  1. Thanks for the suggestion of stones river, everyone there was super helpful and took extra time with my wife and I to help me help her get over her fears and become more at ease with firearms. One of the RSOs (Barb) loaned my wife a set of electronic EPs as the ones we brought weren't quite sufficient to dampen the sound to a comfortable level. There was even a guy a few lanes over who offered to let my wife shoot his Sig 2022 (which she really liked) when he noticed she was having some trouble with my 1911. We had an awesome time and will come back next time we are in town.
  2. Everyone, thanks for the info. Nashville is our default duck out spot when we feel the need for a quick minute away from Mempho, but it is always a good idea to get tips from the locals. We already hit Opry Mills Mall, have to every time we come into town, lol. As long as weather permits we will be heading to Stones River, only 15 miles from the hotel.
  3. My wife and I are in town for the weekend just to get away from Memphis. Can anyone recommend an outdoor range in the area? There aren't any in the Memphis area other than MSSA and indoor ranges kinda freak her out a little so I thought I would ask y'all for some input. Also any suggestions on other stuff to do wouldn't hurt either. We are staying off of Briley Pkwy. Thanks.

  5. This is hilarious. Almost makes me want to have kids...
  6. Sounds like the AF bases I grew up on in the 80's (with the addition of nintendo, that was good!)
  7. Of those of you that like me have an employer that bans employees from having weapons on property/in vehicle, how many allow customers/clients to carry and how many have a complete ban with posted signs? My employer ONLY has a policy against employees possessing weapons or having them in car. Customers can OC if they wish. As far as I am concerned they wouldn't have a leg to stand on with the property rights issue unless they went for a total ban and posted signs at the edge of the parking lot.
  8. It is likely the stems inside the handles either need new washers, or replaced entirely. It is actually a fairly simple operation. Even though only one side may be leaking I would recommend replacing both sides at the same time as a preventative measure. All you have to do is turn off the water to faucet, remove the handle, then use a wrench to unscrew the stem and replace washers or insert new stem. Make sure to use Teflon tape for any screw threads that will come in contact with water. I would recommend taking the entire stem with you to the hardware store along with the name of the faucet manufacturer and the should be able to get you what you need.
  9. Make sure to take this limo...
  10. I can hear Yakov Smirnoff "In Soviet Russia..."
  11. Either Mrs. 357 has taken over the the remote or.... Is there something you would like to share with us Mike?
  12. Lolz, that's a (slightly) better example. I honestly don't see the Russian gov't letting Izhmash disappear, but it may come fully under gov't control so the civilian division may disappear. But to be honest I just found the story interesting. Don't have a lot emotionally invested in it though a Saiga 12 has been on my short list for a hot minute.
  13. Is that supposed to inspire confidence? Personally I think the reorganization of Government Motors is just delaying the inevitable. As far as Chrysler, when was the last time you saw a Fiat?
  14. After going to that list I am left with one question, does the PRK have ANY politicians not on the list?
  15. Link This is a really great article and video of an interview with Condoleezza Rice.
  16. I'd imagine they are, but IIRC the civilian market is something like 20% of their overall business. Their primary output are rifles for Mother Russia's military and since there are no orders they have actually shut down that portion of their production lines.
  17. Might want to get that Saiga you've been looking at.... Kalashnikov Maker Files for Bankruptcy - Pravda.Ru
  18. But what if the answer was that he/she believed in armed bears?
  19. Herenton is running against 9th District Rep. Steve Cohen, NOT Sen. Bob Corker. So unless you are in Memphis and (small) parts of Shelby County, not someone you will be voting against. Though our choices here in the 9th suck. I really just want to knock him over the head with a 2x4 and tell him to quit ****ing up my city.
  20. I don't know, The only time I listen to Country Radio, the dial says AM. PS, I never said this was good, just funny.
  21. After having my inbox inundated with PMs, I managed to set up some DL links for the PDFs. Of course all NFA rules apply to the info contained in the PDF's, so don't go building anything without Uncle Sugar's OK. http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/671234/Th..._Silencers.pdf http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/671234/deceiver_051.pdf http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/671234/8638862.pdf
  22. I am posting from my phone so I can't send the files right now but pm me your email and I can email you a couple of PDFs for .22, .223 and a book on improvised suppressors. I can't vouch for any of it as I have not actually built any cans, just read a bit about them.
