  1. No, but I did spend two of the longest years of my life in the worst city in the Union, Houston when that little "energy" company decided that their sign wasn't the only thing that was crooked. Couldn't get a pulled pork sandwich or a glass of sweet tea anywhere, so I left.
  2. Unless the beer truck hits the cow. In which case, hopefully there's a Kingsford truck driving by.
  3. I need to look up the STI post from last January. You made it what? Like a week and a half?
  4. I did it last year, and it was a great deal. Andy, thanks for making it available again.
  5. Mike, I noticed the new Midway sale paper has your Co-ax in it. I wonder if they've actually got any?
  6. This series of Savage rifles in .22LR, .22WMR and .17HMR is one of the most underrrated rifles on the market today. They are great shooters out of the box for the money.
  7. I machined a Ruger 10/22 from an 80% receiver earlier this year and put a 1:9 barrel on it specifically to use with the SSS rounds. You don't really need a suppressor, but with it the thing really does approach "spooky quiet". Oh, and Tony Kidd's triggers really are worth the money! I need to post some pictures.
  8. Yeah. Early to mid-90's.
  9. That's good looking, Steve! Congrats.
  10. Got a copy of this as a surprise Christmas present! Stayed up way too late last night watching. The truing section alone is worth the price.
  11. I'm seeing a vision of Eric's New Year's Resolution list. Of course "quit buying so many knives" probably has as much chance of succeeding as last year's "quit buying so many guns".
  12. Dynamic Handgun, Carbine and Shotgun should be on everyone's Christmas list. They're good refreshers, and it's always awesome to watch someone who can run their gear like nobody's business.
  13. Seems like a guy could sell the heck out of some Battle Mugs out there.
  14. That's a nice looking build!
  15. Yeah, I think he was Hennessy's single largest customer for several years running. The Napolean Brandy comment was referring to another large purchase he made a couple of years ago.
  16. I'm giving some thought to going. Man, I hate Vegas though. Right now I'm kind of leaning more towards the Tulsa Gun Show in April.
  17. Sometimes, to say you're better than everyone else, you actually have to be better than everyone else. We've certainly made our share of mistakes along the way, both domestically and abroad. But, we're different. When we change that - despite the fact that some might like to march in and start shooting people, we lose any moral authority we might have had. I consider myself fortunate to have travelled the world over - more than once. The fact that every four years or so a president of one party can walk onto the steps of a big building, shake hands with a newly elected replacement from another party and sit and watch him be sworn in without any bloodshed is significant. It doesn't happen all that many other places.
  18. I keep a Martac AAA in my front pocket and use it at least 3 times a week. In colder weather and at night, I carry a Surefire LX2 LumaMax in my jacket pocket.
  19. Yeah. Sons of megalomaniacal dictators are a rare breed. On the bright side, they rarely survive for too long.
  20. Break out the Napolean Brandy. Good riddance, 'lil Kim. Let's hope Kim Jong Un doesn't follow the standard path presenting a more sadistic version of his father.
  21. Looks great. How'd you do the coloring, Gordon? Paint it all then back on the lathe?
  22. He's got a pretty cool hangar. It's immaculate, and he's got a completely restored old willys jeep and a lot of old WWII memorabilia on display. I got to have lunch in there a couple of years ago with my grandfather when the Confederate Air Force was bringing an old B-17 through town. I've got my grandfather's logbooks in my safe. He flew over three hundred missions in various model B-17s throughout the war in both theaters. Getting to fly with him in that plane that day is truly one of my favorite memories. He was at the end of his life, but he may as well have been a 25 year old kid again that day.
  23. There's a gentleman here in Nashville with one. He keeps it hangered out at John C. Tune.
  24. Just hit the report post link when you see this happen. It's less work for us to clean up. If you reply, we then need to delete your post as well when we clean the thread up (e.g. the recent "Factory 40S&W & 357 Sig AMMO 4 Sale or Trade" thread). Thanks in advance for reporting these, though. The moderators definitely don't see all the sale threads. By helping us keep it clean, everyone contributes to a better market when you do want to sell something.
  25. There's nothing to tell. He beat someone up on price in a thread a couple of weeks ago and the person who had the item for sale reported it. Since he was new, I gave him a warning. He got reported again today for the same thing, so I booted him. It was clear that he wasn't interested in playing by the rules. We're serious about crapping in Trading Post threads. If something is priced too high, the OP will figure it out when it doesn't sell and adjust accordingly. If you've got to say something to the seller, do it in a PM. Anything else is unfair to people who have paid to participate in the Trading Post.
