Optic set up for a 9mm PCC?
Chucktshoes replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
For a inexpensive PCC, I’d say throw on a Primary Arms micro dot and call it done. -
Haven't put a knife together in a while...
Chucktshoes replied to gregintenn's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Right? That’s entirely counter to everything I’ve ever learned about percussive maintenance. -
I’m pretty sure it isn’t.

My favorite Doors track.

A slightly different musical instrument than most of y’all. You can tell from the fingerboard and the note diagram on it that I’m not an experienced fiddler, but it is enjoyable, if quite challenging to learn. It’s a Fiddlerman Master violin and their “3 star” Pernambuco bow. Not anything super special or extra nice, but a nice step above a basic student violin. I didn’t realize until I went to post the pic that it was kinda blurry. I’ll re-edit to add better pics later.

Concealed only permit , reciprocity
Chucktshoes replied to SingleStack's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You now have an “enhanced” permit. No changes to the permit. Just a fancier name. -
The feds wanted them to break their encryption and give them a back door that would have allowed them to break anyone’s iPhone at will. That backdoor would have created and insecurity that would have allowed any two bit hacker in. Make no mistake, the feds can break into your phone if they want to. They eventually broke into the same phones you mention. Apple just isn’t setting the precedent that they’ll compromise everyone’s security without a warrant.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Google is a legitimately evil corporation. More so than most. They refuse to work with the us.mil yet will happily work with Chinese government to develop algorithms that are used to clamp down on dissenters. Apple may not be great, but #### Google.

Thanks for the very public votes of confidence @TGO David & @MacGyver. I hate that a misunderstanding about the post led to a long time member getting banned. Only the initial misunderstanding though, his actions after that were on him. To everyone else, I always make calls based on what I think is best for this community. I am a human and therefore fallible. If you think I made a mistake, have a question for me, shoot me a PM. I’ll be happy to hear you out. That’s not me trying to justify or explain myself to y’all. I’m confident in my role here. I just want y’all to know I really value y’all. This community here is responsible for my closest friendships on this planet. Seriously, the group of friends I talk to every single day I made here. Y’all are important to me, even those I butt heads with. This place is a real community, so keep that in mind and take care of each other.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences.

Magazines - The next shortage?
Chucktshoes replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
REI just put their brand new HQ that they spent the last two years building on the market. They never even used it. They’ve determined that they don’t need to keep folks in the office like they thought they did. -
Seeing this I wish he would have sent me or one of the other mods or the admins a PM. I would have gladly rescinded the sanction and openly apologized for the misunderstanding. I like to think I’m a reasonable dude.

Having spent many years in retail followed by my years as a truck driver, I can attest to this being 100% on point. As far as the situation at hand goes, I greatly value the folks who support this place by helping keep the lights on and will protect the privileges they hold from those who try to get a free ride. Sometimes it makes folks mad. They can be mad.

Magazines - The next shortage?
Chucktshoes replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Good reminder to pick up more Hellcat mags. I was still shy of my minimum compliment for my most recent pistol purchase. Gunmagwarehouse.com still has a good supply of various mags currently if you’re still in need. -
That’s awesomely hilarious.

Wood stock finish questions..
Chucktshoes replied to cknight8's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I’ll be honest, I can’t help with the question of cerakote on wood. Though I would probably choose the krylon route of the two options presented. I do wonder if he has considered changing the stock out for a polymer one? Depending on the action it could very well be cheaper (and definitely lighter) than the cost of materials and time to refinish the wood stock. -
This night just be the best performance of this song ever made. Doc Severinsen’s band was truly a powerhouse behind They Might Be Giants that night.

I was completely unaware that this was an ongoing case here. I am generally supportive of the job that TWRA does and my few interactions with them have been pleasant and professional. I knew that they could cross onto private property, but was wholly unaware that they were leaving surveillance equipment behind them. I have serious issues with that. https://www.agweb.com/article/government-cameras-hidden-private-property-welcome-open-fields Seated at his kitchen table, finishing off the remains of a Saturday breakfast, Hunter Hollingsworth’s world was rocked by footsteps on his front porch and pounding at the door, punctuated by an aggressive order: “Open up or we’ll kick the door down.” Surrounded on all sides of his house, and the driveway blocked, Hollingsworth was the target of approximately 10 federal and state wildlife officials packing pistols, shotguns and rifles. And what was Hollingsworth’s crime? Drugs, armed robbery, assault, money laundering? Not quite. Months prior, in 2018, the Tennessee landowner removed a game camera secretly strapped to a tree on his private land by wildlife officials in order to monitor his activity without apparent sanction or probable cause. Repeat: Hollingsworth’s residence was searched by U.S. government and state officials, dressed to the nines in assault gear, seeking to regain possession of a trail camera—the precise camera they had surreptitiously placed on his private acreage after sneaking onto his property at night, loading the camera with active SD and SIM cards, and zip-tying the device roughly 10’ high up a tree—all without a warrant.
