  1. Likewise, if you don't want it to be anonymous, you're welcome to forward it to him yourself as well.
  2. Dave, send me the voucher code, and I'll send it to him.  I talked to him, and he's on an iPhone, so it wasn't obvious as to where it was.
  3. With further inspection, these have been photoshopped - unless that Obama/Morgan model is a left-handed 1911.   Fitting maybe, but man would that ever offend some folks.
  4. Something's wonky about their pictures - besides having Obama on a 1911.  I'm assuming they mean that top picture to look like both sides of the same firearm, but neither has a safety or slide release.  Likewise, on the bottom, both contain safeties and slide releases.   So, I think their scrimshaw guy got the grips wrong and they tried to compensate for the pictures.  According to the grips, you either get the Obama/Morgan model or the Bush/Nugent model.
  5. I don't think you need to do anything.  I'll let you know when I hear back from the user.
  6. He's got to 'activate' the gift.
  7. I must have looked over it with the capitalization of the 'C' instead of the 'r' in your username, but welcome to TGO, Doug.  I've enjoyed your blog for years!
  8. I read that article this morning.  The whole thing is worth a read. My favorite quote from the article:        "The thought nagged at me that I was enabling the same government-sanctioned bigotry my father had fought so hard to escape."
  9. As it turns out, heavy wheel movements on a ship of any size can be terribly effective when employed appropriately.  The bow waves and wash generated by any of these ships travelling at speed can be devastating to a small craft.
  10. Maritime insurance regulations have historically been against it.  Likewise, it creates problems trying to gain entry in just about any country in the world.  As such, most transport companies have eschewed carrying firearms.   That said, the game is changing a bit.  The transport companies have adopted some interesting tactics reducing hijackings to zero in 2013.  This is down from 52 in 2009, the year Maersk Alabama was hijacked.
  11. Were I a funeral home director in Memphis right now, I'd wear my nice pajamas to bed.  I expect that we'll be seeing some early morning visits from the authorities as we learn more.
  12. Are you guys in Memphis following this story?   http://wreg.com/2014/01/27/caskets-crushed-to-make-room-at-overcrowded-cemetery/   There could be hundreds or thousands of unidentified graves in this place.  Forensic teams are going to be busy for years.
  13. David is pretty covered up this week, but in a uniquely good way. I'll ping him and see what I can find.
  14. That's great, Mikey!
  15. Officially, yes.  I was in the field 50 weeks a year for the last 4 years I was there, so I don't even remember if we maintained an office.
  16. I love their quote, "we start with the possibility that we will be in that location for decades, if not hundreds of years, to come."  This coming from a company that's existed in the same place since 1526.
  17. Early in my career I worked for Kroll.  Kroll OnTrack is the best in the business, but they're not cheap.
  18. I'm listening with VodkaPundit.
  19. RMJ Tactical should be your only stop as a Tennessean.  No one makes a better tomahawk than Ryan, and you can keep your business right here in Tennessee.   http://www.rmjtactical.com
  20. Without an income tax, the man has to make his money somewhere.
  21. My 7 year old has gotten into playing the original Colossal Cave Adventure that I got running on a Raspberry PI hooked up to the TV.  She loves drawing maps, and has been having fun with it.  "You're in a maze of twisty little passages all alike."   Infocom has made all of the Zork Trilogy available for free.  They run great in Frotz on Linux.
  22. Spend some time with each of these, and you'll see very quickly that it's not an either/or choice. A light and night sights address two different aspects of the problems associated with darkness.
  23. Both for me. It doesn't matter how bright your sights are if you can't identify what's down range. With the TFOs I run, the back scatter from the light makes the light pipes in the sights light up like a Christmas tree. It's not one or the other. It's a system.
  24. Y'all have found me out at last!
  25. I was going to just lock this thread down.  Instead, I think I'm just going to ban the poster and get on with my day...
