  1. I am a retail manager and this is how my company differentiates which policies would apply on the clock or off/on the clock. What I would call ceremonial policies, such as dress and appearance or anything that does not involve safety, loss prevention, or maintaining good order, apply only when on the clock. If it has to potential to cause damage to the stores bottom line, it applies all the time. So if it can be viewed as having the possibility to endanger another (weapons or unsafe behavior) or damage morale or workplace discipline (fighting, disrespectful actions or words to others) or otherwise be a loss prevention issue (theft, etc.) then you need to fly right when on the company property.
  2. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/63126-firearms-violence-tennessee.html Brian Haas has been discussing this article here for a few days prior to publication.
  3. Actually in California, if I understood all I have read correctly, Unarmed Open Carry, allows you to carry the weapon in an unloaded state while having loaded magazines on your person as well.
  4. They have test marketed Nacho Cheese and COOL RANCH (!!!!!!OMGWANTNOMNOMNOM!!!!!).
  5. If you don't have plans for Saturday and don't mind getting into the city itself, Cooper Young Festival is going on. It is an annual street festival that I know I always enjoy. It is located, oddly enough, at the corner of Cooper St and Young Ave. It is definitely arts oriented and has lots cool vendors and a great mix of music over 3 stages. The wife and some of my friends will be hitting in probably early in the day. Here is a link to their website. Cooper Young Festival
  6. Restaurants want a piece of food stamp pie Here is the direction this is all going.
  7. Absolutely DO NOT order any from Customkillergrips.com I put in an order close to a year ago, never received the grips and after multiple emails went unresponded to had to get on their facebook page and request a refund. It was promised, but never delivered. Shady, shady, shady.
  8. Cleaned out my box, sorry. Haven't renewed my Benefactor status yet, lost the extra storage space.
  9. Definitely open to this option. I may be pretty good at retail, but I don't exactly love it by any means.
  10. Thanks all for the advice and information offered. I am going to try to transfer with Walgreens, that would be optimal. However, come spring we will be making the move with or without Walgreens as my employer. I will say that by searching Indeed.com The market appears to be MUCH better in the MidTN area than Memphis. Currently Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Metro has an unemployement rate of 8.4 while Memphis is 10.4 That's a big difference for 2.5 hours drive.
  11. They can spout off about their philosophies and theories all day long, I am more interested in praxis, and in that they are virtually indistinguishable from each other. I'm going to disagree slightly, for this Libertarian, the manner in which the Republicans attempt to exert control over private behaviors and the fact that they just want to spend my (or my children's) money on different things than the Democrats, nevertheless still wanting to spend, makes them just as anathema as the Democrats. If one truly has a serious libertarian bent and thinks they are at home in the GOP, they are deluding themselves either in how serious of a libertarian they are, or in what/whom they are really voting for. I shall state it as explicitly as I can, both parties are equally useless fiscally and gravely dangerous to our personal liberties.
  12. Since the R and D are essentially the same thing, big government statists who want to tell me how to live my life, raise my children, and most especially how to spend my money, I chose neither. I see no value in voting for a Republicrat whose real purpose is control.
  13. Walgreens will do a transfer, but they are a bit full up on managers in that market. So, there is really not a place to transfer to.
  14. So the wife and I have decided to ditch out of the Memphis area and head out to somewhere outside of Nashville. We are definitely leaning towards the Murfreesboro/Bell Buckle/Rutherford County, area, but open to wherever the employment can be found and that we can live outside of Davidson County. Anybody have a suggestion or direction? My background is in Retail Management, so I know I am limited in that respect. We have been talking about this for a while, and decided it is time to do this before Lilly (my soon to be born daughter) gets here and gets to school age. Any ideas or direction would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Jesse Misskelly, who has an IQ of 72, was a minor and was interrogated for approximately 12 hours without parental consent and in that time gave a confession which was later recanted. At the time West Memphis PD did not record or videotape interrogations so there is no way to determine if or what level of coercion occurred during the interrogation. I have followed this case for years. My family and I moved to NW Arkansas in 94 after my dad retired from the AF. I along with many others are of the opinion these 3 were convicted of being weird kids who wore black clothes and listened to heavy metal music. I was one of those same kids so I have always identified with the WM3. West Memphis Three - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  16. They are being out processed now.
  17. I am watching the local news here, and my cousin is on scene providing updates as well.
  18. VINElink is showing that all 3 are out of custody for reason of "General Release"!
  19. The wife and I went to Lowes the other day and I was amused by something I noticed. Just about every guy who looked like he might work the construction trades had a gun either openly carried, or poorly concealed under a tshirt. By poorly concealed I mean the tshirts were hung up on the butt of the gun.
  20. I'm following it on the local newscasts and it appears that they will be freed today. Word right now is that the state will concede a new trial is warranted and then the WM3 will make an "Alford" plea to 1st Degree Murder in which they maintain their innocence while conceding the state has enough evidence to win. They will then be freed on time served.
  21. Thank you Fallguy. You have just cleared out of the way a major hurdle for me in visiting some of the wife's relatives in the Seattle area.
  22. T-shirts are already for sale! Resist we much! shirt from Zazzle.com
  23. I am expecting my first, a girl, in a little over a month. I'll be in jail charged with 2 counts of murder if I ever come home to that. If I don't finish myself off before the cops get there for being such a damned failure as a father.
  24. I hate to say it, but in my experiences in this town, it is abnormal. I pray my child will be equally abnormal.
