Gender reveals are getting a little silly.....
Chucktshoes replied to Handsome Rob's topic in General Chat
I’ve only got three pounds of it or so. Been meaning to pick up a stockpile of it. That said, even if they ban it, it’s not difficult to make yourself with a trip to Home Depot. -
Since I’ve been on the subject of food trucks, there is a taco truck in town around the corner from my daughter’s school in Alamo that I’ve been meaning to hit up for a while. My wife and I did today for lunch and discovered that we have been wasting a lot of time by not going there. Chela’s Tacos in Alamo has some seriously legit tacos.

Actually, it doesn’t really tweak the sound at all. It provides about as clean of a signal between the record and your headphones as possible. What it does do is allow me to isolate the channels in the mix. As a homeless in or it doesn’t have a lot of utility for me, but for somebody in the studio it’s very valuable.

I’m a vinyl junkie and have been needing to acquire a good headphone amp for a while. Some of y’all may remember Crimsonaudio, he has a professional ear for this sort of thing and recommended a helluva amazing headphone amp it completely blows me away.

There are some ancillary benefits to hitting the food truck like that that most people overlook. Not only are you likely to get some bomb ass Mexican food, you’re supporting a small business owner who is likely a first generation immigrant supporting a family. I’m about that kind of spending over a multinational corporation.

If you’re in the mood for a taco, burrito or anything like that. Drive past chipotle and find the nearest taco truck. Doesn’t matter. Any taco truck will do. You’ll get far and away a much, much better meal for less money.

Speaking of that subject, I read a really great article about that this morning. https://www.wired.com/story/they-hacked-mcdonalds-ice-cream-makers-started-cold-war/

If it was, that makes the kid extremely lucky he only got bodyslammed.

I’ve been a fan of this kid for a while now. Zach Bryan is active duty Navy, and doing things independently. No label deal, mostly just releasing his songs as YouTube videos. He writes some of the most personal and heartfelt lyrics. If you’re a fan of country music and worry for its future because Nashville has been putting out trash for a long while. Don’t worry. Country music is still the music of the common men and women who will always show up to tel all of our stories with three chords and the truth. Folks like Zach who just made his Opry debut this past Saturday.

Eh, sick at home with the kids is better than well on the road away.

My kids have been sick this past week. And I’m supposed to head to the house. Haha. Anyone want to place bets on whether I get it?

The current prices are what ammo really costs. It’s just been on a massive sale the last few years.

Multiple victims at FedEx in Indianapolis
Chucktshoes replied to Dirtshooter's topic in General Chat
I remember the article and map. Approximately 80%+/- of murders occur in 2% of counties. The 2% of counties all contain poor inner cities. The problem is socioeconomic. The solutions will be socioeconomic. -
Yeah, it does. It isn’t the sole purview of overweight wannabe operator LARPers like myself.

This is the civilian version of software used by troops to coordinate movement/location/a million other uses in the field. For the civilian it offers the ability to know where folks on your team are, and the ability to share texts, location markers, etc (and a bunch of other uses) over the network. Useful examples are search and rescue, hunting, other outdoor recreation activities, airsoft/milsim, and all around LARPIng. One of the cool features is that you can download all your maps in advance, go out, and communicate with your team using your TAK devices over ham radio like computer modems used to use telephones. It’s really cool stuff, with near endless possibilities, I’m just trying to dip my toes in it but may be way out of my depth.

Conditional green card, denied carry permit
Chucktshoes replied to DrJones's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Nope. -
Well, if I was uninformed on a matter and looking for answers, I’d find someplace where I could ask the question and folks might be informed enough to answer. It’s why I joined a forum centered around vinyl record collecting when I had some gear questions. It’s why I just joined a discord server centered around the ATAK/CivTAK software. I hope he sticks around and learns and gains a greater understanding of why things happened the way they did.

There’s not enough info for anybody to really offer a solid opinion. The circumstances of why your father’s background check was ultimately denied, and a detective was involved in ensuring the return happened make all the difference in the world. Considering how sticky those types of legal issues can be, I wouldn’t recommend broadcasting it or seeking advice about it over the Internet. The closest I will come to offering a real opinion is this. That gun is no longer new, and is no longer worth the same as a new gun at full retail price. If your dad is a prohibited person, and aware that he is a prohibited person, which I don’t understand how he wouldn’t be aware if he is, he should consider himself lucky for getting off with only a $180 restocking fee. (For The record, I don’t believe the concept of a prohibited person is just. One has either paid their debt to society, or they should be in jail. Free citizens should be treated as whole citizens and retain their rights to self-defense.)

I’d be curious as to your thoughts @Luckyforward considering this sort of thing is at least related to your wheelhouse. -
Anybody messing with it? I’m thinking about trying to figure it out and how it could be useful. Mostly interested in its ability to transmit information and messaging over radio. Going to start digging into it once I acquire an android phone to run the software on. https://www.civtak.org/atak-about/

It doesn’t matter if his firearms were seized under some sort of red flag law, which Indiana does have. If you have not been adjudicated as a mental defective, you have the ability to purchase at an s FFL. -

The abuses within are one of the main reasons they went away and what would require the most oversight to prevent. I agree, it’s something that would require a lot of care and planning to make a thing again. An ancillary benefit to them making a return is that a robust mental health infrastructure would allow for better triaging of folks in crisis. Like the guy in Indy who apparently had concerned folks attempt to get him help, but the options are very limited as of now.
