  1. I've actually been considering doing it again, but this time National Guard. I went into the AF right out of HS. I just wonder if my body can handle it again 16 years after the first go around, and a more difficult one at that.
  2. I have read the first book and am on the second right now. Uverse is offering HBO free for 3 months so I signed up and am catching up on season 1 using On Demand. As far as netflix, you can use it to get the discs by mail, but not stream it. In fact, I don't know of any of the HBO shows that can be streamed, I think I read that HBO views Netflix as competition and that is why they don't do licensing with Netflix for streaming content.
  3. After fondling one at Classic, I am totally gonna end up with one. Everything about it was well thought out and done nicely. The closest I could come to a complaint is I would have preferred the bag with two straps for bag pack style wear as opposed to the single sling bag style strap.
  4. Having just finished the Enemies Trilogy and Unintended Consequences I am now looking for some more books of a similar nature. So what ya got? Books available as ebooks or in PDF would be preferable. Anything else good out there?
  5. Before I finished EFAD, I bought the other two books in the trilogy. I have now finished all 3 of them. Bracken paints a picture that is terrifying in not just its plausibility, but in what I believe is its accuracy in portraying what is likely the future of this country. I have long lost hope that our republic can be saved without bloodshed. On a related note, I just finished John Ross' "Unintended Consequences". WOW! If you have not read it, you really should try and find a copy to buy/borrow (as it out of print) for it is the best book I have read of this genre, and in fact, one of the better books I have read of any genre.
  6. I would say it is a very bad idea. Selling a gun and transferring it from one person to another sounds to be a direct violation of the current statues and what they say about the handling of a firearm on campus. Plus, lots of people around and on foot means a high probability of being seen and having it called in. I'd really suggest choosing an alternate location dude.
  7. Got it figured out. If anyone ever needs to do this type of conversion, http://www.2epub.com works very well. I am now in possession of John Ross' "Unintended Consequences" in a usable ebook format.
  8. Anyone have a converter program they'd be willing to put to use for me? I have an 800+ page book that need converting so that I can read it on my iPad and the free ones will only do 5 pages at a time or are not Mac friendly. I don't want to have to spend $40 to make one book readable. I figure I'd email the PDF and then you could email back the ePub. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it, plus you'll have a copy of "Unintended Consequences" in both PDF and ePub for your efforts.

    SW M&P9's

What all these cats have said. I adore my M&P9c. Apex DCAEK and Meprolight Tru Dot sights and tighter groups than I have ever had with any other pistol.
  10. What I took away from his story is that he was suspicious of the alleged officer's identity as an actual officer and then when he called into the department, his suspicions were confirmed. Based upon the events as they were relayed, it is plausible that he was pulled over by an imposter.
  11. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." — Claire Wolfe "101 Things to Do 'Til the Revolution" (1996) The awkward stage is just about over.
  12. If you believe the Republican Party is any better or different than then the Democratic Party, I got some beach property in Arizona to sell ya. The leadership of both parties are made up of the same corrupt big government control types. One party might take a little longer to get there than the other, but they are both marching this country towards the same place. Looking out at the current state of things, I'd imagine I have a pretty good idea what it felt like in the late 1850s..
  13. Guns & ammo is on Summer ave. just north of Highland. South side of the street, if you carry, I would recommend you do so when you visit and be on high alert. It isn't a great area.
  14. That's pretty fricken awesome.
  15. Not gonna say anything derogatory about the guys over at Arms Fair, good folks over there with a solid shop. I count Rob as a friend in fact. However, your assertions about Classic being a shop just for "Fudds" makes me laugh considering the amount of certain firearm and accessory categories we sell. You know, the ones that don't appeal to the "Fudds".Now go watch the video Oh Shoot posted and see if it feels familiar. ETA: I don't speak for Classic, I'm just a friend of the shop and a part timer behind the counter. My opinions are solely my responsibility and in no way are the opinions of Classic Arms.
  16. It sold over the weekend. Only thing the other guy I work with and I remember really jumping out at us was that the FSB was not F marked. Other than that, decent build for the money.
  17. They are sort of new to the biz, IIRC, they are from some of the former BM crew, but don't quote me on that. From the one I looked at that we had at the shop, they are not milspec. I will drop by and see if it is still there in the morning, but they appeared to be a mid tier rifle. If it is still there, I will give a fresh rundown of actual build specs. If there are any points in specific you want me to look for, just post em before about 9 am.
  18. At this point the mission, nebulous as it was, is over. After this last month, it is time to pack it in and come home, the hearts and minds of the everyday Afghans are now out of reach.
  19. NM. I was thinking of someone else.
  20. 3 Doritos Locos tacos and a chili cheese burrito from Taco Bell. My coworkers are gonna hate me tonight.
  21. You gain 2 rounds capacity.
  22. Kentucky, it's like a low rent version of Tennessee with a lot of horse fences.
  23. 918 <-that's my kid's birthday. (You'll have my order in the day after you announce the winner, LOL)
