Are things really that bad?
Chucktshoes replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hey! I grew up in one of those. Oh, wait, nvm. -
Good book as I remember it. Might have to reread it now that you bring it up. I went through a period of time where I read every book he wrote, though I haven't read anything of his in the last 5 or 6 years. I think that where you and I find ourselves at loggerheads in the political discussions is that you may still have faith that the Republic can be reclaimed from the clenches of tyranny. I have none. I have no hope faith left in our current system, only hope in a future after collapse. In fact I would prefer to see it all burn to the ground sooner rather than later in the hopes that something worthwhile may surface for my daughter to raise her children in. I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace. Thomas Paine

This is the point I have been trying to make. During the last campaign much hay was made regarding O's lack of executive experience. Well, Mitt possesses that experience, and yet, a lot of y'all are willing to ignore what he actually did while in office because he has the right letter next to his name. There is no difference between y'all and the Democrats who gloss over O's record during the last 3.5 years regarding his handling of the wars, his failure to close Guantanamo, or the fact that he has claimed the ability to execute or assassinate US citizens without due process. Even GWB didn't go that far. For a supposed "Constitutional Lawyer" Obama sure doesn't give a damn about what it says. Mitt won't either, none of them ever do. They all just want to expand the power they wield.

You should ask Il Duce to show you his new Ed Brown.

Welcome and stuff. As a dude who doesn't have to deal with the fashion issues of dressing that y'all do, I have no advice to give ya. All I will say is that my wife's carry gun is Ruger SR9c.

We found something we agree on. -
Are you suggesting that his Johnny-come-lately conservative talk negates his historically liberal walk?

Democrats: Let's Ban Profits!

For all of the self serving aggrandizement and heavy handedness, McCarthy turned out to be right. The US government during the 40's and early 50's was riddled with communist sympathizes and spies, most especially Roosevelt's White House and the State Department. -
As an FYI, the Remington contract was challenged with a measure of success and is now under review. Pending the outcome of the review, the contract may stay with Remington or be reawarded.

Both RangeUSA and Rangemasters have excellent instructors. Either place will do well by you. -

The generally accepted standard in a debate/discussion is that it is incumbent upon the maker of a contested claim to back said claim up. Otherwise I could make the claim that you are functionally retarded and then demand that you provide certified IQ scores to disprove my assertion. -
And I'd rather not be robbed when I am out shopping, I guess that means we should ban all guns, eh? Life is risk. You can't eliminate it, but you can minimize it. The question is how much are you willing to give up in the process. I know how much I am willing to give up, that's why I won't fly or take any sort of transit where I have to deal with the TSA as I view their current activities as unreasonable and a violation of my 4th Amendment rights.

We all agree that Robin Meade is hot. I think that this is a good place to end this thread. Quick! Someone lock before somebody else chimes in with a "meh." -

Some of us are. We just won't vote for someone whom we view as essentially more of the same according to their record. Remember, Romney actually signed an Assault Weapons Ban into law in MA, or is it convenient to forget that little fact? Also, let's take a look at the facts of the TN electorate. Other than Shelby,Davidson and maybe Knox counties, the rest of the state is going as red as it gets. Therefore, my voting my conscience by casting my vote for Gary Johnson (who has the record as in New Mexico you wish Romney had in MA) changes nothing in the short term. What it does do is possibly help the Libertarian Party get a little bit closer to being a viable 3rd party. -

Sheltered? What part of "due to family history" do you not understand. Let me be a little more specific, due to personal and family history. Think on that for a minute before you formulate tour next response Pedophilia has zero to do the victim's gender and all about the sickness of predator. I never said that there weren't gay pedophiles, they do exist. What I can say is that when looking at the files of convicted child molesters, less than 1% self identify as gay or lesbian, regardless of the gender of the child victim. By the numbers, the youth leader at your church or a scout leader is more likely to diddle your kid than a gay teacher. -

When you bring out the "gay predator" meme this sums it up for me. Due to family history, I am quite familiar with sexual predators and the stats behind them and I can tell you it isn't the homos preying on the kiddies. It is the straight family friend or relative that is doing that damage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLUoRXrYhHc
