  1. Magpul's stuff is good. With Travis and Chris gone, I expect it may be a while before we see another.
  2. Between the TCP and LCP, the LCP points more naturally in my hand. I recently shot a new TCP that a friend had purchased and was having issues with out of the box. He got me to shoot it to see if I experienced the same issues, which I did. I carried a Crimson Trace equipped LCP for about a year in my pocket with a couple of different holsters. I liked the weapon, and it was perfectly reliable with just over 550 rounds through it. My only complaint with the platform was that despite trying several different holsters, I could never seem to draw it from my pocket without having to readjust my grip. Since having a good full firing grip is important to me, I removed it from daily carry service (full disclosure - I do still carry it from time to time as a backup with a Raven Concealment holster using a merc harness). I've gone to a j-frame as a daily pocket carry. A decent new or used 442 or the like is pretty close to your budget with an aholster for pocket carry. I find it carries better than most autos in my pockets.
  3. I'm an ESEE RC-5 person myself. The ESEE Izula is well within your price range with a good kydex sheath.

    Hello

Be safe out there, man. Was thinking about you the other day, as I thought you were already over there.
  5. I'm closing this one as spam. The OP can feel free to PM me if they want to provide more info that can be authenticated, I'll consider opening it back up.
  6. Done. We'll keep him in our prayers.
  7. Man, that's great! I might have to pick up one of their .17HMRs in the near future.
  8. I tend to agree with this guy.
  9. Was the drive encrypted? If so, you're almost guaranteed to have lost your data in a way that is not going to lend itself to being recovered. Encryption is a great idea, but without a sound backup strategy in place can be really dangerous. An encrypted drive, as a general rule depends on the integrity of the whole volume. If some of the volume becomes corrupted, as it does when heads start skipping (that clicking sound) then the decryption engine won't be able to decrypt the data as the stream coming into the engine is corrupt.

    338 federal?

Reloading is a must to get reasonable ammo cost. Otherwise, I think the round has a lot to offer. I'm shooting 338 Spectre, which is essentially a .338 calibler bullet in a necked down 10mm mag case.
  11. No problem shooting shorter 2 3/4 shells. It's dangerous to go longer and shoot 3 1/2". Generally, you can shoot shorter shells than the shotgun is rated for without problems. Shooting a longer shell than the gun is rater for can cause a situation where the crimp isn't able to fully open thus creating a dangerous barrel obstruction.
  12. You guys are in our prayers. I know firsthand how extra scary anything becomes when a pregnancy is involved. Keep us updated.
  13. I've got one down in Brentwood you're welcome to look at.
  14. Thanks, Dave. We really benefit from your experience on here!
  15. Check out the aholster pocket holster for it. I carry an M&P 340CT, and haven't found a better holster. Full house .357 is a handful, but I also find it quite controllable. Let me know if you wan to try one, and I'll throw an extra one that I've got in the mail and you can try it out.
  16. That's pretty sweet!
  17. Knife kits is the place. Same as the woodworking store. I'm not allowed to go there.
  18. That's a good looking little pistol.
  19. If you wear out your welcome here, it's revoked permanently. We have a Code of Conduct for a reason. We all have a lot of fun on here. We all contribute to the sense of community, and if you're like me, enjoy participating in that. But, everyone needs to realize that when you post here, your comments go beyond our member base. When you post something here, just like when you choose to carry a firearm in public, you speak for all of us. Do something stupid, and we all deal with the blowback from that. We try to be open and upfront in our moderation of the forum. We also try to be consistent in our application of the rules. That said, if you're asked to leave permanently, we mean it. That's not license to just go and create another persona.
  20. I think the traffic is impacting their blog engine. This story has been picked up big time by the blogosphere.
  21. That was really good.
  22. Bruce Hemming's "Buckshot's Modern Trapper's Guide"is a great resource.
  23. I'm closing this thread per WD-40's comments above. I tend to agree that this thread was only meant to stir up trouble, and as such, the OP should consider this appropriate warning.

    .300 BLK?

It's all relative. I figure it's pretty cheap when taking into account both my time and the cost of other wildcat brass. I'm sure I could turn out a holder to trim 5.56 brass on the lathe and then size the necks, but I'm looking at a whole weekend to even approach that kind of quantity. For me, with running a company during the week and having a young family, $0.23/round is reasonable for brass that's going to last several loadings. Didn't you make a bunch of brass not too long ago?

    .300 BLK?

    Primed brass, to boot.
