Yeah. But still, it is as of now unsubstantiated rumor so I would take it with a large grain of salt before accepting it as fact.
-
What you posted is the only reason I mentioned it as well. If that turns out to be the case, then I would expect at least one charge to be upgraded.

Scuttlebut amongst my MPD friends is that he was known to one of the officers already... …or should I say the wife of one of the officers.

You sure? There’s a whole lotta folks with way more money than sense. I mean if they had any sense this wouldn’t appeal to them in the first place.
-
If this term is being used by police and prosecutors that you know, it speaks volumes about them. You may not realize what exactly is being spoken, but it’s the quiet parts out loud.
-
People scared for their lives don’t think or act rationally. That makes the responsibility of the agents of the state to act correctly and justly all the more important. Yeah, it’s a difficult job, but it’s no excuse for what went on here.
-
Yeah, they’ve been getting a lesson in Atlanta not being Portland. Lord willing, them Georgia boys will put enough of a hurting on them that they’ll carry their asses home. The city is hurting enough without them making it worse.
-
I strongly suspect that the two week delay is both to allow time for the charges to be filed and for the city to prepare for unrest when it is released.
-
I think the best usage of this information is to bring the pistol into 922r compliance prior to Form 1 application.

Re: the Scorpion units, it’s my understanding that they staff these primarily with young hard charger types. This can be a recipe for exactly this type of disaster without the proper guidance and supervision of experienced officers seasoned with age as well as time in uniform. Only one officer involved here had 5 years on the force and a high, adrenaline, high threat unit like this only amplifies the need for experienced and levelheaded personnel.
-
It has been told to me (by a friend on MPD) that the officers’ actions were grossly over the line and that they are a stain on the uniform. He expects that they will, and deserve to be charged. I have not seen the video, but I’ve been told that a field goal kick maneuver to the head while restrained is in it.
-
This can definitely go any direction. Emotions are already running high about it and the body cam video is going to be bad. Really bad. I expect charges to be filed against the officers involved.

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???
Chucktshoes replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
There’s also the fact that that they make all sorts of fake and replica guns that can appear to function correctly on screen by gas operation and such. -
This right here is the key point.

I’m not sure Baldwin will take a plea. O don’t think his ego will allow it. -

Alec Baldwin is being charged with involuntary manslaughter. https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/19/alec-baldwin-involuntary-manslaughter-rust-fatal-shooting-charges-district-attorney/?adid=social-fb -
It has a better chance than not. I am not a lawyer, and I didn’t stay in a holiday inn last night, so take my opinions with a dump truck full of salt. I hesitate to say that ANYTHING is OK because of the mercurial nature of ATF enforcement policy. I do feel confident in saying that certain things are definitely not kosher. A slick pistol tube that doesn’t allow for locking on a stock doesn’t meet the “definite no” metric which is about as good as it gets at this point.
-
By my reading, that depends on if it needs the tube like an AR, or if it’s a non-functional extension. Less of an issue with the former. Very much an issue with the latter.

Yes. If you have a braced shotgun and wish to remain within the law you need to remove the brace immediately.

Garage Robbery In Brentwood
Chucktshoes replied to pop pop's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense

The ATF and DOJ mention 5 different options to deal with this unconstitutional ruling. 1)Permanently remove or alter the brace such that it cannot be reattached 2)Remove the short barrel and attach a 16-inch or longer barrel 3)Destroy the firearm 4)Turn the firearm into your local ATF office 5)Complete and submit ATF Form 1 along with the $200 tax payment (There is no $200 fee during the 120-day amnesty period)
-
It is, until you put a brace on it. Then it’s an SBS.
