  1. Took some significant roof damage, and tore some of the soffit out of my roof. Everyone's okay, though - which is all that really matters
  2. Good to hear! We'll pray for his continued recovery.
  3. You shouldn't have a problem with low rings on the .308 model. That said, having tried both, medium height rings work better for me on that rig with a 40mm Leupold tube.
  4. Be safe out there. Good luck and godspeed.
  5. Usually only about a month. It's the ATF, though. YMMV
  6. Good to hear. He's still on our list.
  7. Was the suppressor loose when you removed it from the p22?
  8. That's pretty cool.
  9. I'm glad I saw this thread come around again. I took this picture last week and forgot to post it. Here are the best shrimp and grits ever, in my opinion. From Great Southern in Seaside, FL. That reads "Spiced shrimp with a saute of apple-wood smoked bacon, spinach, Portebello Mushrooms and cream, all on a bed of smoked Gouda cheese grits" Top that off with some key lime pie and that's a little piece of heaven. The mac and cheese with bacon and shrimp isn't half bad, either.
  10. Packet Radio for me.
  11. We'll keep all of you in our prayers.
  12. You don't sell guns your dad gives you. At least not without significant regret later.
  13. Mmm....You'll have to travel for the best. Great Southern in Seaside, Florida has the best I've ever had. Hands down. I could make myself sick on them. I hear good things about Fish & Co's. effort on 12th Ave South over in the Gulch, but haven't been in there yet.
  14. That's beautiful! Congratulations.
  15. I'm going to put mine through the paces and EDC it for a while. There are a couple of things I'm intrigued by, and figure if I waited this long them I'll at least give it a shot. I like the thickness, and the fact that it's D2. The bottle opener actually does work well in a "wave" opening role - though we'll see how my pockets tolerate it. I like that it carries all the way down in the pocket - that's the one thing I would change about my beloved Spyderco Military. I'm intrigued by the roto-block. Right now I don't see myself having a lot of need for it on a day-to-day basis, but appreciate any equipment that can be promoted to a higher use. All in all, I'm impressed. A heavy use knife was promised and delivered - even if it was 3 months late.
  16. Good to see a 4th state added to the list that support Constitutional carry. Wyoming governor signs concealed gun bill
  17. Truth is, You're not really watching anything except what you think you're supposed to be watching when you're driving
  18. Visibility. You're not watching the bike lane. Most people don't really know the width of their car, and think they can squeeze past you while you're on the shoulder - all the while tagging you with their mirror. The sidewalk is the most dangerous place to ride, because as a general rule, cars don't look or stop until they reach the curb - which is 6 feet beyond the sidewalk you're riding on. That leaves taking some space out in the lane.
  19. Man...Like the waiting list for a Randall isn't already long enough. Order now so your grandkids can take delivery of it one day.
  20. Having a small spinning rod in a Level III pack is a potential game changer. Yes, there are a lot of methods available for survival fising. Some of them are pretty efficient, some aren't. They all have their place. A gill net, improvised trot line or fish trap can all be great for gathering food while you're doing something else. A fishing pole, though is an active, efficient manner of catching fish. No doubt about it, it can save your life. And, as you said, it is an active morale booster.
  21. In all seriousness, if I had to carry, or was inclined to carry a .25, I would carry 50gr. FMJ rounds - preferably some of the solid copper ones. I would also practice rapid fire drills and concentrate on getting the entire magazine into the thoracic triangle of a standard silhouette as quickly as possible.
  22. Posting in the classifieds is a benefit for "benefactor" members. See "premium memberships" link in the top right corner of the page. Good luck.
  23. It's good ammo, and a pretty good price.
  24. You know what they say about buying a .25. If you buy it, you'll want to load it. If you load it, you'll be inclined to carry it. And, if you carry it, you might have to shoot someone with it. That's really going to make them mad.
