  1. Used to be made in the USA.  Most of their lower tier scopes are made offshore now days.  Much to our chagrin...
  2. No private company can compete with an entity that is willing to lose money quarter after quarter. If your end goal is a single payer system, the ACA is a brilliant opening move.
  3. I'll let them know.
  4. Closing this one down. We'll start PM'ing pricing this afternoon. If you want to do something in the meantime, you can go register for an account over on CMT's site. Once we get everyone registered, we'll switch everyone to a TGO group from which you'll be able to pay for and fulfill your order for your choice of lowers, uppers and BCGs.
  5. I'm a pretty harsh judge of a burger, but Burger Republic has a pretty good one.
  6. Best crab cake I've ever eaten came from J Paul'z in Mount Pleasant.
  7. Cool!
  8. Yeah, our modern military hates any system that is a "single mission" system.  One could argue that the Warthog is really only good at punching big holes in things.   Of course, sometimes, you just need a simple tool that can break stuff well enough that it can't be fixed.  The A-10 has always excelled at that job.
  9. As someone who grew up in the 70's and 80's, I look on the mothballing of the A-10 as a real loss to our military - for the Air Force pilots who loved to fly it, and the Army grunts who love the sound of its 30mm close air support.   Linking this article just for the picture of the avenger cannon that the place is built around: http://kotaku.com/a-sad-farewell-to-the-coolest-fighter-jet-of-all-time-1374187357   And the source: http://www.dodbuzz.com/2013/09/18/air-force-mourns-likely-passing-of-a-10-warthog/?comp=700001076338&rank=6
  10. If enough people would simply take an anti-incumbent stance and refuse to send anyone back to Washington - basically a voter-enacted term limitation, Congress would change in a major way.   At that point, I'm not sure it would matter nearly as much what letter, R, D or otherwise follows their name.  Everyone would do a better job representing their own constituents.
  11. If the aforementioned sound of freedom bothers you, there's always a silent buffer spring: http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.7.2_os.php They're not cheap, but it'll take the cheese grater sound right out of your rifle.
  12. Hard to go wrong with a classic Swiss Army Knife. I've still got mine that I got when I was 8. I'd personally skip the self defense part with a child and really work on proper handling.
  13. That's epic! Good luck.
  14. Makes great sense really.  Just don't cry foul when you find yourself with a label attached.   After all.  The data won't lie, right?
  15. The Internet...the last government teat onto which to get people attached.
  16. I hope that when I die, my friends and family remember me this fondly:   http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/savannah/obituary.aspx?n=william-mccullough&pid=166950349#fbLoggedOut
  17. The thing about Alexander and Corker is that they've got a lock on the business money in this state as long as they want it.  They're reliable to the entrenched business interests in the state, and the business money keeps putting them in office because of it.   So, if you really want to see change, you're going to have to get involved at the street level.  We can make it happen, but it's not going to be a simple matter of showing up at the polls come primary day.
  18. Well.... The tree of liberty does need a good watering every now and then, you know?
  19. Are they going to get the chance to vote on it?   I know the House is trying to pass something, but there's no way Reid is going to even consider bringing it up much less bringing it to a vote in the Senate.   Mind you, I'll vote for a Democrat before I vote for either Alexander or Corker again.
  20. Are they doing fiber to the house?  Or are they doing fiber to the POP and a couple twisted pairs to the house?  Either way it makes me kind of angry.   Fiber is expensive.  In Tennessee, despite the fact that it's come down a lot in recent years, laying last mile subterranean fiber is still just shy of $800/ft.
  21. Interesting.  Yeah, that picture is a lot clearer.  I don't know what would really be intended for.  The guy did a nice job on the finished blades, though!
  22. It's got a lot of potential.  It's not quite there, yet.   Having had one of the first ones they shipped to developers, it offers a lot of potential.  But, as far a usable apps go, at least right now I'd still classify it as a cool gizmo to impress your friends.
  23. That is a good looking knife.  Is that jimping on the back of the blade or do they have some serration going on?
  24. Neither of my children knew who he was.  We found some old episodes on PBS's site.  They did in fact recognize his neighborhood from Daniel Tiger.  I will say that Fred Rogers is timeless.  He was a hit with my kids.
  25. That's exactly how I take the letter - "you guys let up or you're going to find yourselves unwelcome here."   It's a one time opportunity for these guys to change their course without more suffering more severe consequences of having these stores officially post.
