It’s my go to defensive ammo as well. It functions well out of my guns and hopefully that’s as much as I ever learn about how well it functions as a defensive round.

Lake City ammo too dangerous for civilians
Chucktshoes replied to 1fast4by's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
This is correct. Lake City is wholly owned by the U.S. Gov. and operation of the plant is contracted out. Olin took over the contract just a couple years ago. -
I have at least twice that much in my stash.

TVA asking customers to conserve electricity
Chucktshoes replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
That’s very true, and now you’ll hear a very rare thing from me, I’m totally ok with that in this instance. Regardless, nuclear energy and strengthening the power grid should be a national project on the level or greater than of the creation of the TVA in the first place. -
TVA asking customers to conserve electricity
Chucktshoes replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
We really need to be going full on into nuclear. I don’t understand how this isn’t so completely effing obvious to everyone. -
That is genuinely funny.

Hopefully the coalition falls apart before anything gets through. That said, no. Even if this does get through you will not get anything on your wishlist. At all. Ever. That’s not how “compromise” on guns works. When it comes to gun laws the only compromise on the table is that they take away less than they were after, this time. They’ll come for more later, and keep coming until somebody forces them to stop.

The AR and it's 223, will blow a leg or head right off!
Chucktshoes replied to Erich's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
While the way it’s being framed is overly sensational, it isn’t wrong either. As @Garufa said, just about any non-rimfire rifle round will blow a head apart. That’s not to say the 5.56/.223 is especially powerful, we all know it’s not. On the other hand, just because the opposition is being disingenuous in their arguments doesn’t give us license to do the same. So the response to this sort of statement isn’t “that’s not true” it is “that’s true of any rifle round regardless of the type or action design.” -
Man, I seriously doubt the intentions of the folks steering the car.

That’s true. And they were right. The complete and total destruction of two millennia’s building of a civilization isn’t an overnight endeavor. But the speed sure is picking up.

Wouldn’t it be great if the NRA was the hardcore gun rights organization that the gun control people think it is?
-
On that note, the folks at Salon.com want gun control so bad, they’ll even excuse racism to get it. https://www.salon.com/2022/06/08/when-ronald-reagans-saved-lives-armed-black-men-meant-immediate-control_partner/ edit: they deleted the original headline after getting called out extensively on it. But the internet never forgets.

Yeah, still a hard no. A registry is a red line for me and unlike the politicians using that phrase willy-nilly in the matters of foreign policy, I understand exactly what it means for an action to be declared as such.
-
I want to address this one point because my primary issue with universal background checks for all transfers is that it can only be effectively enforced in one way, a registry. That is a hard no for myriad reasons. I do believe that if the government made available access to some form of NICS for individuals to perform a check when engaging in a private party sale, most all folks would make use of it. Not only do I think it would go a long way towards keeping criminals from buying guns on the open market, I could see it making it easier to prosecute and convict those involved in straw purchases.

My only answer is to quote the fine gentlemen at the FPC. #### you. No.

I have often been a critic of LE. This is an instance from Nashville where I commend their actions. Donut operator does a really good job of breaking down the events of what happened at the Frugal McDougal liquor store. There’s a lot that can be learned here.

Sometimes a reasonable man must do unreasonable things.

Anyone who doesn’t have nuclear at the forefront of their plans for eliminating fossil fuels isn’t a serious participant.

I don’t buy new cars, but in 5-10 years I’ll very likely be looking for a used Tesla.

I don’t think Erik is making the case you seem to think is regarding the President. He is right about the oil companies holding off on drilling right now and reaping profits from the high gas prices. They’re making up for the losses they took in 2020 when global demand bottomed out due to the pandemic. I don’t know if you remember how low prices got, but I do. There was a time where I was filling up my semi for a base price (pump price - discounts & IFTA) of $.52 per gallon on diesel. Like I mentioned before, without taking action to decouple our production from the global market, we’re hosed for the foreseeable future.

Pronouns in her bio. Only red flag law I need to know that nothing of value is to be gained by listening to this person.
