Happy to be of service.

I appreciate your response. I can see where he’s presenting a case in the strictest legal sense. I would counter that it doesn’t necessarily jive with the picture in totality. But he’s a lawyer and I’m not. You mentioned that he went through three videos. Was it strictly the body cam videos, or was one of them the sky eye video?

I quit 25 minutes in when he made blatant misrepresentations regarding what has been said by the police department and prosecutors regarding the reason for the arrest. There is a vast chasm between “we just don’t know why he was pulled over“ and “the officers’ reports claimed it was reckless driving, but we can find no evidence to support that.“ Especially when it is already known that many facts within the reports were falsified. I have actually purchased and read his book and do enjoy his insights when he is on other peoples shows. He does not prove to be very watchable when it is his show to run. Fun fact, he was banned from here during the Zimmerman trial for his huckster routine. He thought he was special and exempt from the hard line rules around here regarding professional advertisement. All of that to say, would it be possible for you to provide a BLUF summary of his main thesis on why he maintains the officers are not legally incorrect?

I’ve been spending time on social media telling both left and right wingers to sit the eff down regarding the handling of this. The lack of mass rioting we’ve seen is partially due to the handling of the administration in calling things out for what they are and being honest with the public. I would also attribute a significant amount of the reason for peace to the people of this city who are legitimately seeking for a better home. For all the crap going on, there are many more good folks than bad there no matter what the rest of the state believes.

Yeah. But still, it is as of now unsubstantiated rumor so I would take it with a large grain of salt before accepting it as fact.

What you posted is the only reason I mentioned it as well. If that turns out to be the case, then I would expect at least one charge to be upgraded.

Scuttlebut amongst my MPD friends is that he was known to one of the officers already... …or should I say the wife of one of the officers.

You sure? There’s a whole lotta folks with way more money than sense. I mean if they had any sense this wouldn’t appeal to them in the first place.

If this term is being used by police and prosecutors that you know, it speaks volumes about them. You may not realize what exactly is being spoken, but it’s the quiet parts out loud.

People scared for their lives don’t think or act rationally. That makes the responsibility of the agents of the state to act correctly and justly all the more important. Yeah, it’s a difficult job, but it’s no excuse for what went on here.

Yeah, they’ve been getting a lesson in Atlanta not being Portland. Lord willing, them Georgia boys will put enough of a hurting on them that they’ll carry their asses home. The city is hurting enough without them making it worse.
-
I strongly suspect that the two week delay is both to allow time for the charges to be filed and for the city to prepare for unrest when it is released.

I think the best usage of this information is to bring the pistol into 922r compliance prior to Form 1 application.
