  1. Isn't this situation the whole reason HB 1907(Castle Doctrine) was recently passed. I would think the "average" citizen would be inclined to pull a gun sooner than the "trained" LE. After all the LE has self defense training that the "average" citizen does not. I would argue that the citizen does not have to show as much restraint as the LE because he would feel endangered sooner than the LE. I have already thought about the responsibilities and hazards of owning and using a gun for self defense. I am not gonna waste my time worrying about the repercussions of my actions. That is a split second I may not have. As the old saying goes I would rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.
  2. German ebonics maybe?
  3. You make blue no red cabbage with who or who and what?
  4. My daughter is three and my son is one. I had a vasectomy and now i'm done:D
  5. Brent that is a VERY nice looking gun. Bring it along whenever/wherever we end up shooting. Look I do not want you guys to get the wrong idea and think this is an ego driven challenge. I Love shooting rifles, revolvers, pistols and black powder. I want this to be an opportunity to put faces to names and for TGO as a community to get together and shoot. If you don't want to shoot 1000 rounds thats fine. I however am going to(I shot 400 today). Mars I would love to do some fun shooting at long distances. However, 25 yards(for accuracy) is a good challenge for most handgun shooters. Oak Ridge is an option where? when? Logistically I realize this could be a pain in the ... for some people. Oh well any ideas?
  6. If we do all that we might as well go to a IDPA, IPSC or USPSA. And just invade a match en masse.
  7. Everybody shoots offhand 7,15 and 25 yards. Any further than that and I will be using a rifle. Besides lets be realistic in most defensive situations unless you are getting shot at you are not going to be taking a 50 yard handgun shot. This is a test of reliability, functionality and accuracy. I am not opposed to benchresting the guns for an accurate gauge of inherent accuracy. But I feel that the majority of the rounds should be fired offhand. This will test succeptibility to limp wristing and other shooter related problems. We should shoot some strong hand only and some weak hand only. Remember this should be fun so let's keep that in perspective. I am serious about this so Mars, Tower, Molon, Tungsten(and anyone else) if you guys are, then when and where?
  8. I live in Middle Tennessee. I already have 1000 rounds of factory ammunition (I do not shoot reloads in my Glocks). Although I really wouldn't have a problem shooting 9mm reloads in my gun. IF I loaded my own. Do you want to make this reloaded ammo only? When and where?
  9. I don't expect to be the best shot..although I don't expect to be the worst either. I just figure it would be a good excuse to get together and shoot alot. I'll be using a Glock 34. Hopefully we can get a pretty good group together with as many guns as possible represented.
  10. Alrighty then.. I tried to be diplomatic but you guys insist on living in your fantasy world. Anytime you guys want to put your money were your mouth is lets take you and your H&K, Sig, or yes especially 1911's and me and my Glock plus 1000 rounds each. We'll shoot 10 round groups for accuracy every 100 rounds and tally scores. Of course we will have to deduct for FTF, FTE and of course a kB! Winner gets his ammunition paid for and dinner at the restaurant of his choice. Oh and losers forfeit their rights to talk any trash(on TGO) about what they think is the best handgun. Not that this will prove anything but what the hell win or lose it should be fun.
  11. Not going to deny that H&K is a very high quality product. I am not sure their customer service is what it should be. But then again they do not break very often. Here is a link to an H&K kB and surprise reloaded ammunition! Although the barrel remained intact he does say the frame cracked. http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/hk-expert.html This is a major breakthrough! You may be wearing down. I agree it is not GLOCK Perfection. However, even with it's flaws it is a solid firearm that just plain works.
  12. Welcome Aboard:)
  13. Good point Tower. I'm bad enough and we do still have to feed the kids...hmmm. Nice Sig line by the way:D
  14. Welcome to TGO and congratulations on your gun ownership.
  15. +1000 Luke! Good Post. Even though I use primarily 155-165 grain(better ballistics) bullet setback is absolutely a reality. Never chamber a round more than 3 times!(Yet another rule of three)
  16. Actually the main reason for so many KB's in Glocks is reloaded and or overloaded 40 S&W ammunition. While it is true the 1911 has a unsupported chamber this is usually much less of an issue in the .45 because it is a low pressure round. I have heard of a G21(45) KB and that was ammo related so it can happen to any gun. Hey bottom line is opinions are like everybody has one. I like Glocks and so do 65% of the LE agencies in the country and it is the most widely issued military sidearm on EARTH. But hey a million peasants can be wrong. Whatever makes you happy. Oh and on the original post. The 21SF looks cool. I am not familiar with the 45 GAP and I don't really see a need to replace the 45 ACP but whatever floats your boat. Rock Out With Your Glock Out:rock:

    What Do You Prefer??

I prefer the AK over the AR. That said the AK is pretty much designed to be used out to a Maximum of 300 yards. Sounds like you are on the right track with the FAL. Out to 750 yards you are gonna be MOM(minute of man) or better. If you are truly looking for accuracy out to 1000 yards then you are going to need a bolt gun.
  18. +100 They are just tools. If you are afraid to scratch em chances are you are never gonna use them. This is why I choose Glock/AK combo. These weapons were not made pretty they were made to fight. And who cares if they are ugly. There are many beautiful guns out there I just personally prefer form to follow function.
  19. Welcome Aboard:)
  20. Welcome I think I need to introduce you to my wife. I think you would be good for her.
