  1. Swedish Army, That's an AK5. It's based on the FNC.
  2. I wouldn't be. I'm in Cali pretty regularly and often in the Central Valley. I keep telling folks around here that it's just the handful of crazy cities that ruin the place for everyone.
  3. That is correct. That’s a function of the way those ramps work from the west leg of 55 to the bridge at Crump. Westbound it stays as two lanes the entire way, eastbound squeezes down into a single lane with a 20 mph curve. That’s a hell of a bottleneck for what was 40k vehicles per day prior to the closure.
  4. Listening to the most recent episode of the Cocaine & Rhinestones podcast. It’s on the Nashville A Team and it made me wish I could pick Steelharp’s brain about what he thought about it. Miss you, man.
  5. I wonder if they might attempt to pursue him for forging government docs?
  6. Well, that depends. How attractive are the goats?
  7. I don’t wanna take my truck over it until I’m sure that they’ve figured out what the issue is.
  8. Permission slips from the state don’t make the irresponsible responsible and a lack of one doesn’t make the responsible irresponsible.
  9. That’s not what I meant. I was referring to middle managers being surplus as superfluous outside of the in office dynamic. That massive of a re-organization of how business is done will lead to the discovery that some positions just aren’t that valuable.
  10. I suspect that many middle managers (rightly) perceive that shifting to a WFH model will cause not only the buildings to be surplussed.
  11. Actually, what doesn’t sit well with the moderation team are personal attacks. Especially when they are based on such ridiculously bad takes. Chill out, dude.
  12. The one that always sticks out the most to be is REI. They spent two years building an exceptionally nice brand new office complex, then the pandemic hit before they could move in. Their experience with having their employees work from home was so positive that they never moved into the building and instead put it up for sale.
  13. Maybe he wasn’t all bad after all.
  14. Yeah, that timeline was off to me as well. 3-5 years seems more accurate to me.
  15. Much like what I’m expecting.
  16. https://www.wmcactionnews5.com/2021/05/12/engineering-expert-explains-i-bridge-crack/ "Abdelnaby says if the damage is confined to just this one crack, maybe a couple of weeks, but if it’s more extensive, they may have to replace the entire bridge. Replacing the bridge could take up to a year."
  17. No, but at the same time she would’ve been fine if the call had been a car accident or someone getting shot or robbed or whatever. I’ll be a little bit forgiving because I don’t think any dispatcher is prepared for a call that says “the new bridge is broke and you need to stop traffic before it falls into the river.“
  18. Also in light of my last post, before anyone blames me for breaking it.
  19. I don’t see what the issue is. The cotter pin isn’t a load bearing item. The giant bolt it’s attached to is the one bearing it. The cotter pins on either side are simply there to keep the big pin from rattling out when I drive across the New Bridge weighing 80k lbs at speeds exceeding the posted limit.
  20. I think that holds a suspension cable. Here is the recording of the 911 call that was made by the inspection crew to the Memphis side. https://twitter.com/Ripple1026/status/1392576653449170955?s=20
