  1. This week’s watch is my Citizen Promaster world time chrono.
  2. I don’t know if they’re saying what I am hearing when they call it that. To me, calling a gun “museum grade“ would infer, that while it’s great to look at, you probably shouldn’t shoot it.
  3. I apologize for misconstruing what it was you were referring to. I don’t ARFCOM, and hadn’t seen the thread that you referred to. I made my assumptions based upon the stories about the subject that bubbled up into the more mainstream outlets. I am quite happy that my point doesn’t apply to you directly. It doesn’t change my basic position that the dangers here far outweigh the possible benefits. For example, from this day on there is no such thing as video evidence. It’s all suspect. There’s just as much, if not more, danger from folks not believing videos that are real than from folks believing videos are fake.
  4. I’m actually with NBS here. The ability to use AI to create sexualized images of folks isn’t so much an exercise in misogyny as an affront to human dignity. It’s immaterial to whether the subject is male or female, creating p*rn of someone without their consent is wrong. Full stop.
  5. I’m less that half joking here. I’ve become increasingly convinced that when it comes to the internet, the juice is not worth the squeeze. Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind. -The Orange Catholic Bible
  6. This is correct. Even though century called their builds by the “L1A1” designator, almost all of the were built off of FAL “metric” receivers and used the corresponding magazines.
  7. It’s time for the Butlerian Jihad.
  8. I just stuff mags into the cheap harbor freight plastic ammo cans like this.
  9. Wanna know what makes the panic reaction even worse? West Point to SF to Okaloosa Deputy doesn’t seem like an upward career trajectory to me. Here is the full report. https://www.sheriff-okaloosa.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/IA-2023-031-Final-Report-Jackson.pdf
  10. Thats just kinda the deal with them. The MRO ain’t a great product. I think folks talk themselves into liking it because of it being a Trijicon.
  11. This is an odd partnership. I don’t even know how to process it to be honest.
  12. I’m currently reading through Calvin & Hobbes with the boys. I’ve got the hard bound complete collection.
  13. @deerslayerhas the right of it. Things happen in shipment and that’s what the insurance is for. SG ate whatever they weren’t able to recoup from UPS. Additionally, anything firearms related has a higher than average risk of not making it to its final destination. Many of us are used to dealing with big companies who have shipping shrink factored into pricing. Smaller outfits usually can’t afford to repeatedly eat those kinds of losses. SG did you a solid in the name of good customer service, but they weren’t obligated to in my eyes since the insurance was an available option. Whenever I’ve shipped or had shipped high dollar items, I always spring for the full insurance amount. (You should see what it is on a $10k NVG package!) In the future, I’d highly recommend springing for the insurance. It’s cheap piece of mind.
  14. My kids see that every time they get into my car.
  15. I appreciate your efforts.
  16. The people of Memphis seem to hold that view and their council members know it. The new mayor really needs to understand where he should spend his political capital if he wants to be successful because she ain’t it.
  17. Thanks for sharing, but I think I’ll await summaries and not subject myself to watching anymore of it.
  18. While it’s very popular, I don’t see a real need to do it to my 1301. The interest of full perspective, I’m going to post a couple of videos with Tim from Tactical Response, explaining his view why not to do some of these modifications.
  19. Sounds like a shoulder or chest mounted holster is the way to go.
  20. My tastes in active retention holsters leans towards Safariland holsters with the indecipherable item numbers. Whatever you choose for active retention, just don’t get a Serpa.
