  7. from Handgunlaw.us School property/school functions (School busses are school property) unless gun is unloaded, in an enclosed container (but NOT in the glove box or console) and in the vehicle. A car's trunk is considered an enclosed container. However, a concealed handgun permit holder can have a loaded, concealed handgun in the vehicle while in the school parking lot, traffic circle, etc. The concealed handgun and the permit holder must stay in the vehicle. Firearms are not banned from property open to the public where a school function is being held unless that property is being used exclusively for the school function. Violation of this statute is a felony
  8. Nothing like good old fashioned RR/WC cartoons.
  9. What is that? Ban #462?
  10. Atlanta = Memphis, supersized.
  11. Yeah, most of their other guns are teh suck. For whatever reason they got the 1911 right but can't seem to get their own designs right.
  12. I think this survey response as quoted in the article about sums it up.
  13. My PT1911 is my EDC. All the right features for a good price. The only thing I have/ am changing on it is the grips and putting a GI length guide rod in it. Both of those are more on the personal choice end of things.

My wife's grandfather has one of these that he hates. I was wondering if anything can be done about the trigger, and what would be a fair price to offer on one that appears to be in excellent condition with only about a box put through it? He mentioned that he would gladly let it go this past weekend. I'm thinking it might fill the pocket carry role, but the trigger is just plain awful. Can they be improved in any meaningful way?
  15. This is good. If only the groundwork would be laid to remove the prohibition against those who have been convicted of felonies and have completed the terms of their sentences.
  16. Thanks, I just might send an email to my LP guy with that info. Approach it like "just an FYI, this sign is no longer required by law, can we take ours down to cut down on clutter?"
  17. I can say with near certainty that this is not the case. We have a few customers who open carry at my store (in the heart of Midtown Memphis, lol) and one of my other managers questioned our policies on that as she didn't like it. She was told from on high to leave it alone as it is legal here and that we can to only ask them to cover the weapon if they receive a complaint from another customer. Walgreens isn't a gun friendly company (employees banned from having weapons on property) but it is more concerned with alienating customers. Things may be a different in Nashville, or more likely is that manager that OP spoke to was an idiot who was talking out of his ass. This is the most likely reason the sign just recently went up. Walgreens started selling beer in all stores just prior to the laws regarding carry changing. At that time we received an email with PDF files of the signs we needed to print out and hang. That sign was included in the group of signs to post. Some store managers were a little slower than others in posting all of the required signage. Nothing was ever sent out saying that sign was no longer required after the law change. It is likely that there was a store visit, and the store manager was told that he was missing some of his/her alcohol signs, and all of a sudden, that sign shows up along with the signs regarding underage sales and pregnant women drinking, etc.
  18. MGM's financial problems have put the film in limbo and that irks me as it should have opened last weekend.
  19. I figured that was the sign, That's why I wanted a picture before I started contacting folks. We have them up at ours still as well. Even though they are not required by law, that information hasn't made its way through all the channels to have the signs removed.
  20. I am a Walgreens manager and I am checking into this as our company has no policy prohibiting carry. We take much the same line as Starbucks did last summer, we follow the local laws regarding carry and take no actions of our own regarding it. I would like to see that picture of the sign as soon as you can get it posted. That way I can have as complete set of the facts as I can before I start talking to folks in the Nashville Region regarding this issue.
  21. After reading this... ...this seems to me to be the most appropriate response. The bolded portion especially pisses me off. It is jackholes like you that bow down and cower when tyrants come to rule all because they promise safety. People like you make me sick because you don't have enough of a pair to be able to stand up and take ownership of your own person. If this isn't stopped here and now, it will expand to where we are getting pornoscanned or sexually assaulted by government stooges every time we want to travel further than 5 feet from our front doors, and when that happens, have fun getting your vag probed.
  22. Sipsey Street is one of a few blogs that I read of that nature. Vanderboegh has a few good things to say (esp. re:ATF shenanigans), but I also am aware of his glaring inconsistencies. Us gingers, always on the militant side, lol.
