did a mag dump with the rental Thompson. I was a little nervous earlier watching both the girl and her boyfriend sweeping the range and each other with a Glock - and now they were shooting a machine gun. 15meters - moderate rate of fire - unsupported The remainder of a box of 100WWB from 7meters - rapid and slow fire I am quite certain the gun is capable of more than I am right now. The supported shots at 25meters were shocking (at least with me doing the shooting). I can truly say that this weapon exceeds all of my expectations, and I would rank it right with any NightHawk, Wilson or Baer that I've had the pleasure of shooting. Definitely give Joe or Jeff a call and get your hands on one of these!
  8. That's a good looking pistol! If it shoots as well as mine, then you should be supremely happy.

    that's awesome!
  10. Sweet. That's sooner than I had heard, and certainly sooner than I expected.
  11. Thanks. Can't wait for the Gen4 19 to come out.
  12. While I've often questioned the authenticity of this tale, it's always moving to read. I only wish our government (and all of us) would live by it's principles.
  13. If it is registered as a pistol first, then it has to you have to go the SBR route and pay the maker tax if you want to add a stock. You could add a rifle length upper so long as you don't add a stock.
  14. I've got one of those SWFA SS 10x's on my old Bushmaster Varmiter. It's a great scope for the money.
  15. Just don't double stack those containers!
  16. That's pretty cool...
  17. Take a look at the Walther PPS as well. Great small 9mm package.
  18. I've got one in Nashville.
  19. It used to be red. I'll wear my five finger shoes next time around.
  20. I'm going to step out and say that I think this add is more in line with what I experienced one time in Texas, where a particular town I was in on a case had a law that if you were in a discussion and it got heated, anyone who was carrying a gun was required to put it in the middle of the table. It was a strange sight to see all of these people in a room discussing settling this case start pulling their weapons out and putting them on the conference room table. That said, I think this ad is meant more in terms of alternative conflict resolution than an anti-2nd ad. As a graduate and someone who is fairly involved there, this is something that's just not on their radar. In fact, if it were to become an issue, because of the conservative politics of the typical Church of Christ student and faculty member, I can't see them taking an anti-2nd stance. While the Churches of Christ historically had a sort of conscientious objector philosophy, that movement really died out as Hitler came to power and members had to level their theology with what was happening in the world at the time. They are one of the most conservative denominations around from a political perspective. If the typical member today were really polled to find out their views on 2nd ammendment issues, I would expect that you would find mostly strict constructionist answers that are very much in line with your views. They've got several faculty and staff members who have spent most of their careers standing in the breach in some form or fashion. This seems to be an ad for their Center for Conflict Resolution that happens to picture a gun (I can't read the text on my phone). I wouldn't read too much into it. I do think they deserve a lot of credit for their yellow ribbon program. I've met a few of the students going through the program, and Lipscomb deserves some credit for putting their money where their mouth is in "supporting the troops".
  21. That's pretty dang cool.
  22. Tennessee is a right to work state. Unless he has those guarantees in a written employment contract (which is extremely unlikely for a line position), they aren't going to get him anywhere.
  23. Truthfully, I'll probably wait for netflix. It's really a shame all of the dollar theaters around here have closed. I used to love to go on a Sunday afternoon and see two or three movies. Does Memphis or Knoxville still have them?
  24. yeah, those guys are on my list too. I want to be entertained when I go to a movie. Increasingly, some actors are making it hard to do that without thinking what jerks they are off the screen. I've liked some of each of their work. I'll probably see robin hood. I just hope I'm not disappointed.
