Student suspended over picture of gun
cybernorris replied to MattCary's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Wonder how that school would respond if that had been the pic of Obama and the shotgun...? -
Picture of legal TCA 39-17-1319 Sign??
cybernorris replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I just wouldn't recommend letting the owner know that you're ignoring his sign. He still has the right to ask you to leave. -
Looking at getting a Glock G27. I've found a used Gen3. I could also buy a new Gen4 for about the same price (availability unknown for LE blue box). Any advice on the difference between the Gen3 and Gen4? This will be my EDC.

I think if we had mandatory military service in the US like Israel, then this wouldn't be quite as bit of an issue.

Ok, everybody, don’t call stores, call corporate. Here’s the number: (479)273-4000 That gets you the home office. Tell them you want to express an opinion and they’ll immediately transfer you to another line where you will talk to a real person who will take your comment and record the call. They are getting calls going both ways right now. They said that they have made not decisions going forward except to hear what Biden’s group says and then weigh that with the comments from their customers. So start calling. Have your family and friends call. Overwhelm their switchboard with calls and we may keep them on our side.

cybernorris replied to midtennchip's topic in Events and Gatherings
Would also like to know about any repeat seminars. -
There is a bad link to the Rules, Terms and Conditions at the top of the Firearms Classifieds. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/forum/39-firearms-classifieds/ .... look for the words "this link" to see where the bad link is. Discovered this while helping a new user figure out how to become a benefactor so he could post items for sale.

If he signed an affidavit giving false information, then yes he can be charged with filing a false report. Also admitting to driving without a license is enough for a judicial commissioner to issue a warrant. I wrote one over the weekend on a shoplifter who admitted to the arresting officer that he drove to Walmart on a suspended license.

Remember that the smell of alcohol is on your breath often long after it is consumed and after the body has taken care of it.

Received my Meyerco Law Dog today ... under $25 with shipping! Blade is pretty nice out of the package. Grip is good, feels solid and well balanced. The sheath holds it well, though it has a metal belt clip screwed on that doubles the thickness. It will probably come off as soon as I get some Loctite. Still will be in the market someday for a larger dagger to replace the Gerber, but for now I've got a solid blade that I can carry.

Honestly I'd love another Mark 1. The Mark 2 is skinnier on both the blade and the handle. I would like something similar in size... and probably as large as can be legally carried. My budget right now is quite tiny. That S&W looks almost identical to the Mark 1. Thanks for the links. ... and disregarding all of the above... I just grabbed a Meyerco Law Dog off Amazon based on what OhShoot wrote on here.

I've met a couple of Walmart loss prevention people in Coffee County. My understanding is they have specific instructions to not attempt to apprehend once the subject is off the sidewalk. They must stop the subject outside the door on the sidewalk. If the subject makes it to the asphalt, they are merely to gather information that can help police apprehend the subject. Again this is my understanding of what they told me.

I lost my favorite knife... a Gerber Mark 1that was purchased at the PX on Fort Leonard Wood in 1988 during basic training. It was an awesome knife that served me well for nearly 25 years. Stupid me had an full load of gear in my arms and set the knife on top of the car to find keys... and proceeded to drive off without retrieving the knife. While I would love to just buy another one, the prices on eBay are more than i'm willing to pay. I have no idea what's available in the world of knives. What knife might you suggest I consider as a replacement? Thanks!

Question on the LC9 ... held a couple today in the store. Definitely comfortable to hold. However with the slide locked back I was unable to release the slide with just my thumb... it required me to pull up my other hand to slightly push back on the slide before it would release. Is this the design of this gun? My other previous handguns have been a Beretta 92F, Browning BDA-380 and Ruger LCP... on each of these I could release the slide lock with just my thumb on each of these. I also held a PF9 today and was able to release its slide with ease.

Another vote for Hoselton in Tullahoma. Hero Gear under the current owner is not what it used to be.
-
Hoselton gun store and range between Tullahoma and Lynchburg is another option if you are south of the Boro.

Howdy from a former 278th ACR in Tullahoma. I too miss shooting, though have mostly done handguns in the past.

Does anyone here have any experience with antitrust law n Tennessee? I am working up a citizen's brief on an anticompetitive situation in certain government entities throughout the state. I have examples of how some other states have addressed the particular issue, but need to understand better how Tennessee deals with antitrust issue. I have a legislator who may be willing to submit he issue to the Attorney General for a private opinion. I would rather leave further details for private communication. Thanks.

Thanks. I'm now laughing that the Mosin is considered a "modern" rifle. I guess it was something of a ground breaker. I'd love to come out to a shoot to watch and take pics.
-
Howdy. Would you let a Mosin on the range? It was designed before 1900.

Call around. I woulda never considered a sporting goods chain store would have them. I'd bet just about any store would order one for you and try to match the mail order prices with all of the transfer fees. Tullahoma isn't too far from the Outpost.

Yesterday was the last day of the sale. I think regular price might be $119. Also because they are a new seller, TBI has them on some type of probation period so they can't call in background checks after 4pm. Kinda bummed. Netflix doesn't have Enemy At The Gates available to stream.

Dunham's was out of ammo. They sold nearly 20 in their grand opening week. I'll deal with the ammo problem in another week or two. It will probably Next week before I even have time to open the box. I'm not even sure where I can shoot other than the range. North of Manchester.

A buddy pointed me to some non-corrosive ammo...
