Those Audi's are tough to figure out

As a forensics professional, unless they were to shoot someone with immediately after you handled it, there simply isn't going to be enough of a print left to be an issue. Fingerprints have many enemies besides being wiped off with something. They degrade naturally in the air as well. The usable lifespan of a fingerprint, even in ideal conditions is actually pretty short.

That looks like a deal you can't refuse! A good opportunity to run some good ammo.

Potential Self-Defense Law Seminar -No Cost
MacGyver replied to midtennchip's topic in Events and Gatherings
I'd be interested. -
The problem with this whole thing is it isn't really the law. It's not like they have to get this read into the Federal Register. It's been "once a rifle - always a rifle" for decades. Now, they're saying differently. They can go back next week if they want with no real reprocussions.

I like buried conex containers, period. Problem is I can't say that just anywhere

You're going to have some issues getting a storage building to pass an inspection. It can certainly be done, just know that you're going to need to plan for some accomodations advance. At the same time, there are some architects doing some pretty cool stuff these days. If you're committed to small and simple, you've got a lot of options available to you.

Yeah. You need something with some ability to absorb sound. Shipping containers, as a general rule seal up pretty well. You don't need a lot to condition them once they're insulated, so you won't have much noise from HVAC to drown out other sounds. I remember having to unplug a charger all the way across a container once because I could hear the transformer hum as I was trying to sleep. I've slept in one with a wood burning stove. In the winter months when it was in the teens outside, one log, started in the early evening would keep it comfortably warm all night. Try to burn two logs and it would run you out of there in short order.

Admiral relieved of command. Makes me wonder more...

Leory, I'm guessing this is more a matter of, "keep your mouth shut and we'll let you retire quietly and collect your pension." They had enough guts to take actions they likely knew would result in these consequences. Let's hope they don't back down now. -
As someone who has spent more than his fair share of time sleeping in one, they're fine so long as no one is snoring.

FEMA Making Preparations To Postpone Presidential Elections?
MacGyver replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't know that people need to worry about postponing the election. Congress is the group with that authority, and I don't see them coming back to Washington between now and Election Day to get that done. If you want to worry about something, worry about the allowances made to the states to "remedy" any "emergencies or disputes" between next Tuesday and the Electoral College meeting in December. -
If we're talking Broncos, I prefer this one: Icon Ford Bronco

Despite Sandy, Sentinels Stand Guard at Tomb of the Unknowns
MacGyver replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm guessing that even if Congress in their ineptitude were to strip funding for this, that our soldiers would still find a way to honor the memory of their brothers who never came home - even if that meant doing it on their own time and finding another way to pay for it. I'd certainly donate to the cause. -
Best moderately priced weapon light??
MacGyver replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I want several things: 1. LED bulb - better as far as shock sensitivity is concerned and as far as consistent output is concerned. 2. Waterproof - I'm waterproof - my light needs to be as well 3. Shockproof - both lights stick out past the end of the barrel - they're going to absorb some energy 4. Operation - I've got small hands. I need to be able to actuate the switch without adjusting my firing grip. This includes both a momentary on press and a full-on rocker movement. I can't do it with the TLR series. 5. Holster availability - with the Streamlight and Surefire series, this shouldn't be a problem. Get out beyond that and your selection may be sparse. 6. For me, I want a more focused beam as opposed to a full flood effect. This is a matter of personal preference, and in a typical household environment won't much matter. The x300 is going to reach out a lot further than the TLR series will. After all that, it needs to pass my carry test. That is, I need to carry it day in and day out for a while without it failing or feeling like it might. A lot of gear fails this test, and I'm not particularly hard on my gear. The wheat is separated from the chaff on a lot of tactical fluff when you actually put it into service and carry it. -
In my opinion the only good snow is snow that is so deep that you have no option but to stay home. Get a fire going. Make some hot drinks. Maybe some sledding.

Best moderately priced weapon light??
MacGyver replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Come by anytime you want to check out the light or the holster. Frankly the offer stands open to anyone who wants to check out a x300 and a TLR-1 or TLR-3 side by side. You'll likely be perfectly happy with the Streamlight unless you compare it to the Surefire. Put them next to each other, and you'll be like, "oh." It's simply a better light. full disclosure: I still keep a TLR-3 on my Walther P99 because the rail isn't long enough to take a Surefire. That said, it's also one of the reasons I switched from the P99 to a G19 for everyday carry. -
Best moderately priced weapon light??

Since we're talking about a Glock, Comp-Tac does make a tuckable light compatible holster for it. -
Best moderately priced weapon light??

Occasionally. By the time you strap on a full size weapon, the light doesn't really add that much. The surefire is slimmer than most. -
Best moderately priced weapon light??

I do. I carry a government sized Kimber Warrior with a Surefire X300 in a Raven Concealment Phantom LC holster. My Glock 19 is similarly outfitted. -
Best moderately priced weapon light??
MacGyver replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I am a light junkie. I have bought a lot of lights over the years. The Surefire X300 pretty much ended my search. I haven't bought another light since trying this one out. You can find cheaper ones, but you won't find a better one. Raven Concealment makes holsters to fit most standard weapons with most kinds of lights. -
I tried out a stippled grip that someone put on an M&P last week and it was amazing. It was do grippy that you could literally feel the stipple grip insert acting as the anchor point in your hand. It was like the rest of the grip was moving a fraction of an inch and that grip panel was staying put.

The thought is that during a stressful situation, fine motor skills degrade proportionally as stress increases. Physically racking the slide is a gross motor movement that you're more likely to be able to perform under stress.
