Though what the stole seems silly and you wonder why someone would steal items like that it makes perfect sense to me. Items like that can be sold to mom and pop convenience stores and haji marts who will then resell them with their merchandise obtained from regular vendors. This sort of activity is not just random thievery but an ongoing criminal enterprise. Professional shoplifting rings do this type of theft/sell/resale to the tune of billions of dollars in lost merchandise to legitimate retailers every year. The markups on some items are huge just to account for the theft, condoms are a great example, a $4 box of 3 condoms costs the retailer about $1.25 but 300% markup is there to cover the massive amount of loss incurred on that item. So next time you go into Walgreens for a box of rubbers and have to have the clerk unlock the case for you, these people are why.

I can live with losing Levi's. But please allow me to remain ignorant about Calvin Klein's personal politics. Those are the absolute best fitting most comfortable jeans I have ever worn. Gap comes a moderately placed second.

Well because I am in the process of doing some credit repair (irresponsible youth strikes again!) we are having to qualify strictly on the wife's income if we want to buy before the expiration of the tax credit. That is forcing us into the *<85k range. The plan is to buy now, stay in the house 3-5 years, do some upgrades and then sell out (hopefully) once the market improves and head to the Collierville area as that is where our personal lives are centered. We don't have any kids so this is the plan as schools are not a concern as of this moment.

Capybrd, My wife and I are in that boat of not being able tp afford to move far enough east at the moment and are looking at houses in the city. That is one of the areas we are looking at. Know of any decent houses on the market near you?

I'm overnights @ Union & McLean. There are two overnight managers, the old one and the ginger one. I'm the ginger one. I will say I did have one conversation with an OC guy that made me slightly uncomfortable. This guy wears a Walther PPK "cause it is James Bond's gun" and people give him "more respect" when he OC's. I tend to avoid that dude now. I just hope he isn't on TGO.

#_2 I am an assistant manager with Walgreens and I am very curious as to where this store is that has been posted. While we do have policies concerning firearms and employees and security, we have no prohibitions or even concern for customers that legally carry. I have had several conversations with some folks who OC in in my store in midtown Memphis ( I gave them smile and a on OC in my store). Please let me know the location of your local store so that I may look into this as I find it very disconcerting. Thank you in advance for any info you provide.
