  1. I'm overnights @ Union & McLean. There are two overnight managers, the old one and the ginger one. I'm the ginger one. I will say I did have one conversation with an OC guy that made me slightly uncomfortable. This guy wears a Walther PPK "cause it is James Bond's gun" and people give him "more respect" when he OC's. I tend to avoid that dude now. I just hope he isn't on TGO.
  2. This man knows what he's talking about.
  3. Nah, I'd say 457.2mm x 457.2mm x457.2 mm
  4. #_2 I am an assistant manager with Walgreens and I am very curious as to where this store is that has been posted. While we do have policies concerning firearms and employees and security, we have no prohibitions or even concern for customers that legally carry. I have had several conversations with some folks who OC in in my store in midtown Memphis ( I gave them smile and a on OC in my store). Please let me know the location of your local store so that I may look into this as I find it very disconcerting. Thank you in advance for any info you provide.
  5. Went with it. Will give report On fit and finish once I get it in. Though it will still be a month or so before I can get it complete and ready to fire.
  6. +1 Kano
  7. Exactly.
  8. Personally, I prefer to use Time Machine. Very stable program.
  9. It's legit. Think of it as Microsoft's version of Adobe Flash. You need it as a browser plug in to view some websites properly. No worries.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I love my city. There are many wonderful things about Memphis to recommend it. The only reason the wife and I are migrating out east to the burbs is that we are looking having kids soon and she has vetoed city schools and since she graduated from Overton, she gets to make that call. I didn't go to school here. You just have to be aware of a few things to increase you chances of survival. To borrow a slogan from a city with whom we have a lot in common Memphis, where the weak are killed and eaten.
  11. Bill Gibbons was on D&Z yesterday talking about this. The weak laws are the state's sentencing guidelines that point to diversion programs for first offenses, probation second time around and then when they finally do lock someone up the actual jail sentences are short with many times only 1/3 of time served before parole even for violent crimes. This is what leads to the revolving door effect that many of us have noticed commented on. As citizens we need to press our legislators to change the guidlines in a manner that getting caught and going to jail is actually a deterrent as opposed to the cost of doing business. Changes like longer sentences, no parole for violent offenses, more measured use of diversion and probation for only the least of offenses, not for any violent or aggressive crimes. I would also like to see a strong 3 strikes law in place as well, if they can't shape up and fly right after two tries, F' em.
  12. Got 2 Pugs. I love my girls, like children they are.
  13. Waiting until next year will make this class possible for me. So keep on with it.
  14. +1000
  15. We should coordinate the Memphis TGO folks for this one. I am so totally gonna be at this.
  16. How about low crime for Memphis? The problem you are going to run into finding a low crime area close to midtown is this, unlike most cities that have fairly well defined "good" areas and "bad" areas, in Memphis it is a block by block situation. No matter where you are inside the city limits you are just a few blocks from the hood. that's not an exaggeration, that's fact. The midtown area is awesome for amenities and things to do and places to eat. It also has high property crime (car break and home burglaries) large vagrant population (pushed out of downtown to keep them away from tourists) and high rate of robberies near and in one of the best parts, Cooper-Young. Your choices are lower crime where you live and a commute, or higher crime where you live and no commute. No getting around it and having both.
  17. DSA finally has an upper reciever that is 1:7 and chrome lined for $325. This minus BCG and charging handle which isn't an issue as I was going to order a BCM BCG and BCM Gunfighter charging handle anyways. So does anyone have any experience with DSA uppers? What's the general quality like? Would I be okay with this upper or should I avoid them? I know they have a good rep for their FAL stuff, just unsure if I should wait to find another brand in stock as I am not interested in a 1:9 and 1:7s are hard to find in stock for less than $500( they all seem to have a rail that I don't want as of now)?
  18. + 1 10mm4me, not cool man, not cool at all.
  19. Is going to be 20 miles outside of Memphis at the T1G facility in Crawfordsville, AR Woot!
  20. You forgot to rack the slide to let him know you were serious! All kidding aside, I think you handled the situation superbly. Intruder (who may have made an honest mistake) departed and nobody was injured or killed. One for the win column.
  21. Damn Dirty Hippies.
  22. This looks interesting to me as a second upper for hunting. What was the gas key staking like?
  23. Why contribute in a positive manner either monetarily or with meaningful posts when it is much easier to get butthurt then whine and complain about how you think it should be?
