  1. Not to ruin all the love but.... Ok man you can have the last word. Glocks suck and No. For what it is worth I appreciate whats his name providing this place for us to gather and discuss and argue all sorts of trivial crap. I have been picking fights with thinga-ma-jigga from pretty much the start and I am still here. That is more than could be said for many internet forums. That said, I still hate you guys!
  2. Could one of the "Moderators" please fix this post. The quote in said post is being attributed to me but is actually a quote of Rightwinger. Originally intended to bring the tension between TGO Admin and ETS out in the open with hopes for a resolution. Who knew there was so much underlying animosity from other board members. As far as your invitation Tungsten....hmmmm......your newly married right?..........you think the wife would lend em to you for that long.
  3. Easy little brother no need to get all defensive. I am not attacking anyone. I am merely stating what I think is a better way to deal with the situation. Frank made TGO a more interesting place to be and his input will be sorely missed. The interested parties(of which I am not one) should sit down and talk about this like men. I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those uber sensitive issues so I will take my leave. Good Luck!
  4. That is what he has me for.
  5. I stopped by and talked to Frank today and he saw you at the show. And evidently when you saw him you and the mrs. and Tungsten and his mrs. took a hard left and walked in the other direction. Although he did mention that redhead1911 waved to him. Uncertainty or not, deliberate avoidance is a good way to breed contempt. Tungsten is fully within his rights to make desicions concerning possible illegal activities on this site. Once those desicions are made however then deal with the consequences. An out of state Friends of the NRA chapter is now holding the raffle for the rifles that Frank has. Evidently your concerns are not unfounded or else he would still be doing the raffle. All that said, I got the feeling today that you guys deliberatly avoiding him left him questioning whether or not you had any balls.
  6. I was in there when it came in it is a very nice piece. Congrats!

    My "russian" AK47

Very nice comrade. Now get that muzzle threaded so you can add some Evil:devil: muzzle devices.
  8. I can do that with any of my AK's and my Glocks.

    Hobson Pike Range?

I usually go on Saturdays. Every couple of months I sneak away from work early on Friday and head out there usually I have the range pretty much to myself. I have the annual membership and one of the advantages is when the RSO's see the green card they tend to leave you alone of course I know 75% of them by their first names. I have seen some be a little overzealous but then again I have also seen some very careless shooters out there and unless you are a regular the RSO has to assume the worst.

  15. Bigfoot you say? Check out this forum: http://www.bigfootforums.com/index.php?showtopic=21886&mode=threaded&pid=444738 Now you can return to your pointless repetetive arguments about Glocks:blah:
  16. The word from the SHOT show is the SCAR-L in the latter half of 08' and the SCAR-H in the first part of 09'. Patrick Sweeney backs up this claim in the latest issue of Guns & Ammos Combat Arms(for what that is worth). Price will be $1500-$2000 range.
  17. Nope I will be spending my money on th FN SCAR-L
  18. I think I am going to buy the Polish underfolder from him. Thanks.
  19. Well said. I am starting to believe that all Glocks should be 9mm. Reloaded ammo or factory. I have a Glock 23 that I carry but I shoot 9mm through it almost exclusively. You rarely(ever?) hear of Glock 9mm Kb!

    Rifle for protection

I was sitting at the airshow today with a fellow kalashnaholic and he corrected me that the original milled guns did have threaded barrel joints. All stamped and most milled have pinned in barrels though. So now I understand what you are talking about. That said I have/had mostly Vepr(Russian), Arsenal(Bulgarian), Hungarian, Polish and Chinese variants. Across the board they have all been quality rifles. Right now you can buy a $575 high quality AK from Mark Graham at www.arizonaresponsesystems.com These rifles are GTG from the start and he will back his product. There are other quality builders you just need to research them before you spend money. Oh well learn something new everyday.

If this was a "there can be only one" scenario then I would have to choose a FAL.

    Glock owners...?

Any trigger mods could absolutely be used against you. Remember that the jury won't necessarily be 12 gun owning intelligent Americans. The only things I have done to my Glocks are night sights and slightly reshaping the underside of the triggergaurd where it meets the frame to relieve Glock knuckle as welll as allowing for an even deeper grip purchase.

I am curious as to where you are getting your information on the current state of AK gunsmithing. Me-thinks perhaps you have history with a Century arms product? Before you give your opinion on something perhaps you should have a clue what you are talking about. AK barrels are press fitted not "screwed in to tight" Ahhh okay you are an AR guy. That makes sense. Hey I like AR's they are in the top 5 as far as military rifles go. You could very well be perfectly happy with an AR as long as you run it wet. And you can afford the ammunition to feed it. The #1 rule should be the AK is not an AR so don't treat it like one. The OP asked what would be a good CDR(Civilian Defense Rifle) and most here correctly suggested the AK as the best overall option. That does not mean that the AR is not also a good option however there are just as many crap AR's out there as there are JimBob's Gunsmithing AK's. Educate yourself before making such a blanket statement.
