    .300 BLK?

    Primed brass, to boot.

    .300 BLK?

Dang it! Somehow I've set up this prop in my mind that I didn't need to get into the caliber because I don't really have the time to make brass in the quantity I'm going to shoot. It's not really true - but it's kept me from calling AAC and buying an upper thus far. Now you just go and knock all that down.
  3. 20mm is actually only equivalent to .787 caliber. The .950 would be roughly equivalent to 24mm. That's a big rifle!
  4. Both Freedom Arms on the high end and Charter Arms on the lower end make 327 Federal models, too. Neither are hammerless, though.
  5. The 632 is usually a little closer to $600 on the street. Taurus makes a 327 hammerless, too. I think it's called a model 327. They're less than $300 on the street.
  6. Federal 230gr HSTs
  7. I've worn blue ones for a couple of decades.
  8. Native Silencers. Great lenses. Reasonable price. Customer service way above what was expected made me a customer for life.
  9. I'm not allowed to go into that store. Seriously, they've got some really nice stuff in there. I could probably spend at least a couple of paychecks with them. If you're using an oil like linseed oil, you'll find that the wood can absorb more than you think it can. We don't really notice it that much with modern laquers and varnishes, as it effectively seals the wood permanently. I like that life that a wood takes on with oil, though. It takes some care, but I guess all good things do. Over time, I think you have something that is far more interesting.
  10. ESEE makes a good no nonsense one. SOG makes a decent one, too.
  11. Welcome home, man!
  12. Nothing hits quite like a bonefish. Looks like it was a fun trip!
  13. M&P 340 in my weak side front pocket in an Aholster pocket holster. No problems in Levis 501s
  14. The blade shape on the Sable doesn't' do a lot for me, even though I can see it being fairly practical in use. But, those one piece handles are another story. I've always thought the CR one piece handles are some of the best handles out there. I don't know what kind of knurling tool he uses, but they've always felt great in the hand. Congrats on a nice find.
  15. I mean, who wouldn't want to bite a miniature donkey? Sent you a PM with a, Steve.
  16. And, with "lights out machining", those same machines are running 24 hours a day, seven days a week and don't all need an operator. It is truly amazing, and really interesting at the same time. The more I really look at everything that is going on, I'm convinced that the economy that comes out of this depression isn't going to look anything like the economy that went in. Most of the jobs that we've lost, especially in manufacturing simply aren't coming back. From there, you can bemoan this, and a lot of people certainly are. But, from my perspective, it's kind of exciting at the same time. I look at the technology, tools and machinery that we have today, and the breadth of your imagination is truly the limit. We're going to suffer as we try to bring back the past as opposed to finding new ways to move forward. The next few years are likely going to be tougher than the last few. But, through all that I don't know that we've ever found ourselves in a time more ripe for innovation.
  17. You know, I was never a fan of Robert Byrd, but he was right in protesting President Bush's use of appointed "czars" that weren't subject to answering to Congress. After Obama took office, I expected him to back off, but he actually stepped up his campaign before his death. He was more vocal on the matter in Obama's first year in office than he was in the Bush presidency. You're right. It's really dangerous to focus solely on Obama. Both parties are complicit in the problems facing us, and frankly, we're to blame for letting them get away with it. Obama's a problem, not the problem. The way I look at it, it's kind of like asking it you like chocolate ice cream or strawberry. At the end of the day, it doesn't much matter. Consume enough of either and you're going to get fat.
  18. My first thought was that Colt may be establishing a foothold with more to come. I'm sure there isn't a big manufacturer out there that hasn't paid attention to Boeing's lynching by the administration and the unions over the last several months. T hough as I think about it, with modern CNC machining centers, you really don't need as much space. I've got a friend who does as much today with only 4 machines as he did with 15 just a 3 years ago. Plus, it could be anything - corporate office, R&D, whatever... I'm all for welcoming them down South. Maybe they'll start a trend.
  19. I think he definitely represents a major threat - to both sides of the aisle, really. I hate it, because Gingrich while smart, is crazy, and Romney is a certain loser against Obama. What these guys were thinking by agreeing to 32 televised debates moderated in almost every case by people who hate them is beyond me. The strongest candidate isn't going to come out the other end of this machine. It's going to shred all of them.
  20. Good morning. And in case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night. Seriously?
  21. People need to start taking this stuff through the courts. This jobs program disquised as security theater is ridiculous.
  22. I edited the OP to remove the picture of the Secret Service Agents. While we certainly enjoy freedom of the press, I'm a little sensitive to putting people who are professionally downrange faces online. The Secret Service also has a significant law enforcement role that often involves undercover work. I'd hate to have any part in compromising someone down the road.
  23. When someone in an official position abuses their position, it has real consequences for all of us. These people who wholely deserved their sentences, and maybe then some will be retried. It will cost the taxpayers of Tennessee millions of dollars, and could result in a different outcome. We should be disgusted. I think this guy should be required to pick up the tab for each of the likely hundreds of retrials that result.
  24. Whenever I see huge chunks of lead like that, my immediate gut reaction is radiation safety. It might not hurt to hit it with a geiger counter to make sure it's not hot.
