Hate them. Can't stand them at all. It isn't that I don't trust them to operate correctly, I do. I don't doubt at all that a well made gun with a decocker will function as designed. I just don't like the DA/SA trigger. I want the trigger to feel the same every time I operate it.

Picked up a beer called Batch 19. Made by Coors. Not bad at all. -
My service began and ended during the Clinton administration, so my deployment to Kuwait was a far milder affair than the folks in the last dozen years. Call it whatever you want. When the President has a list of targets that he personally OK's, it is an assassination. Especially when those killings take place in a location in which we are not actively engaged in combat. When that target is a US citizen, then there is responsibility on the government's behalf to make the reasoning for that decision crystal clear to the the American People. Holder's assertion that "due process does not mean due judicial process" is a load of horseshit and does not even come close to a reasonable justification. As far as AQ being a foreign military, which affiliate of AQ are we talking about? AQAP? AQ in Iraq? Al Shabaab? Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb? Which country do they represent? I don't wholly disagree with your position. However, above any political or military goal, I value the civil liberties of American citizens. I was a vocal critic of the Patriot Act from the beginning and I find the thought that the President can order that an American citizen be specifically and directly targeted for death most especially odious. To kill an American engaged in combat against American forces on the field of battle (like Lindh would have been if he had died) is one thing. To target an American citizen with a drone strike in a country in which we do not have troops and have not declared war against is another matter entirely.

Got some out of this batch. :)

Engaging someone on the field of battle is different than a targeted assassination by drone strike. Awlaki got what he had coming to him, but that doesn't mean that the president had the right to order it done in the manner in which he did. The most salient point being that there is no legal difference in the president ordering the targeted killing of a US citizen in Yemen or Ypslanti, MI.

It isn't different. Both conversations are about an executive claiming the right to kill US citizens without due process. The conversation in the FoxNews video is about his justification for claiming that power while the conversation here in this thread is about him possibly ensuring his ability to have those orders carried out.

Good Lord! That was terrible.

Oh, yeah. I got a massive jones for one as well.

Based on this video, I think some of the pre-work with the ATF might have already been done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6dMJQ-CFN4

Tomorrow Feinstein's Bill Is To Be Filed

That is where it is vitally important to educate the masses and especially the "reasonable gun owners" (as our opposition likes to call them) that those two items are effectively the same thing. -

Tennessee house bill to push back against gun legislation
Chucktshoes replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
In this particular case, that hasn't been in question for quite a while. "If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." Samuel Adams -
DHS is buying up crap tons of ammo. Ammo is hard to find for LE and non-LE consumers. There is LOTS of shady shit going on and the fed.gov is behind most of it. Correlation is not causation however so I don't think there is any reason go overdosing on the tin foil looking for shenanigans that aren't there when there are plenty that are actually going on.

Volkswagon and the Parking Lot Bill

That's a reasonable question in my opinion. -
I think it was google that brought me here initially. I was looking into buying my first gun and was researching the hell out of teh subject as is my nature.

Last April I attended an armorer's course for the M&P pistols. According to the S&W rep they had enough orders at that point to run 2 8 hour shifts for 2 years if they didn't accept another order. If you remember, Ruger temporarily suspended new orders because their backlog was so large. That is the norm across the industry.
