Louis hits the nail on the head on why folks are watching this so intently.

Thanks! It gets better... The best part is that I was in South Dakota last week and saw one in a Cabela’s. I almost walked out of there with one that had its bayo and had a wonderful patina. It was $3500. Even after I track down the M1917, I’ll have about 1/4-1/3 of that invested. I picked this up for less than the price of a reproduction, and I didn’t even have to search the deal out. It fell into my lap by way of a friend of a friend. I’m super excited right now.

The guy I bought it from got the receiver as a project to do a standard build on. Then he discovered the proof marks and realized what it was so he built it up with all surplus, takeoff or NOS parts. I would consider it the equivalent to a rearsenaled mixmaster. Once my buddy who has ahold of it gets home, he’s going to send me the serial so I can date it.

Don’t know. Don’t have physical possession yet. I’m still on the road.

I accidentally made this your topic.

Here ya go. I’m working on tracking down a M1917 bayonet as well.

This isn’t about rational investing anymore. This is the internet learning a new power. The power to go after the one group of folks everyone hates, Wall Street. It’s not investing, it’s war. I was reminded of something an old buddy of mine once said, “The next American revolution will be French.”

I know I’m hella hard on Reddit, and you obviously love it. They get a Broken Clock Award here.

Oh, I’m cheering alright. I’m loving this for a multitude of reasons.

@CapbyrdThey’re talking about 3-D printing 10/22 receivers.

That’s pretty much it. Only thing I would add is that make sure the box is sufficiently strong sided enough that it cannot easily be pried open from the sides. My M&P came with a good enough case, the one I got with my CDHP doesn’t work as well. If the case isn’t sufficiently secure, you can be turned away.

It’s an easy rule that takes pretty much zero effort to follow. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Yup. The pic of him from the inauguration was just super meme worthy.

You’re fine trading ammo. It’s firearms that’s require paperwork.

What the hell is going on there? I understand the first one. You can’t fix stupid and that was a moron customer. This one is inexcusable. How does a gun in a box end up not only loaded, but an employee pulls the trigger before verifying clear? What The Actual ####

The Tennessee Supreme Court suspended the license of a Nashville attorney after discovering he posted advice on Facebook about how to make deadly force look like self-defense. After a woman made a post on Facebook in 2017 seeking advice on how to handle possible abuse or harassment by an ex-partner, attorney Winston B. Sitton encouraged her to "lure" the man into her home and shoot him. He advised her to claim the man broke in with a plan to harm her. "Even with the new stand your ground law, the castle doctrine is a far safer basis for use of deadly force," he wrote, according to an opinion filed by the state's high court. He later posted that the woman should delete her post if she was serious. "As a lawyer, I advise you to keep mum about this if you are remotely serious," Sitton wrote. "Your defense is that you are afraid for your life _ revenge or premeditation of any sort will be used against you at trial." https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2021/01/23/nashville-lawyer-suspended-after-posting-advice-facebook-getting-away-murder/6682442002/

I’ve got one of those Harbor freight Apache cases, and it is about as sturdy of a case as I’ve seen. With the coupon you can usually get it for about $110 or so. i’ve also got to say that if you need an overt holster with active retention, the Safariland with the ALS system is the only way to go. Everything else runs the gamut from merely falling short, to straight garbage (Serpa).

100% this.

A cheap one at that. I’m a little insulted you would think such a poorly constructed trap would ensnare me. You have likely correctly surmised that I hold a more textualist/originalist view of the text. That doesn’t mean it must remain unchanged for eternity. It simply means that we must use the mechanisms laid out in Article V to change and not attempt to re-interpret it willy-nilly based upon the current mores or social movements. (I may be skating a little close to the politics line with that last paragraph. I will justify it to myself by maintaining that it is important to understand how to interpret the Constitution if one is to defend a constitutionally enumerated right.)

Yeah, I built out all that I know. Which on my biological side is very, very little. Grand total of 3 people. So yeah, it’s a bust for me.
