  1. The Glock 23 is one of 4 guns I rotate as primary carry weapon. It fits my hand naturally and the low bore axis makes it handle quite well for me. I prefer to use my Glock 34 for gun games.
  2. I have only purchased ammunition from AIM surplus. That said even if the mags have some surface rust then a little oil and steel wool would fix any cosmetic problems. It is hard to stop a AK(European) mag from working. For my money Bulgarian polymer mags are lighter, rust-proof and just as indestructable. While I can see the advantages of the Bolt Hold Open mags, 99% of the mags you will come across would not have this feature. It would seem to be more prudent to train with regular AK mags.

  4. If you click on french military defeats it takes you to a page that details the long and futile history of french warfare. I believe the only win they have is the french revolution which was of course against the french!
  5. SKS, Marlin Lever 30-30, CZ 550
  6. Go to Google dot com and type in French military victories. Then click on the "I'm feeling lucky" tab. Enjoy!

  8. I have had good luck with Copes before. The main rule to live by is to buy only foreign AK mags. Stay away from any US made mags(sad but true). The Bulgarian "Waffle" polymer mags are probably the best. But Hungarian, Polish and Chicom stuff is just as reliable and functional. If you are relatively new to the AK then go here: www.akforum.net www.warriortalk.com www.akfiles.com
  9. Finally! Somebody else gets what I am talking about. The Arsenal is actually back at the factory having a ever so slightly canted front sight base corrected. I have submitted my form 1 along with fingerprints, blood sample, semen sample, lock of hair and a permission slip from my local constable... Anyway, I procured a barrel crowning tool(11 degree "target" crown) and two choices of muzzle devices and am just waiting for the gun and tax stamp to get back to me. I was originally intending to replace the gas tube with a Ultimak rail for a red dot but I have decided to stick with the Russian side mount. If it is good enough for my red comrades then it is good enough for me. This is what I am thinking to start of with: If I decide to go over the top I will probably go with something like this: I will keep you posted. Oh and slowride go to Rabbi and buy a Kahr it is a great carry gun and Bill is a first rate guy.
  10. I didn't post that to be a indictment of polymer framed Kahr pistols. Just a little education. My personal experience is with the K9 and if I was to buy another it would be the T9. It would really be cool if they came out with a T45.
  11. I have owned a K9 for several years and it is an outstanding gun. Great trigger, easy to conceal and suprisingly accurate. I would recommend the steel framed Kahrs to anyone. The polymer ones however are spotty at best. Check this out: http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=813088
  12. Well you just sold your Mosin so I was just wondering if you had your eyes on something new.
  13. I am a 7.62 fan myself. That said, the 5.45 is a good round and very comparable to the 5.56 and 5.45 ammo is still relatively cheap. Rabbi had one in his shop that was sweet! I don't know if he still has it or not but it was the nicest Century Arms gun I had ever seen! Atlantic Firearms sells a couple versions of these(If I remember correctly that is were Molon got his) here are the links: http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=455 http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=216 http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=367 http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=483 Molon I thought you were getting an Eotech for that thing? Now you are selling rifles. Sounds like you have your eyes on a new toy?
  14. I don't remember buying that from you.
  15. It's posted. Both of my kids born there also. Great nurses in the women's hospital they rock!
  16. Actually I just sent an Arsenal back to the factory to have that same problem fixed. Arsenals are supposed to be the best factory AK variant available in the US. It can happen with any AK. That said I do plan on buying a couple Saigas this year to go along with my VEPRs.
  17. Anyone familiar with Systema in the middle TN area. I would love to have a local source for training in either Systema or Krav Maga.
  18. My wifes parents bought her that piano when she was three. It was built in 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the best sounding upright I have ever played(that really isn't saying much).
  19. Mars my wife plays a mean dulcimer and she is already teaching my 4 year old daughter. Here is some of our acoustic instruments. Taylor 855 12 string 1970 Martin D-18. This is the first Martin I ever played it is 3 years older than me. My Father-in-Law is a luthier and this is one he built for my wife My father-in-law's passion is open backed banjos here is one he built for me a couple of years back This is probably one of my favorites it is a Canadian Simon & Patrick maple bodied flattop. I love the tone of this thing! And most importantly our piano. This is the instrument my wife and my kids and I either did or will start with. Notice Doc & Merle Watson jamming on top of the pianny!
  20. The Kalashnikov is the most reliable and widely used intermediate range battle rifle ever.
  21. Check with Rabbi. I am sure he could get you one for a more than fair bargain. www.eastsidegunshop.com Here is a couple picks of my Russian ladies.

    what would you buy

So I suppose you do not like the 1911 either. Because they do not have a fully supported chamber. And the volatility of the .40S&W would be a reason to dislike the caliber not a particular gun. Earlier generation Glock .40S&W pistols did have some ammo related kB issues. But guess what you can find plenty of pictures of other .40 S&W pistols that blew up also. Glock has since changed to a fully supported chamber in their .40 series guns. Next point? I get the strange feeling I have had this conversation before. This all seems so familiar did someone say something about open carry?

    what would you buy

Hmmm I see we have devolved once again.
  24. Hey wait a minute I live near the Airport. I have got to stock up on tin foil. Who knew SMYRNA stood for Some More Young Radicals Near Antioch.
  25. Try here: http://www.stormlakebarrels.com/item/43156_Storm_Lake_Barrels_and_Choke_Tubes_Storm_Lake_G23_barrel_con.aspx You can also get a .357 sig barrel and have 3 guns in one! I have no personal experience with any other barrel manufacturer but my Storm Lake has about 1500 - 2000 rounds through it with ZERO failures.
