  5. Actually I think we have done a pretty good job of keeping talks fairly civil on this particular "GLOCK" thread. I was wondering if Tyco...I mean Bryco Man would like to trade me one of his guns for my G23 sraight up!
  6. Good to see you guys today! For those that missed out, Bills wife makes a mean hamentaschen! Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
  7. Alright you guys got me thinking and I just ordered 2 kits one AMD-65 and the other a polish underfolder. I am going to go with nodakspud receivers. Oh well, I guess we'll see how this turns out!
  8. That is correct. Once you register it as an NFA weapon then 922r no longer applies.
  9. Should I bring a bottle of Woodford Reserve?
  10. Agreed, it is more common in Glocks. But there is also so many more Glocks than there are XD's, M&P's et cetera. By the way I am seriously thinking about buying an M&P .45.
  11. Ooookay whatever.... I guess all polymer pistols(H&K,Glock,XD,M&P,Kahr,Kel-Tec) will explode from bad ammunition. Ahhhhh yes.....drunk with POWER!
  12. Opinions are like....oh nevermind we have been through this. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2219&page=5

    for the glock haters

    Oops, Pow, Surprise!
  14. There is no "go to" AK smith around Nashville. I have thought about building my own Kalshnicopies but I just can't see myself doing anything more involved than a SAIGA conversion. Unlike an AR(which is basically an erector set) you need several specialized tools and jigs and gauges to insure a quality Kalashnikov build. I am waiting for a tax stamp myself and will be turning my Arsenal 107CR into an SBR AK 104 clone. However, I am having Chris Butler at AKUSA do the actual work. I am extremely anal about quality(and yes I am talking about AK's) and that is why I leave the building up to qualified smiths. If I built my own it would take forever to finish one gun! All that said if you are mechanically inclined and have the time and spare cash then more power to you. I need a local AK smith. The DIY forums at AK forum.net and AKfiles.com have tons of information. http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7 http://www.akfiles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4 There is also a AK manufacturer that specializes in Krinks that is located east of Knoxville. He could be a valuable contact:http://www.inrangec2.com/ Oh and the Bulgy at Eastside is a SSR-85 built on a Armory USA receiver. Thumbhole stock and the barrel is not threaded. I can't remember whether or not it has the scope rail but I think it does. It is a well built rifle. Good Luck and keep us posted.
  15. Nice armory(needs more AK's). How do you like the H&K LEM trigger?

  17. I am suprised no one has mentioned Guns & Leather. As far as selection, service, value and the best indoor range in Mid TN they are hard to beat. They have a huge selection and as long as you deal with one of the Williams(Dennis,Daniel or Ben) you will get excellent service. Their prices are cheaper than any I have seen other than Eastside. The range is awesome. Throw in a in-house custom leathermaker and a gunsmith and it is probably the best all around gun shop in the mid-state area. I window shop and shoot there and if I buy a gun it is either from Eastside(Rabbi, 1st choice) or Guns & Leather.

    The Flu...

I have it now........yes the flu sucks!
  22. Yeah it sucks(said in Eric Cartman voice)!
  23. The Ak lightning bolt is a mod which moves the charging handle to the left side of the receiver. In theory this allows for faster mag changes as you do not have to go under or over the receiver to charge the gun. It also allows you to charge the gun while the safety is engaged. It does however prevent the use of side mounted optics which would not really effect the Ultimak crowd and if you use the magazine as a vertical foregrip your thumb could be in for some serious hurt. Here are the links to the video demonstration: http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j196/actionpursuit1/?...current=MOV07823.flv http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j196/actionpursuit1/?...current=MOV07827.flv And here are the links to the GOTX threads http://getoffthex.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8241039892/m/5571075314 http://getoffthex.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8241039892/m/8691047414 I personally like to side mount optics so this would not be an option for me however the concept is pretty cool.
