TFBtv just dropped a video that very much pertinent to the subject. *language warning* The dude doing the talking spent a career in the combat arms and talks like it.

I think your read of the situation is slightly off here. The NYSRPA is the one bringing the suit. The NRA aren’t really a player here. They went after NYC’s transportation laws last time on the same grounds and NYC changed the law to keep it out of the court. It wouldn’t surprise me if New York State change the law again to keep from having to defend this one. They seem to be really on the ropes. The NYSRPA are doing good work.

The court agreed to hear a challenge to a New York state law that allows residents to carry a concealed handgun only if they can demonstrate a special need beyond a general desire for self protection. The law “makes it virtually impossible for the ordinary law-abiding citizen” to get the necessary license, said Paul Clement, a lawyer representing the challengers. One of them, Robert Nash, said he was wanted to carry a gun in response to a string of robberies in his neighborhood. Another, Brendan Koch, also cited a desire to carry a gun for protection. Both men said they had completed gun safety courses, but both were turned down when they applied for permits. They joined a lawsuit challenging the law brought by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. New York bans carrying a handgun openly. The state law says anyone seeking a license to carry a concealed weapon must demonstrate “a special need for self protection distinguishable from that of the general community or of persons engaged in the same profession.” The law is so restrictive, Clement said, that it cannot be reconciled with the Supreme Court’s “affirmation of the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.” https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2021/04/26/hmmm-scotus-takes-first-2a-case-in-over-a-decade-n385846

That Magpul sling is a 2 to 1 convertible sling. It does both. That said, while the single point excels in certain uses, most folks will far and away get more use and utility out of a 2 point.

I swear they’re low key the industry’s R&D department. If it was revealed that the big US manufacturers all threw them some coin to keep them afloat, I wouldn’t be surprised. I swear selling guns is a side business to coming up with goofy #### that will be a hit a decade or more down the road.

I wouldn’t, and won’t install it on anything other than a dedicated device.

It’s a Pioneer PLX-1000. It’s essentially a high quality copy of the Technics SL-1200. That said, your old table might not be as bad as you think it is. A lot of vintage equipment has aged pretty well.

Thanks. This is a pic of the full setup (minus the speakers (Elac F-6 floor towers). I’ve got around as much in my vinyl as I do my guns. I really need cheaper hobbies.

Gender reveals are getting a little silly.....

I’ve only got three pounds of it or so. Been meaning to pick up a stockpile of it. That said, even if they ban it, it’s not difficult to make yourself with a trip to Home Depot. -
Since I’ve been on the subject of food trucks, there is a taco truck in town around the corner from my daughter’s school in Alamo that I’ve been meaning to hit up for a while. My wife and I did today for lunch and discovered that we have been wasting a lot of time by not going there. Chela’s Tacos in Alamo has some seriously legit tacos.

Actually, it doesn’t really tweak the sound at all. It provides about as clean of a signal between the record and your headphones as possible. What it does do is allow me to isolate the channels in the mix. As a homeless in or it doesn’t have a lot of utility for me, but for somebody in the studio it’s very valuable.

I’m a vinyl junkie and have been needing to acquire a good headphone amp for a while. Some of y’all may remember Crimsonaudio, he has a professional ear for this sort of thing and recommended a helluva amazing headphone amp it completely blows me away.

There are some ancillary benefits to hitting the food truck like that that most people overlook. Not only are you likely to get some bomb ass Mexican food, you’re supporting a small business owner who is likely a first generation immigrant supporting a family. I’m about that kind of spending over a multinational corporation.

If you’re in the mood for a taco, burrito or anything like that. Drive past chipotle and find the nearest taco truck. Doesn’t matter. Any taco truck will do. You’ll get far and away a much, much better meal for less money.

Speaking of that subject, I read a really great article about that this morning. https://www.wired.com/story/they-hacked-mcdonalds-ice-cream-makers-started-cold-war/

If it was, that makes the kid extremely lucky he only got bodyslammed.

I’ve been a fan of this kid for a while now. Zach Bryan is active duty Navy, and doing things independently. No label deal, mostly just releasing his songs as YouTube videos. He writes some of the most personal and heartfelt lyrics. If you’re a fan of country music and worry for its future because Nashville has been putting out trash for a long while. Don’t worry. Country music is still the music of the common men and women who will always show up to tel all of our stories with three chords and the truth. Folks like Zach who just made his Opry debut this past Saturday.

Eh, sick at home with the kids is better than well on the road away.

My kids have been sick this past week. And I’m supposed to head to the house. Haha. Anyone want to place bets on whether I get it?

The current prices are what ammo really costs. It’s just been on a massive sale the last few years.

I remember the article and map. Approximately 80%+/- of murders occur in 2% of counties. The 2% of counties all contain poor inner cities. The problem is socioeconomic. The solutions will be socioeconomic.
