  1. I keep reading the stories of new strains that are appearing on a seemingly daily basis that are believed to be either resistant to the vaccine or are not showing up on the tests. I think folks should really start preparing themselves mentally for this never going away.
  2. I’ve shot at Stones River when I’ve visited Nashville. It’s a true public range operated by the TWRA. I like it. Here is a list of all the public ranges operated by the state. Others would have to help you with the private ranges around Nashville. https://www.tn.gov/twra/hunting/firing-ranges.html
  3. Yeah, he’s got a few million now.
  4. The wha?
  5. Once again I find myself in Nashville with some unexpected down time. I’ll be on lower Broadway initially, but if any of y’all would like to meet up, hit me up.
  6. My wife has been feeding some that took up residence at our place.
  7. Just thought I’d add, the program is much larger than TN now. It’s international.
  8. Her husband was sick the first time, and Covid the second time. Biden’s team has already approached her about it and she turned it down to avoid the appearance of “doing politics”. So the answer to the question you posed? It is Yes.
  9. While heavily based on one, it actually isn’t. I made the same mistake when I first saw it.
  10. Nope. Has been in production continually since introduced.
  11. Savage 1907, Government Model .45 ACP
  12. My kids have all received/receive the Imagination Library books. They look forward to and love those books. They’re each going to have those sets saved and given back to them when they bless us with grandchildren (when they’re grown ass, married, adults.) Dolly would get their votes too. This conversation reminded me that I had been planning to make a donation to the Imagination Library. You have the ability to direct it to your local affiliate, so Crockett just got some more money in its fund.
  13. It’s all right. Everyone is entitled to be wrong.
  14. Once again, Dolly proves that she’s likely the best human being currently on the planet https://www.forbes.com/sites/carlieporterfield/2021/02/18/dolly-parton-declines-proposal-to-build-a-statue-of-her-on-the-tennessee-capitol-grounds/ This is borderline political, but I think it is neutral enough to pass muster.
  15. I love the low key FJ flex.
  16. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying anything should be illegal. My point is that there are inherent dangers in certain activities that must be considered. Folks that live in places that deal with this weather regularly have a certain level of cultural knowledge with regards to what’s safe and what isn’t that folks down here may not have due to lack of experience. Like ponds. The kids who know not to get in water without an adult (or even can do that safely) during the summer might not understand that a thin layer of ice and snow can obscure where the water really is or what hypothermia is if they get wet. It’s easy to chalk up fatal accidents that happen to other folks as nature having her way. I’m just advising extra caution so that it doesn’t become one of us.
  17. I’ve seen a few more reports of child fatalities and near fatal accidents around the state. Be careful y’all. Don’t mix powered vehicles with sleds and take extra caution around formerly liquid bodies of water. I also had a friend slip on the ice and break his shoulder and now he will be out of work for 3-4 months. I grew up in this (dad was stationed in South Dakota for 8 years) so I’m not telling y’all to be terrified of the snow and ice and stay inside. Go out and make memories with the kids and grandkids! I’m just reminding y’all to take extra time to consider the dangers of the the “hey y’all, watch this” fun. Stay safe, y’all.
  18. Not to belabor the point too much, but bear with me. In 1997 if you only had 10 mags and a preban mag was $100+, then rebuilding magazines was a reasonable option. In 2020 when you can buy single magazines for as little as $10-12, or have 100 magazine cases drop shipped to your house for $8-900, there’s no reason to spend the same amount on rebuild kits. Don’t overthink it, just buy more mags. This is mostly focused on AR mags, but Glock mags are cheap and readily available right now as well. Most damage that renders a magazine unusable is to the body itself. It isn’t the follower or spring wearing out. It’s the body cracking, denting, or feed lips deforming in some way. Buy more mags. If you have guns with expensive mags, buy one or two as you can. If they’re out of stock, set up alerts with the various retail sites. (Gunmagwarehouse.com) Buy more mags.
  19. If you’re running pmags, just buy more lots more pmags now while they are still cheap. If you’re running USGI mags, do the same. If you’re running another brand of AR mag, buy a bunch of pmags or USGI mags while they are still cheap. A new mag is always a superior option to a rebuilt mag.
  20. When stuff like this happens and our redneck comes out, it just makes me smile.
  21. This is the same company that quit selling to LE agencies after being issued a citation from an officer for failing to adhere to mask mandates. They are about standing on principle, but at the same time, they absolutely do it publicly to make it work for their benefit. https://www.enblocpress.com/op-ed/ammunition-sales-to-law-enforcement-feeding-the-mouth-that-bites/ If you would like to get a better insight into the reasoning and views of the company and it’s owner, here is a livestream discussion between him and Rob Pincus moderated by Maj Toure from Black Guns Matter (check them out, they do great work).
