  1. If ever there was a varmint for which the .17HMR was designed, it's the armadillo.   Those ballistic tips versus their hard shell and soft guts...bleh.
  2. Sounds like it was a great trip.  That's a nice redfish, too!
  3. They eat them down in Louisiana and East Texas.  That's where all the leprosy cases are reported, too.  Coincidence?
  4. Neat video.  Pretty sure I'd be dead or in a coma by dinner time...
  5. They're a nuiscance, and they're definitely on the move.  I remember as a kid down in Georgia, there was a guy out on Cumberland Island whose sole job was to drive around in this old Toyota pickup and shoot armadillos on sight.  Most days, the bed of his truck had dozens, if not more dead ones.   Be careful touching them - alive or dead.  They're know to be able to transmit leprosy to humans.  Almost a third of the reported cases of leprosy every year are due to armadillo contact.
  6. If elections were Friday, he'd win by a larger margin than he did in November. Boehner will be remembered for holding an opposition as long as he has with as little as he's got. But, while you might be able to argue that the GOP is trying to take the first step of getting the defense off the field, they're a long way from being able to mount an effective offense.
  7. Sweet rig. Nice work, Spook!
  8. I use Lee dies, but I'm not using much cast stuff, yet.  I'm going to let Gordon and Caster do all the beta work and then benefit from their experience :)   I've not had any issue with jacketed stuff.
  9. Nope. It's your property. You can pretty much carry as you see fit.
  10. At $2.50/round, I'd bet you could get everything you need to roll your own and be ahead by the time you got to your 80th piece of brass.
  11. All the stuff to do a pistol caliber build on a standard lower is removable.  I say go for it.   I sure do like DDLES's dedicated glock mag lower, though.  Works just like it should.
  12. I'm with Mac here, guessing that no one has ever been charged, but if the wanted to check composition, it's a pretty easy task on an x-Ray machine set up to do fluoroscopy.
  13. Yeah, it can be pretty low this time of year. We were looking at it earlier last month and called the rangers about water levels. His reply was, "oh yeah, you can totally do a canoe trip. How far are you wanting to carry them?" That's what pushed us to the Green river instead. Being between two dams not too far outside the national park boundaries, it was about 100 feet wide, about 10 feet deep, and you didn't really even have to paddle unless you just felt like it.
  14. Good to hear! Good luck.
  15. We didn't ask them to do anything but their normal transfer. If they want to offer anything on their own they're more than welcome to post it. We actually had a hard time getting FFLs on board. The three we've got jumped at the chance. We had several others offer, but I wasn't comfortable sending our members to an FFL out of someone's house who has zero post history here.
  16. They'll have to check it out. I've sent it on to them, but it may realistically be Monday. Thanks for being patient.
  17. So you were logged in? I've got a list of 5 people who didn't get their accounts switched, but yours isn't among them.
  18. You're on the list we provided to CMT, assuming you registered with the same email you gave me. We'll have to check into it.
  19. So long as your contact info is good with CMT, you should be good to go with our three major FFLs.  If you're shipping to another FFL of your choice, then you'll need to have them fax or email a copy of their FFL to CMT before the lower can be shipped.
  20. As long as we're talking rivers through National Parks, I love Big South Fork, too.  Going from Leatherwood Ford past Station Camp to Blue Heron may be one of the prettiest river trips in the Southeast.  As long as they've got water, that's 26 miles of easy paddling and totally under pressured fishing.
  21. Glad it's a good experience for y'all.   All the credit goes to Jeff and the guys at CMT.  They've really gone above and beyond what any rational person would expect to pull this off and to have these lowers manufactured in Tennessee!
  22. I was up at Mammoth Cave a couple weekends ago floating the Green River from Dennison Ferry out to Houchins Ferry.      I can say that it was 19.5 mile of our national heritage that I truly enjoyed!
