  1. I don’t think it’s any more complicated than simply the fact that they are not allowed to do so. If the law were to change there, as I believe it should, you would likely see an initial explosion of the OC zealots doing their thing. But after a while, good sense and social stigma would result in an in-state of affairs as you have here, or nearly everywhere else in which it is legal and tolerated.
  2. When I first started carrying I was a proponent of open carry for all of the reasons your friends have mentioned. The longer I carried, and the more experience I gained with firearms the less desire I had to open carry. The only benefit of being allowed to open carry at this point is if at the end of the day of range Larping I just want to get home, I can just get in the car and go and not worry about it if I have to stop and get gas or something along the way. Otherwise, there is no benefit to advertising that I have a firearm on me . my view at this point boils down to this. Should you have the right to open carry, yes. Should you open carry, no.
  3. That always shocks everyone when I put one of mine in their hands. Protechs open with AUTHORITY!
  4. It’s actually not that odd. If you follow Trump’s schedule even semi-closely you’ll know that he’s a seriously avid golfer and on Sunday he’s gonna be playing golf at one of his clubs.
  5. I don’t know, but I’ve been on that pedestrian bridge before. From the looks of it I think they were about… ohhhh halfway there.
  6. It’s the foundational law of the land. Its applicability to all and the results of its inadequacies should be readily apparent to anyone with eyes and a working brain. That’s the point of the Adams quote. He knew what kind of document he had helped craft and the type of people it was written for. We have created a population that can’t be adequately ruled by it because they do not possess the requisite moral principles that act as self limiting boundaries on behavior.
  7. John Adams: 'Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.'
  8. Exactly. With rights comes responsibility. The bigger the right, the greater the responsibility. The greater the responsibility, the bigger the consequences for failing to live up to them.
  9. I’m only pointing out the thoroughly expected pattern here. A pattern that’s become so well established that it’s a literal meme at this point.
  10. I knew someone would have that one on deck.
  11. I expect so. The precedent set by the Michigan couple’s prosecution is going to start getting used regularly.
  12. Oh look, he was known to the FBI.
  13. Welcome aboard! @TGO David is the person you need to speak to regarding an Authorized Vendor account. As you might guess from the name, he’s the man around these parts. Have a look around and hop in, looking forward to getting to know ya.
  14. The memes have been a wonderful and beautiful tribute to the internets favorite gun loving uncle.

  16. The requirement for 20g is what’s stumping me. Antipersonnel setups that have an increased mag capacity with a shorter barrel are common in 12g, but 20g is a tough nut to crack.
  17. “Never wrestle with a pig. You just get dirty and the pig likes it.”
  18. As someone who holds views on this subject much more in line with the person you encountered*, let me first say that his behavior was indefensible. I’m just not the type to engage with strangers over things like that because there’s almost nothing to ever be gained from it and the risks of things going badly, quickly are way too high. But if I were to engage with someone over a hot button topic, a calm demeanor and open attitude go a long way to encouraging understanding rather than enmity. The flip side of that is that if one wears clothing or bumper stickers or other metaphorical flags on controversial issues, you must be prepared to encounter those that are less than rational on highly emotionally charged subjects. You’re going to draw them to you like a moth to a flame. I view it much like going to the ATM in a dark parking lot in a bad part of town or anywhere else where the odds of needing a gun go exponentially upwards. Sure, I should be able to do it, but is it smart? No. Not really. Would I hold a certain level of responsibility for intentionally putting myself in a bad situation? Yeah. I absolutely would. It’s a simple risk mitigation equation. Is this inherently risky behavior I’m about to engage in, is it worth it if it goes really badly? *edited to clarify, my issues are with the secular nation state of Israel, not Jewish people in general. I realize that may not have been originally clear
  19. Welcome, and while I am not in any way going to be of help with your particular predicament, I suspect @Alleycat72 may have the insight you seek.
  20. I didn’t think I was gonna have the free cash available for this one, and it was killing me. Luckily, it just showed up. I’m in for 1 knife. Will these be serialized? If so, I would greatly appreciate #10 if possible to match the rest of my collection. I’ll send payment at the beginning of the week.
  21. I love this line and am providing you the courtesy of letting you know I am unashamedly stealing it.
