  1. I don't even know what to say.
  2. I modified a couple pairs of under armor Lycra shorts that I wear under my running shorts. I cut a horizontal slot in each leg of the shorts and reinforced the opening. I sewed a piece of neoprene in behind the cut and then stitched the appropriate shape for my pistol. I don't usually wear a shirt, so I carry my weapon on one leg and spyderco military / light on the other. Super comfortable and no movement at all.

    Buick woes

I know your wife loves it, but ditch the Buick while you can. Nothing good, or cheap will ever come from this car again!
  4. Nice work on trying to get an answer on this and hold them accountable for their position. I get why show operators don't want loaded weapons in the show - licensed or not. It would be bad for all of us when some HCP holder hurts somebody trying out that new holster. That said, it was bad form and bad customer relations to not allow you to take the ammo back to your car.
  5. I've a friend who has one. They look great, but don't use it in a SBR setup with a suppressor, the gas blowback is almost unbearable. Definitely made me check my eye protection.
  6. So I've been building a hog gun in .458 SOCOM. It should be a pretty formidable system when it's done. As I've been acquiring parts, I've thought about building another AR platform weapon in .338 Spectre. There is a pretty good selection of bullet weights, and I like the fact that a 9mm can is pretty effective with it. Anybody on here got any experience with .338 Spectre? I'd love some feedback based on your experience.
  7. I'm going to vote machete, but in reality I actually default to my ESEE (Rat Cutlery) RC-5. It's 3/16" blade gives it all the oomph I actually need, and is still small enough to carry and actually have it on you when you need it. I'm comfortable enough with it and it's application through fieldcraft that I would be confident in being left in the field for two days or even much longer and still be able to make it out just fine. If I am forced to choose, or need an actual machete, then I default to a Bark River Golok.
  8. That's pretty dang cool.
  9. That is a good deal. Thanks.
  10. You know, this phrase, along with "we can't understand it now, but it's God's will" probably do more damage to people's faith than about anything out there. I agree with CrimsonAudio and Smith here, but that is of little consolation when it's happening. Yes, God may infact provide a "way out" to bear the suffering, and he may expect us to use the experience to help others later. Neither of those ease anyone's pain now. Losing 2 children wasn't God's will for me and my wife. My wife losing her dad at 50 years old wasn't either. This world is broken. It sucks. Through Christ, we do have a way out, but sometimes that's of little physical comfort here in this broken world that we are left in. Mike, I don't even know you personally, but I do know that you've taken some blows this year with your grandkids moving away, and other stuff too. I also know that you can make it through it, and there are a lot of people on here who can do some of the lifting if it gets too heavy for you. Just let us know.
  11. Those Browning safes are heavy! I've moved a lot of stuff over the years, but I like my friends. I didn't want to have to call any of their wives and tell them they were dead under a safe at the bottom of my stairs. I'd hate to run into that guy that Mark uses to help him deliver safes in a dark alley. I think his neck was bigger around than my chest. Watching them deliver my safe reinforced what your grandad always told you about using the right tool for the job. That special dolly for moving the safe up and down the stairs was really cool.
  12. Having witnessed it, I agree. It's also probably a lot cheaper than a hernia operation.
  13. Hmm...That is interesting. I'm not sure what the impact will be in the long run, but seems statistically interesting. You would expect the makeup to roughly parallel the population, but I guess you would be wrong.
  14. I'm like CrimsonAudio in that I don't subscribe to HBO. I am looking forward to this coming out on DVD, though. I definitely plan to watch. I don't know that I really expect this to even rival BOB. I think that series may be unparalleled - even when the same team is doing the Pacific. You only really get one masterpiece.
  15. I'm not much of a shiny gun guy, but that is gorgeous.
  16. A little mustard is all for me.
  17. I've yet to go to that site without spending $50. The Maratac AAA is the best EDC flashlight around in my opinion.
  18. Interesting. I like the idea. I also like the white interior. I'm not in the market, as I just got a new safe last year. But, out of curiosity, how expensive are they?
  19. 147gr HST's in 9mm. 230gr +p HST's in .45acp.
  20. Interesting.
  21. First car was a 1977 FJ40 that I bought when it was sitting under a tree in Florida. Great truck. Unstoppable. Drove it all the way through college and then some. I loved the double doors on the back, and the fold down jumpseats. I also loved that you could practically stand in it if you needed to work on it. Not crowded under the hood at all - man I miss that.
  22. Nice light. It may replace my Maratac.
  23. Spyderco Military. Period. Maybe the best definition of what an EDC knife should be. Fast. Wickedly sharp out of the box. S30V steel makes it easy to sharpen and keep and edge. Good G10 grip panels.
  24. These were built from the ground up, Chandler. No existing pistol necessary. I have seen examples of jeff's work on customizing existing pistols to their owner's liking, but these are new hero-gear serialized weapons.
  25. I expect that they will last me for the rest of my life.
