Voted this morning. Edmundson Pike Library. 13 minutes from the time I got out of my truck until the time I got back in, including the time spent changing my address. I did notice a gentleman standing in the corner who kind of looked out of place. Looking at the tag he had on, he was a "U.N. Election Observer". I can attest to the fact that no one was oppressed, repressed or otherwise kept from voting while I was there.

Wall Street Journal has Hillary today being a good team player and "possibly" considering sticking around for a second term. I guess trying to fall on her sword for President Obama tarnishes her image, leaves a bad last impression, and hurts her 2016 chances. Lord help us if she ever becomes president. They'll have to pull her off the drapes to get her to leave.

This thread got me to thinking about this picture that has recently been colorized. It's from the 1927 Solvay Conference, and has 29 of the brightest minds of the time Over half of them would go on to win Nobel Prizes, Marie Curie twice. This particular conference focused on the newly formulated quantum theory. Einstein made his famous quote regarding Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle that, "God does not play dice", to which Neils Bohr replied, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do!" You can look at this list and every single one made a lasting contribution to science. Heck, a lot of them had an impact on this Boeing mystery missle.

Yeah, you know the interesting thing about anything in the microwave spectrum is that it attenuates pretty quickly. I wonder if they're kicking the speed up to "missle" speed in order to be able to get a lot closer to their intended targets. It's been a while for me on anything microwave, though it strikes me that the first real "laser" was the microwave based "maser". I wonder how close is close enough.

That's a big deal if it's true. It's morally reprehensible. Turns my stomach to think about it.

For those who are keeping up with this, here's Week 06 and 07, both a Democratic and Republican perspective. While I appreciate each of these speakers, like their modern parties, they both kind of let me down. Maybe it's too much to expect. Maybe they were just trying to tee it up for this week's non-participant: Kingdom Politics - Week 06 - How my faith led me to vote for Democrats http://player.vimeo.com/video/51225033 Kingdom Politics - Week 07 - How my faith led me to vote for Republicans http://player.vimeo.com/video/52016118

It's kind of hinky, but here's one that's super-light. And can be a fishing pole, to boot. http://packrifle.com/products.asp

I've got a little Rossi Combo that fits the bill nicely. The AR-7 is also a great choice. Truth be told, my Ruger MKIII gets called up to service most often in this role. Lightweight, suppressed with a mini red dot, it's a game getter.

I think Romney did what he needed to do in the debates collectively. He appeared credible and Presidential. In that regard, the first debate probably mattered more than the other two combined.

Sierra Matchking for deer hunting
MacGyver replied to GoneBallistic's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If it does well with the MatchKings, it will likely do equally as well with the equivalent weight GameKings. I shoot a fair number of both out of my 700LTR. Why take the chance? Load for a bullet you know is going to perform. -
While they certainly have their ideal operating parameters, I think pistol caliber carbines have a pretty established history of usefulness. MP5, Uzi, etc... A pistol caliber AR is interesting to a lot of people because it has a manual of arms that they're already pretty familiar with.
