1.
My mistake. It's silly that there's two different ages. You can join the Marines at 18 but can't buy beer or a handgun from a dealer? That's just dumb.
Agreed.
 2.
Somebody is trying to take him up. http://getoffthex.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/998104881/m/172006708001/p/1
That thread is hilarious. The guy attempting to take him up on the offer is a bag of crap, but it is still funny.
 3.
Correct. 21 to buy one from an FFL, 18 to own one. TN laws are so stupid...
That's not TN law. It is federal law. TN law allows those 18-20 to purchase privately. Federal law prevents them from purchasing a handgun from a FFL.
 4. Definitely interested in hearing his story. Please post it.
 5.
I have made no bones about it. I’m not on the “Innocent permit holder defended himself” bandwagon. Based on what I have read, this man accosted and murdered an innocent kid walking down the street. The elections over; let’s get on with a trial.
That you hold the view you do when all of the actual evidence supports the claims of GZ is exactly why NBC is getting sued. They did their job quite well in painting a picture of GZ as a vigilante racist and tainting the prospective jury pool. I hope GZ gets enough money out of the bastards to not only pay for his criminal defense in the farce of a prosecution, but to have enough left over to not have to work again.
 6.
Always heard it was the piercer that was in the middle of the hollow point. They got them the name of cop killers because they were supposed to go through bulletproof vest
Nope. You heard a bunch of crap.
 7. Grendel. I am here in Memphis and would be happy to help you out. I'll send you a PM with my contact info and I can introduce you to some folks at my favorite shop, admittedly I am biased as they let me work there sometimes, and answer any questions you have and find the answers to the ones I don't know. I will say this, there aren't many deals to be had at the gun shows in Memphis anymore, but they are fun to go to when you are new to firearms.
 8.
I think George Zimmerman may well be a racist and predatory villain, and I didn’t hear the edited version. Either this clown doesn’t listen to his attorneys, or he has the dumbest attorney’s in history.
Tell us how you really feel!
 9.
So you're suggesting that having a masters degree in art studies with a speciality in oil canvas between 1453-1455 isn't as useful as someone with 10 years of machining experience?
What makes that even funnier is that she has a degree from Memphis College of Art.
 10. Am involved in this conversation with a friend on FB about how Cook's comments on manufacturing skill sets in the US labor force is a big issue that must be addressed if we wish to reignite our manufacturing base in this country.
 11. Ya know, he might have a case there. IANAL, but I think it was a pretty obvious case of slander by NBC. Weren't a lot of of saying exactly that when it came to light what NBC had done?
 12. Do you have a C&R? If not, get one and make life easier on both of you.
 13. Pitt/Jolie were the only ones I was really questioning. The rest have generally made themselves known for what they are.
 14. Not to step on toes here but I am going to question the Jolie mention. Everything I have ever seen about her on the subject pointed to her being pro gun. What is your source for this data on the listed celebs?
 15.
He is going to be on O'reilly tonight and explain his comment. Should be interesting.
Talk about home field advantage. It's gonna be one gun grabbing douchebag making equivocations to another gun grabbing douchebag.
 16. Saw that yesterday. It was brutal.
 17.
Good grief, are cops the only ones with discretion? As a cop it was up to me if you got arrested or not (except for felonies, DV, or DUI). If I agreed with why you broke the law; I could let you go. I would think store managers have some discretion when it comes to Company Policy. The conversation should have gone something like this… Store Manager: You violated Company policy, so you can’t be employee of the month this month. You were free and clear and could have left the night Manager for dead meat; but you didn’t. I think your actions may well have saved both his live and yours. You proved that you can do the right thing under extreme pressure. So I’m giving you a raise. Employee: Okay, thank you. Store Manager: We’ll talk next month about the employee of the month thing. Oh and BTW, next time you engage an Armed Robber; kill him, don’t let him run off.
In theory this would work. The only problem is that anything of this nature could not be kept at a store level. I would also put money on the store manager not being the one who made the decision to fire the employee; it was likely made by a district manager in conjunction with the Loss Prevention department. Someone at least at the district, if not corporate made the decision to terminate this employee.
 18.
Another writer for FOX Sports wrote a rebuttal of sorts against Whitlock's hackery http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/kansas-city-chiefs-jovan-belcher-suicide-murder-no-reason-to-take-away-rights-120512
That is an excellent article.
 19.
It's mainly helpful to hide porn activity from one's somewhat 'puter savvy parents or spouse. - OS
True story.
 20.
Finished it last night and a CC is bothersome. Glad that book had a decent ending. A bunch of it was too close to home.
Just wait until you finish the rest of the trilogy.
 21.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/dec/3/police-man-shot-ex-wife-as-she-played-organ-church/print/ aaahemmmm..... Again. Yes, I always carry at church.
I carry everywhere, why should church be any different?
 22.
Isn't it traditional by this time for someone from the shop to come on here and make a total spiteful ass of himself? - OS
You, sir, win 3.14 internets.
 23. F-troop is the BATFE, so named for their habit of screwing up everything they touch. The Fibbies are the FBI, known for burning people alive and shooting women holding infants.
 24.
Elimination of BATFE would be a good thing. Of course elimination of many other unnecessary bureaucracies would be good also.
As bad as the BATFE is, I don't want them going anywhere until the gun laws are gone too. Do you really want the fibbies handling gun issues? I don't the fibbies get away with far more nefarious actions than the F-Troop ever managed to. Remember, when the F-Troop gets to where they need to start burning folks, they call in the fibbies to handle it.
 25. Nice!
