  1. You need to post pics. It sounds like possibly the front sight base is cross threaded or you have a good old fashioned canted front sight base. It is hard to tell without seeing the rifle. I also live in Smyrna, PM me and possibly we can get together and take a look at it. I will be unavailable until later this afternoon. You could also try The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet. I am sure they have the tool not so sure they would have a Front sight post. C_O nice big dots.

  5. Yes, you can screw the front sight post out and screw a replacement in. You will need a new front sight post and a AK sight tool. These are readily available at every gunshow or just Google them. It is probably a $10-$15 fix. You could take this opportunity to get night sights for your AK. 7. I bet they are US made mags especially being 5.56.....Figures, Commie guns don't like capitalist pig ammo. I also own an Arsenal SLR107CR and they are great but my $350 dollar Mak-90 conversion is just as accurate, reliable and actually shoots better. Now the milled Arsenals are a different story:love:
  8. What is so damn funny meow? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jln8RBjZFiw&feature=related[/ame]
  9. When in doubt I always check Gunbroker. The Egyptian Maadi is considered as close to a Russian AK as you can buy without getting the real thing. The Egyptians bought the entire manufacturing facilities and parts from Russia. The Russians went to Egypt and set up the facilities for the Egyptians. The pre-ban Maadi's are going for $1500+ in good condition. Yours appears to be a post-ban import most likely imported by ACC/Intrac of Knoxville. These rifles can be found for $500 or so, maybe more or maybe less. I would keep the rifle and convert it. Just buy yourself a stockset(KVAR) and a Tapco G2 fire control group and Rock On! If you would like a real *****cat look into a AK-74 in the Soviet 5.45x39mm. The 5.45 has even less recoil than a 5.56 and is ballistically similar. If there is such a thing as an unreliable kalashnikov they are more likely than not chambered in the capatilist pig 5.56. The very case design of the Soviet cartridges aid in reliability(angular vs. straight). Don't sell it! If you do PM me first. 10. Good man! I prefer AK's to AR's. Sounds like a mag issue. What kind of mag is it?
  11. Thanks Bill...I guess I need the "Thug Life" tatoo across my abdomen.....or in my case it could read...."Yeah bit@hes, straight living thug life up in this here motherf%cker!.....Sho nuff"
  12. Yeah,Tell Me About It:x:
  13. Now this is my kind of financial advisor.
  14. I agree that Obama will be the next President. I don't think that means he will instantly order door to door gun confiscation all the while implementing his communist agenda. Of course I could be wrong. While I am not looking forward to it..we have survived a Democratic President before. I agree with those that say he will be this generations Carter.
  15. Herradura Silver, Gold or Platinum all are amazing Tequilas. Do yourself a favor though and get some Don Julio. The wife and I have a small vacation rental in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico and down there Don Julio is the king of Tequila. Dangerously smooth(maybe even moreso than Herradura) goes down as easy as iced tea. MMMmmm....MMMmmmmm....yummy
  16. Guys the pictured rifle is NOT mine. It belongs to a member of www.theakforum.net I have been collecting the parts and pieces and currently have about 97% of what I need to complete the build. If I build the rifle it will end up costing about $1200 total. If I get a "professional" to build it then it will be $1500+. I will keep you posted.
  17. Rabbi I don't drink very often anymore so when I do it is generally a treat so I like to spoil myself.
  18. You finally got a AK?
  19. I was talking to Rabbi............. Last night when I glanced over the original thread it reminded me of a thread he and I were a part of at getoffthex.com I did not post a reply but the last post I remebered was Rabbi commenting that the differences in bourbons was mild compared to the differences in Scotch. He is correct comparatively but I still feel the difference in bargain basement and top shelf bourbons is vast. I have not personally touched a bottle of Early Times in 15 years so that was just the cheapest crap I could think of off the top of my head. Grandad is not even in the conversation IMHO. The Evan Williams is good and so is Booker's and Blanton's but my personal preference is Woodford. As far as vodka I like Ketel One and Stohli's. On a side note: Once while on a couple days off in Warsaw, Poland my cohorts and I check into the hotel and make plans to meet in the hotel bar to sample the local potato water. Much to our suprise when we get to the bar they have maybe 5 different vodkas and over 20 whiskeys and bourbons. We ended up drinking Booker's with Sam Adams beer back. Go figure! We were more successful in our potato water search the next day at a local house of ill repute. As far as Scotch goes I think I have too many southern in-bred redneck genes to appreciate it honestly:shrug: Not that thats a bad thing.
  20. You were wrong anyway. There is a huge difference between Old Grandad or Early Times Bourbon and Woodford Reserve or Blantons.
  21. By the way is there any rhyme or reason to the titles under our user names. I am a Senior member with 400+ posts yet Tower is only a Member with 1900+ posts? Part of the Glitch?
  22. Between that and your super secret avatars and now this....Dude you suck!
  23. Mohammed was and is considered a prophet not a God.Likewise the enlightened Prince Sadarta became the Buddha. Buddha means "enlightened one". Now Vishnu is a God the supreme ruler of all(9000+) Hindu Gods.
