  1. Dittos. I wish I had known about Hero Gear before paying at least $75 too much at Executive Protection Bureau for my last handgun purchase. Kudos for Hero Gear!
  2. Dang sorry I missed this thread earlier ... Click here to view my slideshow of the event.
  3. I blew the chance to get it before Google bought it and closed it up. A buddy uses and loves it.
  4. The issue will be addressed after the election. If you're in Tullahoma, please vote for Greg only... don't give one of the other two an extra vote. FYI, the Mayor is also on our side in this issue. He is the only one who responded to an email I sent several weeks ago pointing out errors in a T-News article on the subject.

    380 ammo

    Hero Gear has had .380
  6. Hero Gear has had .380 for over a month now.
  7. That is kinda ironic, now that you point that out.
  8. David, I'm willing to brainstorm with you some if needed. However most of my perimeter protection experience has been using network level devices too. Norris Carden, CISSP, CISA

  11. I'm not a lawyer, but I can see that being interpreted as a threat. Remember, it's not the intent, but the perception that will get you arrested.
  12. Yes 929 37% No 1582 63%
  13. Interesting ... Executive Protection in Tullahoma will not allow qualification on any caliber smaller than 9mm or .32 (might even be .38). I questioned them on my .380, as my Browning BDA .380 is the same size as a compact 9mm... and they said ok.
  14. At this time I am unaware of any businesses in Tullahoma that have posted. When Al's range open, maybe we can have a get-together for pizza & shooting.
  15. A friend mentioned a pizza place in Cowan... anyone got info and opinion?
  16. Still see nothing on the doors at Fast Jack's or Daddy Billy's.
  17. When you mention a pizza joint, please include the city ... like where the heck is Gregs? Maybe I can find a way to build a poll from this thread and it can become a resource for traveling around the state.
  18. I've been unhappy with how little information can be placed on a biz card sized card.
  19. One thing to consider with a bad back is how well you can carry the additional weight. I am fused from T7-T11 after a helicopter assisted burst fracture at T9 in 1990. I still get massive pain from doing things like ironing and doing dishes. I also can't simply stand for long periods of time. That said, I shoot weddings that involve many hours of standing, walking, moving and generally getting up and down. Somehow this is ok, though I still hurt like crazy at the end of the day. I can only do this because my camera bag goes around my waist with no load on my shoulders. Back when I was doing the initial recovery from the crash, I used a cane quite frequently. While I never received any formal training with it, I do recognize that it can be a very effective weapon. I did consider buying one that had a sword hidden inside. Unfortunately the state I was in at the time would have really frowned severely on it if discovered... and I was often flying commercial and didn't want to potentially lose it before boarding a flight (such an item certainly would not be allowed today). Ya know a small carbine might be appropriate in certain situations. Best of luck to you!
  20. That sounds good!
  21. So are we meeting at Gondola for lunch? I remember Stefano's in Knoxville from college days back in the mid-80s. I honestly can't remember which pizza I preferred up there... probably Gatti's. Up in Madison, WI there's a grocery store with a frozen pizza section that is at least 25 freezer doors... it's huge! When people visited us, we occasionally would take them down that aisle. They would always shake their heads in amazement. I really miss Papa Murphy's pizza .. they make it, you take it home and bake it.
  22. Interesting about the role of the AG in TN vs other states. In TN, the AG does not have any prosecutorial powers. His primary roles are to advise State Gov and defend the State in court.
  23. I'm almost always up for an awesome pizza. In my limited experience across the state, I can only think of two places where I'm absolutely positive that I can get GREAT pizza. Big Ed's Pizza in Oak Ridge J&G Pizza in Manchester Gondola in Tullahoma comes in as very good, but not great. What other world class pizza is out there?
  24. Actually the AG in Tennessee is appointed to an 8-year term by justices of the Supreme Court. The governor is NOT his boss.
