  1. Hrmmm… before two years ago I would’ve said the BHP. the recent explosion of affordable clones has really changed that though. I strongly suspect this thread will definitely be filled with full sized metal framed offerings though. I’ll be really interested to see what folks come up with not in that category.
  2. I’m already using them. A lot. So it doesn’t faze me.
  3. I really want to take a class from Scott. But I also think that you make a very important point. There’s a lot of ways to skin this cat. It doesn’t mean that some aren’t objectively wrong, but there are more ways than one that are subbjectively,l right.
  4. I have long maintained here that if having a drink while carrying your firearm makes you dangerous to yourself and others, the problem was neither the alcohol nor the firearm.
  5. The federal statutes in the gun free school, zone act prohibit possession of firearms on the property of and surrounding K-12 schools. They provide an exception for people licensed to carry by the state. As it currently reads, the Tennessee code specifically prohibits carry on school grounds with the exception of law enforcement.
  6. It appears to grant cops the ability to have a firearm and have a beer, but also give the regular Joe a lot of stuff. Mostly having to do with removal of certain sensitive place prohibitions. Obviously the details of the bill text make all the difference, but based on the summary, this is my interpretation. Instead of providing a defense for certain places like parks, it removes the prohibition for parks and higher ed facilities. So college campus carry. Also, it changes the text so that K-12 carry is prohibited “except for any person permitted to do so under federal law.” That seems like a backdoor way into allowing K-12 carry by folks with a HCP, but not folks under permitless carry.
  7. I strongly empathize with the difficulty of the job. At one point in time, I considered moving into law-enforcement as a career, but chose not to upon serious self reflection and the understanding that I would be very ill-suited to the job. In retrospect, I understand that I likely would have ended up making the news in a very terrible way. I do not envy you, but the reality is that walking that fine line and putting yourself at risk in the attempts to de-escalate situations and avoid using lethal force if at all possible is a primary expectation of the job. I am very critical of how we do policing in the United States, because so often officers are not trained and held to an appropriate standard. Those that are able to do the job in the manner in which it should be done, maintained by respect, and have my gratitude for performing a very basic and necessary function required for society.
  8. Man, if this wasn’t the green dot I’d be all over it. GLWS.
  9. Her daddy was well known, and she was cheap.
  10. I figured somebody actually knew. I was just hoping to provide a place to start looking.
  11. Looks like some variation of a Scofield.
  12. After decades of worksheets where MLKjr is colored by a black crayon with bright red lips, I think this is not a terrible direction to move in.
  13. This. All of this. In spades. The age of cheap milsurps is over. If you see one for anything in the area of what you think is affordable, buy it immediately. The prices only move in one direction from here on.
  14. I had an 03 Xterra with a manual that I sold to my aunt for a song as a favor to my dad. I miss that damn thing so much.
  15. One sexy Latina.
  16. Damn it.
  17. The movie was pure schlock. The books are way, way better. Also, the author of the books is somebody you may very well have seen around town and possibly at the range.
  18. That gets pushed heavily in the second game that the show is based on. The agenda is definitely woven throughout the source material.
  19. Same. It’s very unlikely that I’ll get old enough to collect on it anyways.
  20. Here’s a good test. Have your political leanings started to change? How do you plan on voting next cycle?
  21. This is a bug, not a feature.
