  1. Nice looking knife. congrats.
  2. Beretta haters, especially 92 haters my be worse than Glock haters. The 92FS is a reliable, accurate platform.
  3. I've dealt with tactical solutions customer service in the past and had their president return my call. I had an early model upper fo which they sent me a newly designed bolt carrier group. He even called back a few days later to ensure that it solved my problem. I have bought several of their other products since knowing that they really stand behind them.
  4. As long as he's not running a buffet, I wouldn't worry about him showing up.
  5. I know a guy who does passive heating with some. They've got a greenhouse that's maybe 8x10 on the back side of their house. At the suggestion of their architect they put 4 or 5 barrels to collect rainwater up against one of the walls. The greenhouse has a window into their unfinished basement that they open during the winter. Those barrels collect enough heat during the day that you can feel the heat coming in the window at night. I don't know how much it reduces their heating bill, but their basement sure is a lot more comfortable.
  6. While they're not exactly cheap, new barrels aren't but about $70 in either poly or steel.
  7. That's interesting information. The guys I know haven't had their barrels for more than a year. Maybe one hand doesn't know what the other is doing?
  8. I heard the interview with the author on Fresh Air this afternoon. It's worth listening to.
  9. Here's the answer I got back from my friend: I have another friend who got some barrels from the same place recently. If anyone gives them a call, give us a follow up in this thread.
  10. Let me see what I can find out.
  11. If you can use poly instead of steel, the Coke bottling plant here in Nashville sells their old syrup drums for $7 each. I've got a friend who uses several as rain barrels.
  12. That's pretty cool, and a fun time at that!
  13. I don't know what Starbucks puts in their coffee, but that stuff goes through my colon like a freight train. Nonetheless, I'll stop by that day and show my support. My girls LOVE that $3 chocolate milk they've got.
  14. I came into this thread with the expectation of closing it. That said, after 23 posts, I'm pleasantly surprised. I have my beliefs on the matter, but have always had a problem with people who make it their business to pass judgement on who will or won't make it in. I might be a protestant, but if Mother Teresa doesn't make it in, I figure I better just go ahead and step out of the line. I also think this might be one of those questions that if you get the chance to ask the good Lord, his response may be, "what do you care?"
  15. Hopefully with a highlighter for the 4th Amendment.
  16. I like McMaster-Carr. Their catalog may as well have been the Sears Wishbook of my youth. I don't know that I'd ship steel from them, though. I've gotten a lot of stuff from OnlineMetals over the years.
  17. Closing this temporarily. Paul, PM TGO David or myself if you would like to advertise.
  18. Good to see another person in the club! Enjoy the rifle. Those TTSXs are solid performers.
  19. Here's an update (hat tip to Garufa) http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-canton-...0,337121.story Offending officer has been fired.
  20. They're going to get spanked sooner or later. I expect the White House is betting against the odds hoping to put it off until after the election - for a variety of reasons both political and narcissistic.
  21. A Liberation Theology New Testament Muslim sect at that... Man.
  22. Try Revolution Stocks. I've got them on both a target 10/22 and a Savage 93R17, and they are great. They make them for both right and left handed shooters and are reasonably priced.
  23. That's great! Congratulations.
  24. No, but I did spend two of the longest years of my life in the worst city in the Union, Houston when that little "energy" company decided that their sign wasn't the only thing that was crooked. Couldn't get a pulled pork sandwich or a glass of sweet tea anywhere, so I left.
