Stopping theft with deadly force
Chucktshoes replied to daddyo's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have stated many times that I view defense of property as a valid reason for the use of deadly force. When you steal from me you don't just steal a physical item, you have stolen the time of my life I spent earning the money pay for that item. If it takes a bullet to protect my property, so be it. -
Our real problem is that we keep ourselves trapped in the middle east because we keep ourselves beholden to the hippies and NIMBYs that won't let us pursue energy independence. I think they would rather our boys keep dying in deserts so that they can have a war to protest against rather than have more oil platforms off the coast. So called "green technology" is a ####ing joke, but nobody wants to admit it. Hell, if I went down to the beach and couldn't see the horizon for all the oil rigs, I'd look at it as a thing of beauty as long as we weren't having to be on our knees sucking the Arabian #### for one more drop of crude.

I don't think you can get much more "urban America" than Memphis/Shelby County, and we have more than 10% of the permits for the entire state of TN. I would be careful to not base your entire film off of the perspective of CA. CA is a different animal than the rest of the country. That caveat aside, I would definitely encourage you to explicitly show the racist origins of most of this country's gun laws. Far too many people are unaware that in the US gun control and Jim Crow have the same parents.

The DA would have to be a genius at jury selection to get a conviction. I hope he did hit what he was aiming at. As long as he had a clear line of fire, I say throw as much lead at the bastards as possible. I really would like to see our state laws changed to more closely resemble Texas. As far as I am concerned, defense of property should be a justified reason to use deadly force.

You forget, the American Taliban wants to govern our country by their religious codes. Mitt doesn't subscribe to the right set for them so it has to be fretted over.

You know, after my initial OMGWTFBBQ moment and got over my feelings of "how dare they!" I find myself having a hard time working up any anger. You've heard the term "blowback" by now I am sure. Well this is it. We have no business meddling in the internal affairs of other nations. Maybe if we didn't spend so much time bombing folks and overthrowing their governments, our ambassadors might be in a little less danger.

That just goes to show that this election cycle y'all Republicans are so hard up you take anything you can get. Just look at your candidate!

Having lived in Utah and known plenty of Mormons, I have to say that Romney's faith is one of his better qualities. I may not agree with much of the theological tennants of the LDS church, but they are generally good people in my experience.

A question for the Romney apologists

My role purpose is simple. I am standing here pointing at the guy with no clothes on. I just want to know if y'all really believe the #### sandwich you are eating tastes as good as you are trying to tell me it does. -
A question for the Romney apologists

Couth, I ain't got it. The same monotonous refrain of "you are just a democrat and want the commie to win" in every thread detracts from the conversations. So you think I'm childish? Good, maybe you'll stop wasting your time posting the same lame, nonsensical attack in every thread I am involved in. What part of "I think Romney is really a liberal based upon his record" are you failing to grasp? If Romney is too fiscally liberal for me, how can I be a Democrat? If I want to massively cut federal spending and involvement back to its constitutionally enumerated roles, to include ending ALL social service programs, even the ones the Republicans like, how exactly does that make me a Democrat? When you can back up your statements with something resembling a cogent argument based in some realm of logic, then I will take you seriously. -

Be quiet when grown folks are talking. Don't come back until you can actually make a reasoned argument instead of the nonsense you have spouted so far. I have stated clearly before that my answer to this question is 6 of one, half a dozen of another. Their words may differ slightly, but their records are not substantially different. Just as the antiwar lefties who supported O in the last election found out, once the guy gets into office he is not beholden to the platform he ran on. I will give credit where credit is due, when asked straight out, there has been less equivocation and responses a little closer to what I see as the truth. "He may be a liberal bag of ####, but he's our liberal bag of ####. And hey, at least he's not Obama!" -

Reagan had already developed a record of conservative action to back up his conversion prior to running for president. Romney didn't start trying to change his talk until he started looking at a run for the White House. If Romney had a record to back up his talk, I wouldn't be hammering on this point.
