  1. Next step is to identify a facilitator for the group buy - basically a group to escrow payment info until we have enough orders and then pass them all to the manufacturer.
  2. Man, I hate to hear that.    Cancer sucks!
  3. I expect it's just a shot across the bow to give that presidential exploratory committee something to work on. Talk about taking the wind out of a presidential bid before it even starts...
  4. A couple of outlets starting to mention Tannerite as a potential source...   See, there is a way to tie it back to gun owners.
  5. I'll say this, and people can take it for what it's worth.   I wouldn't place any of my money with Goldman Sachs.  They've got political favor and sway with both parties - they can game the system with either party in office.  Problem is that we're in uncharted economic territory, and they're making increasingly large bets with less and less expertise.  Sooner or later they're going to get hit with a "black swan" type event and it's going to be brutal.   If I were a client, I'd be seriously asking whether they're adding value or just performing some financial engineering tricks.   They're not the only ones.
  6. My AAC upper has a pistol length system and it's reliable with everything, light and heavy.
  7. Import regulations keep them from putting the collapsible stock on the M4s sold here. It's a fixed stock unless you replace it with an aftermarket one.
  8.   It would be a great foundation for a 10" piston driven .458 SOCOM pig killer.
  9. Someone we know just got a few.  I'll try and get a picture of one.   My understanding is that it is a standard "milspec" (to the extent you could call any semi-auto lower) "milspec" lower - no fancy embellishments.
  10. It's evaporation.  A Zippo is good for about a month without being topped off - in good conditions.   I replaced my factory inserts with these and solved the problem:   http://www.wannalight.com/kgm-vector-butane-flip-top-standard-lighter-insert.html
  11. He's not a big state govenor, but a lot of people are talking about his ambitions for the White House.  They've certainly got the money to give it a go.
  12. To keep it simple, we'll likely have one option.  There are (generally) plenty of other sources for stripped lowers.   I don't know what the graphic will look like, but I'm sure we'll make it public before we ask people to commit.
  13. They're 5.56 lowers.  As David said above, there will be no Paypal option.  It would be against their Terms of Service.
  14. Paypal couldn't be used even if we wanted to.  You'd likely be subject to them shutting the whole thing down for violation of their TOS.
  15. The whole concept worries me too.  If you've got specific concerns, PM me.  But, understand that we're only going to do this if we can work it out so that it is safe for everyone to participate.
  16. So we have the opportunity to do a group buy on billet machined lower receivers.  We're still in the planning stages, but these will likely be laser engraved with the TGO logo and a custom serial range.   One of our members who has an impeccable reputation in the shooting community has opened up a dialog with a national manufacturer who would produce the lowers for us.    We have some things to work out.   I'm always concerned with people getting screwed on group buys.  And, we'll need to work with some of our vendors to receive the lowers to do transfers.   There will hopefully be more to come in the coming weeks, but for now, I just want to guage interest.  Understand, that we won't do a purchase without money in hand - we're not leaving anyone holding the bag because you said you wanted 10 receivers and then can't pay for them.   If we order 50, they'll be around $125.  If we order 100, they'll drop to $115.  This may change a little bit as we firm things up.   Have at it.
  17. Cool!
  18. The gas operating system makes it an absolute pleasure to shoot.  It's probably the softest shooting 12ga. I've ever shot.    To put the recoil in perspective, it's my wife's goto home defense weapon.  Say that about your 12ga.
  19. That sucks!  I'm really sorry to hear that.
  20. Here's the source behind the graph for anyone who is inclined to look at it:   http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2013/03/corporate-profits-are-eating-the-economy/273687/   I plan to spend a little time on this when I get some free time.
  21. The crash that comes next is going to make Lehman Brothers look like a Sunday afternoon picnic in the park. Just saying... Note the blue line above with significant dips represented by Black Monday, the dotcom bust and the credit/housing crisis. We've got the stage all set. Where's the next cliff?
  22. The M4 is a truly great shotgun. Be careful if you shoot one - after you do, you'll compare every other shotgun you shoot to it and be disappointed.
  23. How to offend four groups of geeks with one photo: Bonus points if you heard Patrick Stewart reciting this quote as you read it.
