Mazal Tov! So will I see you out at Stones River this Sunday?
-
If true, this would be a good time to bring back public hangings.
-
That is so true! I had my back blow out the day after a range session with a 91/30. My chiropractor loves that gun!
-
I got a case of Golden Tiger 124grain 7.62x39 from AIM surplus two weeks ago for $174.42 total shipped to my front door. The Golden Tiger is not only cheaper but it is cleaner than WOLF.

I would think that a warrior is one who has proven themselves in conflict. Many people can claim to be a warrior but a warrior is a title earned by deeds not just talk. That said I do believe one can try to cultivate a "warrior mindset" to try and better prepare themselves for conflicts and how to attack a given situation. If you don't think about and/or prepare for the worse case scenario you will be ill prepared to deal with it.

This is another example of why you should beat your kids! Teach em respect young or they will never have it.

Welcome aboard.

But evidently you can do it occasionaly? Must need to practice more. Yeah but that was all against those IDPA plebe's.(ever shoot against Sevigny?) That must have been a relief! I am gonna have to start telling every average shooter I know to get rid of their lame stock Glocks, XD's, 1911's and get red dot sights and magwells and compensators and speed scabbards..Oh and might as well get one of those carry permit badges since they'll be open carrying. Every time my wife fixes enchiladas. If you classify ability by how fast you can clear a stage then have fun playing gun games. The bottom line is that Travis is the son of a competitive shooter who had the opportunity to become a member of the AMU his JOB is to shoot. He better be good at it. I am a professional audio engineer. I work for the world's largest sound company. I bet I can spin up 12 mixes on a stage in an arena full of 40,000 people fast enough to make the average church sound guy say damn(no offense intended church sound guys). It is my job and I am good at it. However, those same church sound guys could probably get pretty good at it also if they had to do it everyday. Have you ever been shot at? I have I'm still alive that's what I call success. I think competitive shooting is a good way to learn and have some fun while you practice gunhandling and marksmanship skills. However, being an elitist about which type is better pretty much shows you miss the point. IDPA is a good way for the "average" shooter to practice said gun skills without missing a mortgage payment. If IPSC is your cup o' tea have at it. Toodles.....Oh and yes I am impressed by his ability that is pretty darned fast.

No need to apologize if we agreed about everything all the time this place would be boring.
-
Last time I checked I felt great about myself. I am not denying the guy is Fast(ooooh). All I am saying is if anyone put in the time he obviously has they should be able to achieve similiar results. Oh and I usually carry my mags weakside under a cover garment and my glock doesn't have a magwell the size of the Grand Canyon.
-
I have to agree with Rabbi and Marswolf. If you had the gear and the time that should be achievable for any of us.
-
That is true it does have to be a lockable hard case. I have always kept my ammunition in hard plastic ammo boxes separate from the gun. All in all it is a fairly easy process. Just make sure you read and know the rules.
-
I regularly fly with my handgun. All you do is keep the handgun in it's own locked case and the ammo in a factory(or plastic)box. You declare the firearm at the ticketing counter and a unloaded firearms tag is placed in the case with the gun. That is then placed in your checked baggage and off you go. It is a good idea to have a copy of TSA and Your Carriers firearms policy. Also it is illegal for anyone to place a tag on the outside of your bag indicating it contains a gun. I have had a desk clerk try this. Make sure you know the gun laws of whatever state you are headed to. Coincidentally, I have never been searched going through security when I checked my gun.

For me I think it is about familiarity. An 870 is the shotgun I have been shooting since I was a kid. There are alot of very cool autoloaders out there tops on that list for me is probably the Benelli M4. I like the Saiga 12 because I am a Kalashnikov freek even though it recoils like a mule. I saw the AA12 on Discovery's Future Weapons about 6 months ago but I will never be able to own one(cool though). So for me I will stick with whats comfortable. Oh and I keep mine loaded on safe. Counting on someone being terrified by the mere sound of the action is a bunch of crap.
-
I am not sure how strictly it is enforced but according to Tennessee code it is illegal to have your magazines loaded. I would imagine headed to or coming from the range you would probably not get to much hassle. I would think that the SKS and strippers would be faster to load than the lever gun.
-
Carrying a loaded rifle in your vehicle is illegal in tennessee. Carrying a magazine-fed rifle unloaded with loaded magazines elsewhere in your vehicle is also illegal. However, carrying a unloaded SKS with loaded stripper clips elsewhere in your vehicle is NOT illegal. Go figure?
-
Pump although seriously considering a SAIGA 12.

Heretic.....absolutely. Unsafe.......don't you know all guns are unsafe. Besides the Kel-Tec may be one of the few guns uglier than my Glocks! Browning........yeah,yeah I know. Authority...I probably should have used a different word like..deadliness. I carry a handgun(s) for isolated instances. The rifle I see as more of a tool in case of a SHTF situation were I would have to get my wife and kids and I home. Most people see the AK 47 as the tool of terrorists and drug dealers. I have had an off duty policeman ask me if my VEPR(RPK) was a Rock River! Without the wood and 30 round mag the gun has a completely different look. Yet it still is EVIL enough to possibly deter a group of thugs. Mark@Sea's original criteria was:"Should be low maintenance, dependable, hard worker (some caliber larger than .22x), and cost $500 or less." I think you would be hard pressed to find many rifles that fit that criteria better than an AK. As far as "sheeple" jumping to the wrong conclusion, oh well you can't fix liberals but at least I cancel my wifes(bleeding heart tree hugging liberal) vote every election.
-
I can relate with that approach. I was thinking about a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm(cheap,takes Glock Mags, accurate enough). However for me a Folding stock AK with polymer furniture and Hungarian 20 round mags does not scream terrorist and has way more authority. Plus it is locked in a truck vault(locking sliding steel drawer). The guys over at warriortalk have a fighting lever gun forum. There is a whole bunch of great information there. Here is the link:http://www.warriortalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=96

I'm not much of an AR guy but what the heck I'm in for a Sabre lower.
-
Yeah Jose and Charlie are both guilty. Oh well I never said they were gun guys. Jose swears that all the guns were loaded but I find that hard to believe. Although you never know with Ted.
